For all Melbourne conventions I've found that if they're in the Royal Exhibition Building (next to the museum) they tend to be pretty bad.
Case in point, last year's comic con was pretty awesome (at the convention and exhibition centre) but the one before that was overcrowded and had terrible panel set-up (reb).
