I'm going to be participating in my first lolita fashion show and I'd really appreciate a photo dump full of cute poses, lolita or other J-fashion. Bonus for twinning.
>>
>>8808436
I'm confused. What did I do?
>>
I think lolitas need help with posing in general. I think this will be a helpful thread.
>>
>>8808436
Shut up, this thread is fine.

I like this pose, but I wish she'd made the twist of her midsection/hips a little less extreme,

You didn't do anything, anon. This is a good thread. A shitty pose can really ruin a coord shot.

Are there any poses that photograph well aside from the go-to one leg crossed in front of the other, and the kawaiiuguu pigeon toe poses?
>>
>>8808436
Nice shitpost, retard
>>8808429
This is a great thread, people always tell me I'm posed badly but never give to advice. I never know what to do with my hands
>>
I like this thread!
I have a question, how do you think what pose do when someone ask for a picture? I freeze in that situation, and I think of all the posibilities and it came so shitty.
It's a matter of practicing in the mirror until it's natural?
>>
>>8808694
My default pose to go to when a normie asks for a picture is like the OP, feet crossed or slight pidgeon toe and hold out/push out part of your dress. Other poses you can practice for photoshoots or meets ect.

definitely mirror practice. the main thing is to not obstruct your coord, but also dont just let your hands hang by your side. it sounds weird, but i look at those generic disney princess poses (minus meridia and pocahontas in this pic) and take some cues from there. the dainty posture and hand placement still lets you see their dresses but are still in interesting poses

Style Savvy helped me a lot with poses.
They might not be the most original but I can take some generic and cute ones.

This is actually a great idea, anon. I can see that Belle one being a really good, elegant way to also frame your face if you don't have a purse. I have weird long monkey arms, so I'm always looking for different ways to make them look less knuckle-dragger.

Would you all consider face/hair touching to be silly? I usually try to bend my arm when I'm carrying a shoulder bag, but I always just make like a point fist thing by my shoulder.
>>8808708
This is an awesome idea!
>>8808753
But this is the worst meme
>>
>>8808694
Practice in front of your mirror. Practice in front of your friends. Get them to help you pick poses that look cute. If you can, set up a tri-pod and take selfies. Have two or three in your head and learn how to do them really well. Look through pictures of other people whose poses you like. Steal ruthlessly from them. Figure out why you like their pictures. Is it their expression? Their pose? What are they doing with their feet, hands, etc?
>>
Does anybody have any good ouji poses? I absolutely love ouji and wear it mostly now, but my head seems to think I still have girly lolita mode on and pose like a pretty princess.
>>

I came here to post this link. I found it helpful for figuring out what to do with my arms.

Nice try anon but no. I just find the guide helpful, and it seems very fitting for this thread?
>>8809047
This might sound kind of silly but try looking at old historical paintings of princes, ect and mimic some of their poses? It may give you some inspirtation at the very least.
>>
>>8808677
This tutorial is awesome! It helped me a lot, specially on how to do the crossed foot thing on a less stupid way...

>>
>>8809047
Try putting one hand on your waist or hips and sticking your elbow out or back a little. It instantly makes your pose more boyish/mannish without obscuring any part of your outfit.

I can't figure out how to save it to my phone to post it but look at The Blue Boy by Thomas Gainsborough to see what I mean.

i was going to ask this myself, but it turns out i have some pics with poses i like so i can help you and answer my own question, which was also your question.

here is "the hat grab." not a tip, and the face is not obscured. also check out what those feet are doing.

a lot of ouji poses have a sort of jaunty feel to them, like the prince would rather be doing a jig right now.

and do not be too stiff. let your personality show. this guy is strictly EGA but his poses aren't pretentious, he's usually relaxed and having a good time.

There are cutesy walks/poses and elegant walks/poses and which you would do would depend on the coord. For an elegant coord, lots of ballet poses, elegant arms, bows and curtsies. This "Regal". Here is a more elegant pose.
>>
Then for cutesy poses, think shy, blushing, head in the clouds and perhaps even a bit silly. You want to be cute. Lots of big facial expressions. Heres a cute pose.
>>
>>8809166
You're a little late to the game, son.
She's been around and looked up to for awhile. Also I doubt she 4chins
>>
The most important thing to remember is that you are there to show off the dress. When you reach a long pose, "present" the dress in some way. You can do this by holding up the fabric so the print is more visable or by simply opening the arms outward as if to say "look at this". Also, make sure to hold still in a pose long enough for the cameras to catch it. If you move to quickly, even if your walk was good, the photos will be blurry and unsuable. Have confidence and dont feel silly practicing your poses ahead of time and asking for others opinions. Pic shows a good presentaion pose.

It's the newest print by Royal Princesd Alice; croix de l'etoile. The name wasnt even released until a couple weeks after this show. I want that exact dress soooo bad!

Can we get posing help for cosplays too?
>>
>>8821390

Sorry this is not elegant at all. She looks stiff and awkward. The arms need to be a little softer and rounder.
>>
>>8821390
I know this isn't the thread for it, but is she really wearing 5 dollar target tights with that dress?
>>
>>8824395
I agree. Very awkward looking.
>>
>>8824402
Relax bitch, the models dont choose what they wear.
>>
>>8821422
THIS. Most of the photos I take of non-professional models at fashion shows wind up blurred because the person hasn't held their pose for long enough and/or is racing down the runway. Anxiety causes most people to move faster on the runway than they realize. Focus on sloooooowing that shit down and you'll look better and have nicer photos taken.
>>
>>8824395
This was a photo captured mid walk from an audience member not a photo from a photography session. Keep that in mind. I was not asking for a critique on my poses, If anything, critique my words because that was the real point of my post, yeah? Kay. I was giving an idea. If I were able to send the link to the actual video of the walk, it'd have been more effective.
>>
>>8824834
Yeah I noticed that too. I made the same mistake my first few times as a model and my pics were awful because of it. I enjoy sharing helpful tips with others and vice-versa so glad to be of help :)
>>
>>8823246
where can you find more like these?
>>
Hmm do other gestures work, outside of the cutesy "stance"?

I'm thinking you can probably do anything. I could be wrong i suppose.
>>
>>8824838
You sound so mad. Do you need some time to calm down anon? I can get you a chair or something

lucky for me, i tend to freeze in place.

in whatever unflattering pose i was in when the anxiety tsunami hit.
>>
>>8824838
Different anon here. Didn't want to say anything but your walk was really awkward. I thought maybe it would look better in photographs. Even a friend commented on it... Not trying to be mean, sorry.
>>
>>8808493
Mad sauce on that brooch, but I agree the twist is a little extreme (but she still looks really cute)

I have a very round Asian face and in some photos taken by others I look like Kim Jong. Any tips on ensuring a flattering face pose?
>>
>>8824402
Those tights are cute and go with the coord. Who cares if they are from Target or how much they cost. Get off your high horse and get the sand out of your vag.
>>
>>8829153
it sounds weird but kind of turtle your neck towards the camera, I have the same problem an doing so helps define your jawline even if it looks weird IRL
>>
>>8829153

Never face the camera full on. See >>8823246, her face is wider and flatter when she faces the camera full on (in the first line of pics), and then in every other pic she has a much slimmer face.
Practice smiling sort of sideways at the camera instead of facing it full on.
