Anyone have the latest episode issue?
Aside from that, any and all Larme but winter pics especially appreciated.

Also I want to address anon's concern about Risa because I genuinely like the girl and I haven't seen her irl like this anon

>That's a very old pic. I saw her irl and she's very skinny, her face was looking a little gaunt too. But she's still stunning, her makeup was on point. I follow her since 2011 and it's crazy how her face changed.

Her weight is fine there though, so if you look like that and feel like you need to lose weight then maybe you have issues? No offence but she looks really normal there. As far as models go I mean.

Cupid's bow mouth? Sounds cute. Unpopular opinion but I absolutely love Amo. More than Risa even (I don't know why I just do) I dont care. she has the perfect cupid bow mouth.
>>
>>8790782
Is Amo the one who has a kid and a super normie clothing line, or is there another Amo?
>>
>>8790782
Too bad she got knocked up.
>>
>>8790782
I think Risa is just the trend of the moment, like most models. I can't imagine "I love Amo" ever being an unpopular opinion a few years ago but I guess she's fallen off in terms of relevance since getting married and everything.
>>
>>8790784
>>8790793
Yeeup she got knocked up
>>8790794
I just really liked Amo as an aesthetic and that was her job, she was a model and she did it well. I think Risa is perfect for Larme but I just really found Amo to be the perfect playful end of Risa, the silly little girl who would do things Risa was too prim to do. I wish Amo all the best, Risa is perfect I just really wish Amo the the best and she was who brought me into larme.
>>
>>8790801
Amo would still be popular if she didn't pop out a kid. She fucked up her career. But well maybe she was already getting too old anyway.
>>
.>>8790802
She was but whatever the case, Risa is similar in age I don't think that's what put her out of the game. She posts regularly on her Wear account. She seems happy. I genuinely think Amo is a mother type.
>>
>>8790802
>This is how some people genuinely view life.

I can't imagine that. Wasting your life on a career with a finite lifespan and eventually aging and dying alone as a result of this need for temporary popularity (directly referencing your wording.)

If having a family is what she wanted and what is making her happy, that's the best life anyone can really ask for.
>>
>>8790976
Then we can stop talking about her now irrelevant ass.

Bring on the age of Risa and Monaca.

I feel like there are a handful of pages that are a lot more just like western fashion, but the rest is just a winter issue, there's also a best of 2015 cosmetics items review
>>
Can I ask a little of a dumb question here? I've not much idea of larme, except it being cute but not too cute and more mature girly style. So my question regards OTT larme (aka swankiss): what's the difference between ott larme kei and cult party kei? They look 100% the same to me
>>
>>8791157
There is no OTT larme, it's just Swankiss. They're their own brand and have there own style, but some items happen to be suitable for larme.
>>
>>8791159
*their own style (sorry)
>>
>>8791159
Oh really? Didn't know that! I thought swankiss is just larme but an OTT form of it (someone mentioned it somewhere, forgot where). So swankiss IS sth like cult party kei but parts of their collection can be used for larme.

Next question: are there any good makeup tutorials for larme or keywords to search for good makeup closeups?
>>
>>8790802
>Amo would still be popular if she didn't pop out a kid. She fucked up her career. But well maybe she was already getting too old anyway.
Nah, the reason why she suddenly wanted to get pregnant was because of all the japanese truth blogs about her, calling her Japan's Dakota so she used it as coverup reason to disappear.
>>
>>8791180
Amo is fucking gorgeous in person. When she got married I think a lot of her husband's fans got jealous. A baby after marriage is a pretty normal progression
>>
>>8791180
Wait, what is Amo's drama? Calling her Japan's Dakota is pretty extreme.
>>
In the master list, could we add more info on which things work for larme and which don't and why, like the pic of the shoes on the FAQ page?
>>
Larme isn't really a fashion, why is there a thread for it?
>>
>>8791354
This! Haha it's literally just older girls/women dressing up and doing makeup in a 'cute' (but basic af) way
>>
>>8791354
>>8791355
Contribute or get out, if you don't like what the thread is about why are you here?
>>
>>8791275
There is no drama. She's just a little dumb that's all. I agree with the other anon, getting a kid at 20 something was a big mistake and that guy completely alienated her. She was a big deal back in the day, i really enjoyed her collaborations with Ayamo, Katie, Zipper...etc Well, i hope she's enjoying her life now.
>>
>>8791371
I didn't say that I don't like it. I just can't see how it's a fashion style for itself. Japanese girls dress like this for years now and it only recently transformed into somewhat of a trend.

But Ipd like you to explain to me in what way you think or know why it is/has to be seen as a fashion style on it's own. Thank you

>>
>>8791406
I read it and don't get it. Especially the makeup point. What is the main point of larme makeup? Does it even have a main point?

And the clothes are as stated, mostly casual. So all in all it's just as I said before, girls wearing 'cute' clothes as if theylve never done that before
>>
>>8791413
dude just watch the video holy shit
>>
>>8791420
I watched that goddamn video abot three times.

But hey, so even people like you who act like they know about larme can't explain or give their own proper examples of what this style is about. Great.

I just want an explanation. And the one above in form of an excel tablet is...ugh...not what I was searchin'for. Since that's just what I also knew before.

I want to know the SPECIAL points of the makeup like they exist in gyaru. If it is that important for the style why not explaining the main point of it? Like the op of that did about the clothes? Just tell me what's important in that style thanks
>>
>>8791413
Even if it is just cute clothes why the salt? Cute clothes is still fashion though. God not everything has to be so strictly defined to qualify as a "legit" fashion.
>>
>>8791432
I'm not salty. I just think if you see yourself as part of a fashion trend you can explain it's main points to others. And I just asked for the main points of this fashion, especially the makeup, because I was searching for larme on tumblr, google, youtube etc but I don't really see a main point for the makeup even though it's stated to be very important for this style. The only thing similar is the abuse of blush, but that kind be it or is it? Just explain please that'd be nice. Since actually I want to know more about larme
>>
>>8791426
OK then special points:

Heavy blush under the eye
Bright red or pink lips
Eye makeup seems to be fairly neutral, but still very "dolly"
Dark hair in messy, non-perfect styles, many models have slightly lighter brown hair than their natural shade, but still dark
Fringes or bangs or "forelocks" (although there are many hairstyles in the magazine that skip this but still look good, if for whatever reason you can't have them)
Dusty colours rather than bright pastels
Cherry, heart and lip motifs
Combination of "light" and "heavy" items
Something sad or dark to "mature" the look rather than it being super cutesy like other jfashions

Specifics regarding clothing is hard to talk about because you can't really judge a single item on whether it is considered "larme" or not, it has to be about how it works with the whole outfit. I guess there are some things that come up a lot (heart cut out turtlenecks, pom poms, corset lacing, pencil skirts etc.) but there isn't a particular uniform like in lolita. There are also some things that you wouldn't immediately consider appropriate that can still work, and the magazine has used trends in other fashions and made them work for the aesthetic.

Honestly I would recommend just buying some magazines because I didn't get larme until I'd actually read a couple, and scans aren't really the same. There's no real way to explain it it's literally just the ~feeling~ of the coords and the photoshoots.

If anyone else wants to correct me on anything please do
>>
>>8791457
Thank you SOO much! That's all what I asked for.

Your description explains the style so well. Especially the makeup part.

Do larme girls wear fake lashes on an everyday basis or can they be let out?
>>
>>8791408
I was thinking the same thing. That or alcohol/drugs.
>>
>>8791524
Cortisone or psychotropics can have the same effects. It doesn't really look like 'it's her fault' to look like that. So I'd prefer to not make further assumptions without any proves for it
>>
>>8791457
>dark hair
Because most of the models are Japanese, numb nuts. And even when they're westerners brown and black hair are the most common hair colors in the world. If a blonde girl wants to wear larme I'm sure that it would be fine for her to do so without needing to change her hair.
>>
>>8791432
>>8791420
Watching a video doesn't change the fact it's not a fashion style

I don't think blonde hair looks right in larme unless it's closer to brown. Saramari pulls of the look really well but her hair really lets the whole look down imo. I can't stand dyed blonde hair that isn't toned.
>>

Sorry for having natural blomde hair and not being willed to ruin it with dark colors(also I look like shit with dark hair, tried it with wigs, it just doesn't fit my facial features). Anyway the larme hair colors are pretty natural aka dark brown, brown, black. So someone who's natural blonde will be fine, because for them it's their natural color

>>8791606
>>8791600
Pic related has the right look with a medium brown colour, and I think if she was blonde it would still be fine. What I would nitpick about saramari is that her eye makeup isn't "soft" enough, because she uses black instead of brown. Could be a result of her being an ex-gyaru(?).

I think dark colours are just what we're used to seeing in Larme, but any natural, soft hair colour could be incorporated.

>>
>>8791540
dark hair IS an aspect of larme, especially when so many more 'out there' Japanese fashions put a lot of emphasis on hair dying, primping and lightening. Larme often talks about 'dark hair looks', it's part of their image.

Of course we know that Japanese people haven naturally dark hair and most of the world as a whole, that really is offering nothing to the thread and not even the stupidest people of /cgl/ need that pointing out.

what the hell happened to this thread man, all the other larme threads have been really informative with lots of relevant pictures. sadly I think we needed that sticky back as it covered so many questions that come up over and over again, there were some good suggestions for updating it in the previous thread as well.

Anyway, more pics.
>>
>>8791919
I'm the original sticky maker. I'm sorry, I was too busy over the holidays to remake the thread and so I guess this all happened? I also made the brands list which needs a major overhaul. I never posted it but I was also working on an FAQ on a Google doc, since I don't think it works as well on the spreadsheet.

What would you guys most want to see in the FAQ? Obviously an explanation of the style and some examples, and I remember that people wanted to compile tips from the threads like Larme hair styles for black hair, etc.

you're doing a great job, don't worry about absences, I'm just glad there are people like you willing to help out and put the effort in - it's seriously appreciated.

I think making sure we have an outline of what larme is and isn't is a good idea whilst also emphasizing that's it's more of an aesthetic ideal than a fashion with distinctive guidelines and 'rules' like some j-fash followers may be more familiar with - anything to help stop the tedious posts we've seen cropping up in this thread. I think this anon >>8793172
nails it - larme isn't a super distinctive 'out there' j-fash but it has enough about it to separate it from regular mainstream and conservative fashion, it still has an identity and this has become very clear to me after buying and going through the magazines. Larme is not like otome, general gyaru or himekaji either. If anything to me it's a bit like a Japanese take on ultra feminine hipster type fashion, with the carefree 'for myself' attitude associated with aomoji-kei, but with a more mature and streamlined look - easy on the embellishments, accessories etc.

I think taking some of the tips and ideas for black hair from the previous threads would be a good idea for sure, especially as I've seen a few repeat questions on the subject pop up here.

Saramari's 'what is and isn't' quick guide might be a great thing to include too (also posted in a previous thread), even if it's just a link to her page or someone's own take on her picture guide.

Some of the 'typical' larme looks for makeup might be a good thing to include as well, I think there were a few decent youtube links given in the last thread as well as some decent picture tutorials.

The last thread was actually great for content which is why this current thread looks so lacking in comparison, if someone would be willing to go through the archive and pick out the most useful posts from previous threads to help update the google doc etc, that would be really great.

Does anyone here shop Onespo? Some of their clothing were featured in Larme and the prices are actually affordable.

I just found this (short) guide to Larme brands that has a pretty good explanation of how not every brand featured in Larme is always Larme kei:
http://mitsuru-hime.blogspot.ca/2015/12/larme-kei-brands.html
>>
Is the larme facebook group worth joining? I don't have an account but I would consider making one if it's active or helpful.
>>
>>8800752
depends what you think is helpful. It's a mix of brand updates, personal blogging (like magazine hauls), outfit posts and discussion. I think it is a good mix of small and active, easy to keep up with. even though the brand updates and reviews are occasional, it's nice to have somewhere to discuss larme at all.

Amo looks so pretty to me still.
She was 24 when she had the kid, right? That's not super young.

I don't really understand Japan when it comes to celebrity pregnancies. But here's 2 examples with really different perceptions.
>Tsuji Nozomi - Obvious shotgun wedding due to pregnancy at age 20. Becomes more famous for being a mama.
>Goto Maki - Pregnant at age 30 and does a photoshoot. Pic related. It's a scandal! Look at her wearing high heels and showing cleavage! Think of the baby!

So I wonder if Amo's lack of activity is due to choice or damaged goods.
>>
>>8800752
There's new content about as frequently as there is here, but the main difference is that there are a lot more photos of members than models. There are also sales posts occasionally (which is now a Sunday thing).

If you're looking for more larme discussion in your life, definitely give it a go!

Maki's whole life is surrounded in scandal (her father not being around, her mothers death, her brothers incarceration.) . If papers print anything about her it would have to be scandalous in a way.

Tsuji lucked out because Ai's scandal was so huge that anything she did wasn't that bad. W was inactive at the time (so she really wasnt a superstar idol anymore), and everyone was so wrapped up with Ai's madness that Tsuji was just able to be like "Oh I'm getting married to ultraman!" with little reaction.

What's with all this celeb mag style gossip? Can we try to keep things a bit more directly larme fash?

Love the outfit in pic related. I have come to find though that a lot of these brands don't look too great on the hangers, the styling is really import and perhaps an ability to see past sad looking clothing on yahoo auctions etc and recognize their potential. I find following the larme associated brand blogs etc helps too, that way you can see how things fit even if we might not all be cute petite Japanese girls.

I'd love to see a master post on how to get started building a larme wardrobe. I find that I keep going for OTP Swanskiss-esk pieces. It would also be nice to have a guide to look at while thrift shopping. Any tips, anons?
>>
>>8806327
Yo, I love these dresses. What brand are these?
>>
>>8809294
I just downloaded a lot of magazine scans and looked for stuff in local stores that resembled those things. I go for the more casual stuff though, not Swankiss lol.
>>
>>8809294
The most promising sections to me in a thrift store to me are the skirts, the sweaters, and the blouses. Some people might find nice things in the lingerie/sleepwear section too, but that's a little icky for me. In any of these sections, you've just kind of gotta scan for nice colors and textures:

Colours: Black, white, grey(or small blackxwhite prints), pastels (especially dusty pastels), red

Textures: Angora, mohair, velvet, really anything fluffy to touch, (faux) leather, chiffon, lace, anything else that's girly and/or interesting

Then you pull the item out and give it an assessment. Does it have any details you've seen in the magazine? Can you add details you've seen in the magazine? Is it a nice cut? Is it too office worker-y? Is there anything you don't like about it? Can you remove what you don't like about it? Will it complement things you already own?

And then you try it on, and buy it if it fits (or if you think you can tailor it).

Definitely the skirt, you can see some examples of tulle skirts above in the thread.

The dress possibly, but to me it loses a few points for the bare elasticated waist and neckline. With the right accessories - maybe a ribbon or patent leather belt, a hairbow, sheer dotted socks - you're good to go.

I'll keep my eye out for the skirt, thanks for the heads up!
Really love the outfits you've put together! They're both versatile, and I'd say that you could get even more mileage out of the second one by incorporating some more red (e.g. switching shoes or black skirt for a red one) so then you actually have three outfits

I love seeing other gulls experimenting with larme. Keep up the good work guys!
>>
>>8806327
I love larme too for a similar reason. It's very casual and perfect for daily life, it has a gothic vibe sometimes but never going too tacky or over the top. I'm always a goth at heart too, i sorta identify with the subculture but i love more frilly and delicate clothing rather edgy and too bat shitting outfits. There are many larme outfits that a goth could totally wear with no issues, like these black and white outfits with peter pan collars and velvet chokers and crosses.
>>
I've been wondering, has anyone picked up larme 19 and been kinda disappointed by it? I was so hyped for it but compared to 18 it just doesn't seem to have the same gorgeous photo sets and instead comes across a lot messier and generally cluttered. For me the clean look and beautiful photos was its major appeal and created a real stand out point from all the other j-mags. I hope it's not going to continue in the style represented in larme 19, something about it almost feels rushed as well.

Perhaps I'm being unfair as 19 has a lot of 'how to' and model insider type focus so maybe they wanted to to include a lot of useful tips and tutorials before going back to a layout more like 18, I dunno. Not to mention those articles are pretty much lost on me as I can't read much Japanese.

I guess I'm just sour because I spent the last of my 'fun stuff' money on it and didn't get anywhere near as much enjoyment from chilling out with a copy as I thought I would. I loved being swept up in the appealing world they created with their earlier additions.

I just flipped through the newest issue that came out today (20) and meh, don't think I'll be buying Larme anymore.
>>
>>8815343
Really? I feel the opposite, I like that its so scattered because it gives me a lot to think about, and also a lot of options for people who like the style but not certain elements. If it was just one theme the whole way through I would get bored more easily.

I'm glad you're still enjoying it anon, for me though the 'scattered' look is what so many j-fash mags already do, and the ones that do go for a cleaner look tend to have less interesting and 'arty' images when showcasing clothing. I loved the idea of 'sweet girly artbook' as a concept that aims to break more conventional magazine formats. The editor of larme also stated that she wanted to focus on dreamy fantasy type imagery rather than just showcase lots of outfit and clothing mixes across single pages.

I've also noticed that there haven't been so many scan uploads to tumblr etc of larme 19 and I have a feeling it's mostly due to the lack of large and 'arty' images to fawn over. I do appreciate that people find 'how to' guides, lots coordinate examples etc useful, that stuff was just never the main draw for me.

Different anon, I only have outfit pics and don't feel confident enough to share those. The other anon has the pics covered anyway.

But as a general review of the bag...the items are right in between traditional larme-kei and the more swankiss side of the style, they can fit into larme or they can be dressed up to be more out there. So that's a big plus!

The lace top is my favorite piece since layering is such a big part of the fashion. It's nicely made and really soft and has a really cute neckline.

The skirt is my least favorite item, but I don't really like elastic waist bands that much so that might be why. It's also shiny, which is cute, but a little OTT> It's cute enough but a little bit too immature for my tastes.

I didn't expect to like the sweater because of the sequins but the cut is sooooo cute, it's like 90's style. It's versatile too, can be worn with a skirt and heels or jeans and sneakers.

The dress kind of reminds me of monlilly items, it's subtle but still quirky enough for larme. The fabric has a great texture, kind of felty, and it's really heavy so it can definitely be worn for winter if you layer it right.

And we've all seen the coat in pictures already but heads up...IT'S SUPER SOFT.

I'll do this in parts.

First up is the bag.

It's really soft and every bit as cute as the picture. The closure is magnetic, so I am going to make sure to be careful when I open it to avoid tearing. It doesn't feel cheap though, so I'm not worried about it ripping, I just want to be careful. The inner compartment is lined and has a zipper closure. The bottom has a stiff material in it to help it keep its shape. Finally, the shoulder strap feels sturdy. It's a pleather material, so I know it won't last forever, but it is a decent quality and I don't see it flaking unless I abuse it.

This is the coat from the product photo. It's extremely soft. There are two pompoms on the end of strings, but they are purely aesthetic. There are two pockets on the front shaped like hearts. I wouldn't put anything in there for safe keeping, but they are large enough for my hands and they are really cute. Instead of buttons, there are magnetic closures. Again, I'm going to be careful. The coat doesn't feel like it will tear around the metal, but better safe than sorry. The back doesn't have any embellishment, but that's fine. It hits me mid thigh. I'm 5'2".

Here is the knit Sequin Pullover.

It's very comfortable and fits loosely. It reaches the top of my hips. The sequins are opalescent and are sewn on very securely. I will definitely hand wash this though. The back doesn't have embellishment, but that's fine. The front's design is enough. I like to wear my hair down, so I feel bad sometimes when there are a lot of details on the back of things.

Here is the White Sparkle skirt that you can see the waistband of in the worn pullover pic.

The skirt is three layers. The inner one is a slip, the middle is a stiff tulle with glitter in it, and the outer one is a softer tulle with little ribbon roses sewn onto the hem. The skirt is a bit sheer, I would wear some white shorts under it. Other than that, it's a cute, simple piece. You could coordinate it with the pullover, or use it for something else. I really like how versatile it is.

The other top in the bag is a sheer black lace top.

It's got some stretch, but lengthwise, not width wise. The arms were big enough for me, but if you actually lift, they might be too small. The Pullover would work for loads of body sizes, but this top is a bit more restrictive. (There is also no elastic at the wrists, so I had to work my hands through carefully.) The pom pom at the neck is removable. It has a pin on the back. There is an invisible zipper with a hook and eye closure at the back of the neck. The zipper goes down to mid back. It's a comfortable piece though and it is a nice Larme layer.

The OP of the bag is really nice. This and the coat are the best quality out of everything.

There is a zipper on one side with a hook and eye closure. The material is thick, making it nice for cooler weather and it's lined. The bow detail on the back is so cute. It's probably my favorite detail of this dress. The little pleats at the bottom are also adorable.

This dress goes well with the lace top.

Here is the Pullover and Skirt together. I tucked the top into the waist because the hem of the top is too narrow to leave it untucked with this skirt. It pushes down the poof and just looks awkward.

And here is the Pink Bow OP with the Black Lace top.

I really liked how the pieces in this set could be coordinated together or used for other outfits. It's a great addition to a Larme or jfash wardrobe because there are lots of opportunities to mix and match with items you already have.

I have a few worn pictures, but they aren't that great quality because it's harder to get clear pictures with my phone when stuff isn't laid out flat with light pointed directly at it.
>>
This is weird, usually lps are lower quality than a brands regular stuff, this all looks better quality that normal.
>>
I have big, puffy, round lips like >>8806343 but my eyes are deepset and heavy lidded. How do I look more innocent without too much makeup? I just usually don't wear any at all, but if just a bit would help me, I'd probably look way cuter. I have soft, round features but my eyes really ruin it! I also wear glasses and I'm afraid of touching my eyes, so contacts are hard for me to put in. I've never once managed it and nobody else has been able to either from my flinching.
>>
>>8818625
Use highlighting concealer to lift the deepset areas. Also don't do thick eyeliner. In fact, if you can get away with tightlining, only go for it.
>>

thanks so much for sharing anon, swankiss isn't really my style but I love how accessible and versatile this is and the quality really does look good. This is honestly one of the best lucky packs I've seen for this year, including the lolita ones.

I kinda like the idea of trying out items like pic related but in a more mature and toned down kinda way as well.
>>
>>8819328
No problem. I agree that this is a great lucky pack. I've gotten Liz Lisa trunks two years previous, but since they didn't do any this year, I decided to get this Swankiss one.
>>
>>8818376
I'm so salty that this OP doesn't fit me, when I pull close the hook I feel the constant boob pressure and its uncomfortable to breathe.
Either nipponpon girls too flat or I'm too fat for this shit. Everything else fits nicely though.
>>
>>8819823
Sell it to me, anon!
>>
>>8819823
What is your bust measurement? I forgot to give an estimate for sizing. I agree that it's probably unkind to busts over 84cm. The waist didn't seem especially tiny though.
>>
>>8819823
Mine fits but just barely, and I'm flat chested as hell. I attributed it to my rib cage.

>>8818353
Glad I'm not the only one who had trouble getting my hands through the sleeves, i was worried I had abnormally wide hands!
>>
>>8819860
No worries on the wrist/hands thing. I thought it was weird that they'd try a thinner wrist fit without buttons or elastic. But hey it's clothing mass produced for trendy fashion.
>>
>>8819823
If you don't want it, I'm interested if you sell it.
>>

To me it looks like a combination of the piece of hair, the tilt of her head, and the white reflection from her dress.

What?? is this all their clothing? bra sizes in America start at 32in bust right? that type of thinness i model status.
>>
>>8814816
I think we should. I bet it'd pick up traction with the discussions too.
>>
>>8821779
It's definitely not uncommon for asian clothing. Height and bone size make a pretty big difference and while not all asians have small busts they are much more common.

Most of their bust measurements are around 80cm. Some of them are literally smaller than my ribcage by a cm or two. Asians just have smaller bone structure (and they are also probably only catering to the thinner asians, at that)
>>
>>8821779
It comes from being over all smaller as a population. The average height in East Asia is smaller than the Average height in Europe, the U.S., Canada, Australia, etc. The overall trend when you get taller, it to get a bit wider as well.

You don't have to be model thin. I'm 5'2" with a 81cm bust at a healthy weight. Depending on your sources, 5'2" is average height in Japan for women. So, 50% of women are at or shorter than that.

that makes sense but damn. i'm not saying that that frame is unhealthy but being 5"7 130lbs i'd have to work my ass off to get that small.
>>
>>8822031
Yes. One of the reasons why jfashions don't get very popular is that even if we discount the fact that Western people nowadays tend to be overweight, it's extremely rare for non-Asians to have frames that tiny.
