Thats not true at all, Sabo's panels were lack luster this year and the dealers hall was really bad I always go into it looking to buy at least one thing but I left this year empty handed because Sabo's dealers never change. The Vendor Hall at Taiyou Con was really good last year with new vendors that don't normally come to Arizona so I end up spending some money.
Taiyou Con's guest list this year is pretty good and more anime focused than sabo's was. Lets be real, no one wanted robotech.
The two convention run differently because they are run by two different organizations both of them have their own faults.

I'm personally really looking forward to Taiyou. There's people coming in from other states again to attend to it'll be a slightly different crowd. The panel list is also way more interesting. My only wish for AZ cons is that they would look to really successful conventions and why people love those cons so much.

Please forgive me I completely forgot about this. I have been looking at other conventions out-of-state and how they run over the past year and a half. This year is a little bit of an awkward growth year since I was planning to implement some of the changes but ran out of time due to me being in school having multiple jobs etc. some of the things that I found another conventions do well is keeping everything in house instead of bringing in an outside group to do a maid cafe. I want taiyou con to shift to this model. This way there's no competition for events and there's room for unlimited growth. There are other changes coming but I don't want to talk about them.

For those if you who didn't go to the Bunny Cafe, here's a little summary for you:

>started around 30 to 45 minutes late
>no food
>only drink was water. if you wanted something else, you had to leave the room and bring it back
>femdom starts yelling at everyone to shut up and listen
>femdom makes everyone respond to her by saying "yes mistress"
>femdom likes using the word "fuck" like she's a middle schooler
>femdom won't shut up and keeps yelling at the entire room every 5 minutes, even after the bunnies are out

outsourcing girls for the maid cafes sounds like a good idea. Auditions are a good idea to filter out the girls who have no personality. Also it'd be nice to see some new faces, mixed in with some of the more memorable old ones. Maybe approach some of the more well known AZ cosplay chicks? It'd be better advertisement for the con as well, and people would be more likely to visit the cafe if specific cosplayers will be there

So the story goes that a friend of his had a bunch of cycling kits made covered in sponsors that would probably never sponsor a cycling team or a team would never have as sponsors.
I always enjoy Taiyou; it's just big enough to be fun but not so big that I have to be jam packed next to a bunch of other people the whole con. The location is really nice for cosplay photo ops and the panels rooms are all reasonably sized and it's got a pretty good competitive pokemon scene. I went camping this year instead of going to Saboten :P
