I like simpler frames with lolita. Old-fashioned round lenses or those oval half-frame "librarian" lenses. Sadly, neither of these styles suit me, so I have basic rectangular frames and generally remove them for photos.

Bulky plastic frames. They look childish, and not in a cute, sweet way.

I'll poke around to see if I have many saved. I think most of them are like pic related, where the photo is too small to see the glasses too clearly.

I think Buttcape has a few different pairs of glasses that she wears, but something I've often noticed is that she uses cute glasses chains. I think that's something that would be nice to see in more OTT stylings, actually. Not the granny-style ones, but elaborate chains attached to brooches on your coord.
Can't tell if she's wearing one in pic related, or if those chains are attached to the hat. But I know she's done it before.

It's like. Jewellery for your glasses, I guess? This one attaches a cuff to your ear before dangling down and is a bit OTT, but could be a nice way to goth up simpler frames.

I've noticed the rounder looking frames (which I love) tend to be just for show 'fashion glasses', a lot of the girls you see in Japanese fashion snaps etc wear those as well. What I'd like to know is where I can get legit sturdy frames that can sustain a proper prescription and daily wear.
Pic related are my dream glasses. Pretty much all the ones in store at opticians are the narrowish square framed or massive hipster type styles. I've seen some lovely vintage frames on ebay but there's always the concern that I can't try them on.

Zenni has a few round pairs available, but my issue are the bridge pads. I'm dying for a pair of metal frames that don't have bridge pads, because they leave such hideous marks after long-term wear.

Oh man. I have multiple pairs of these back plastic-y hipster glasses, and honestly never realised how they ruin my coord until recently. Can anyone help me decode what made these look decent and acceptable? I wear mainly classic sweet, and the black feels too heavy. I'm too broke at the moment to get a new pair and taking tjem off isn't an option, because I'm too blind. Am I basically screwed until I get hold of some nice granny glasses and take them to prescription?

The overall styling. Heavier glasses tend to look okay if you're doing the ironic-historical thing (meaning, bowler hats and tweed kind of historical) or an "academic" bent. The outfits you've linked to have a sort of schoolgirl look to them in each instance. Playing up the "nerdy" nature of the glasses, while still contrasting it with feminine frills. Basically.
