how do you crossplayers deal with leg hair? Last time i crossed i shaved and it was a massive pain in the ass, even though I only shaved part of my leg because I was wearing high socks. I dont think it's worth it for me to get a wax treatment because I only dress for certain occasions.
Are there stockings opaque enough to conceal very thick and coarse leg hair without looking fake/stockingy? Also will that help hide the muscle definition in my calves?

Maybe try using an epilator? Albeit it hurts a bit more when you don't do it often, but it's easier than shaving for me and I like how I can just do it in the shower.

I epilate my chest hair and armpit hair all the time and it's great, but when I tried to epilate my legs it was horrible. I only got through the first half of one of my calves, and the hair started growing back the next day and I got a bunch of ingrown hairs.
With my chest and armpits the hair usually doesn't start growing back for a couple of days.
How was it for you the first few times? Any tips?

I don't blame you. It scared me at first, but then I weighed having to reshave constantly or waxing and decided to give it a shot. It is a lot easier after a few epilations and really nice in a hot shower (make sure you get the water-proof one if you do try this).
I don't get red marks/bumps like some others may have. Be sure to follow directions like the proper angle to hold the epilator at and to go against the grain. Also it helps to physically exfoliate your skin with something like those korean wash towels.

You can try to play with proportions and wear skirts that flare out more at the hip for fashion that require a more feminine look. I also know this struggle, but honestly just own it. It looks great in the pic you posted. For normie/western fashion, strong shoulders are a plus.

I have made good experiences with self-adhesive silicon pads (e.g. http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KVMQPHY (not necessarily exactly those, that was just the first usable search result I got)). Also buying cosplays can be tricky. Just look for one and if you find one that looks good find reviews for that site/store just to double check. There are a lot of bad quality cosplays out there that the shops will make look good with nice photography and Photoshop.

Just to add to this I take care of legs with just a cheap straight razor I got from a swap meet. It is nicely sharp and I can pretty much do a pass from ankles to waist and have it perfectly smooth. One pass against the growth direction and I have no issues, it does take a bit more positioning and care to get my kneecaps and behind my knees, but I can clear the hair with it and only have slight regrowth noticeable about 3-4 days later.
Face wise I'm unlucky enough to have to shave every day so I don't look like a backwoods mountain man who fights bears with his hands, so you may be able to go longer between leg shaves than I can.

Pad your body out enough so the proportions are all feminine and choose the right cosplay or general outfit and you can easily enough pass believably.
