New Jojo thread. This year I plan on Cosplaying Josuke, I was wondering how would I go about making his costume? I'll have no problem with the pomp-wig, but I have no clue with everything else.

Only somewhat related, but I honestly really hate girls cosplaying the bigger male characters from JoJo in general. Guys are rarely big/muscular/fabulous enough for them as it is; girls really don't pull it off.

You should really finish JoJo's. Part 5 is the bishounen brigade, with the exception of Trish who is a girl who is just slim. And it's not like part 6/7/8 have exceptionally shaped women, any girl who has been to them gym a few times in her life could make a decent Jolyne, plus Foo Fighters, Hot Pants, Lucy, Scarlet, Daiya and Yasuho are all normal, slim body types.

Essentially I drafted up a shirt pattern, put a invisible zipper in the back, drafted up some baggy pants and sewed the two together. Then went through the joy of making pantshoes for the sake of accuracy. (Shoe covers then sewing them to the pants, thanks Araki)

For Jolyne emblem, the heart itself is eva foam and the actual butterfly on top is one I drew up myself on my computer and printed it out on cardstock then glued it to the heart. Figured it was the best/neatest way to go about it!

Don't be afraid to use foundation and eyeliner anon. It doesn't have to be a heavy foundation or anything but it helps to even out your skintone and just looks generally better in photos. Any Jojo pretty much calls for eyeliner and/or lipstick too.

So, I'm no stranger to makeup, but I'm a little stumped on how to do makeup that's Jojo tier dramatic. Face lines and drawn on eyelids are really campy, I'm not going down that route. Are there any other key things that could make for great makeup? Are false lashes needed? Extra contouring? I'm cosplaying pic related, if that helps.

Propa for cosplaying the version of Joseph anon, for makeup definitely contour. (Make sure you don't turn out with dirt face though) Lashes you could do too if they're the shorter more dense kind if that makes sense.
The longer dramatic kind would probably look to feminine.

Replying since I am (was) the cosplayer. Honestly,this photo is probably by far the worst photo of me wearing it. Everything about this photo kind of makes me sick. I think thats neat more as a Josuke "inspired" fashion thing than an actual cosplay. You could still do a bedazzled version of Josuke, I just think exactly like that one wouldn't be the way to do it.
Try looking into the Swavorski versions of Jojo figures, I personally think the way they went about bedazzling the figures would be a more tasteful way to go about a cosplay version.

For any Johnny cosplayers what material did you decide to go with his pants? I was thinking faux leather but I don't know how adjustable it'll be and if acrylic paint will stay on them. Another idea I had was leggings, but from what I've seen they look absolutely like shit.

Best way I've seen it done is blue metallic spandex. Stars you can either applique on, via sewing or possibly iron on vinyl (haven't tried that myself yet) or paint. Just make sure your paint is spandex or nylon friendly.

I agree Spandex can work for a lot of JoJo characters but definitely not all of them. Especially if it's like a suit or uniform.
