Being "famous" doesn't make it good. The streaky application, the fact that you can see where the white ends (and ends sloppily), and the cringy "glitter blood" effect is just fucking awful.

Speaking of eyebrows, would it be possible to pull off shironuri with dark, thick brows? I've been wanting to try it for ages, but shaving my eyebrows isn't something I'm willing to do, and they only match dark wigs well, which I rarely see in shironuri. They're shaped pretty well, but impossible to cover up.

With the right theme to your makeup I'd say so yes. However an alternative to shaving your eyebrows is you could bleach them! It's actually pretty simple thing to do at home. That would make it easier to cover/color ect.

I think if you want to, covering them up is also possible. If you glue them like drag queens do and use a good make-up, like the one Minori uses. You might be able to cover your eyebrows completely.

Anyways on to the review. I don't have swatches with me because I left them at college and I'm home now.
I should start by saying that I applied them in the same way and used mitsuyoshi 2-way cake to set both of them.
The texture of the mitsuyoshi greasepaint was wonderful. It applied easily very easily with the method minori demonstrated. And was very opaque when set with the two way cake. HOWEVER it's almost too soft, as in you go through it very quickly. It didn't help that I bought the smaller size (if you wanna get it spend the extra money and get the larger size). So that's why I ran out of it after the Halloween party and scrambled to find a substitute in time for Halloween, and ended up buying mehron clown white off amazon.
Also I danced a lot at the party and my makeup didn't get sweated off so that's good.
I didn't really like mehron... The paint felt... Tacky? Kind of sticky. It's very thick and that made it difficult to apply with the dabbing method because it would leave a raised texture behind when you pulled the sponge away. However you get a lot more for your money and you don't have to order from Japan and pay high shipping fees. It worked fine for Halloween and I wore it for probably over 6 hours without much issue but I really didn't like how thick it was.
As for the two way cake, the compact it comes in is huge and has a built in mirror. But it does not come with puff or sponge to apply it so make sure you have your own (you want the velvet kind of puff, not the fluffy kind)
The powder is what really makes the paint look good, it was thick and hid imperfections in the paint very well both times. It also helped me cover large portions of my eyebrows so i could create the short brows

i recommend mitsuyoshi over mehron

I personally don't because it's a fashion make up, not a cosplay. You already know I have a flesh coloured neck so whatever. I guess if you're doing a "prettier" fashion (like sweet/classic loli or mori) it has to do with the "etheral being" aesthetic, in contrast to the horror imagery often used in japanese shironuri.
It's also worth noting that a lot of japanese shironuri don't, and that it's never been standard. Minori cover any non-white skin with clothes or wigs etc. so I suppose that's where the misconception comes from.
Also painting your neck is a bother anyway. Just do a fade and you're good.

Same anon you replied to, you should have used latex (if you aren't allergic) and made the wounds yourself. Latex moves really well with the skin and there are a good amount of tutorials on making scars and wounds with latex + household materials like toilet paper. Latex is fairly cheap, even the big bottles, the most expensive might be high quality blood, but even that can be made at home.

It's hard to tell because the photo is so-so, but I think you're onto something. You would probably benefit from including a larger range of reds, though. Maybe do something of a fade for the lips? Also I'm not sure if you're going for a Cheshire smile or not, but if you are you should probably drag the mouth make up even further down, and if not then don't paint your lips all the way out like that.

Dont use part of the wig to extend the lashes, or at least practice trimming hair to make the lashes look more natural for the make up as using a brighter, smoother red to bring out the white will make it look less smuggy, or be sure to make sure the top coat is dry and properly sealed so that it doesnt smug at all.

This is a very tentative self post, it's in no way a final look, more a work in progress of my very first attempt. I'm sorry my makeup application isn't great (was using water based face paint and old false lashes) but I wanted to test my theme idea before buying better makeup. I wanted a really ghostly look and was inspired by the dress, I wanted to use white, grey and cream/yellow. There's yellow on my lips and under my cheek bones and grey around my eyelids and along my nose/ eyebrows. I placed my lashes intentionally quite far along the outer side of my lid for a droopy eye look, and tried to apply grey powder to them but that didn't really work so I'll get grey lashes in future. But basically is this look worth pursuing? Do you think I could make something work with this once I have the right makeup? Any suggestions for improvement colours wise? I'm not a very adventurous person with makeup so I've tried to stay on the safe side, but I don't know if that makes it too boring. I just want to look really ghostly and a bit sickly. Almost wanted to do a ghost of christmas look with a small wreath around my head and green and red makeup in a similar style. but found I have no green makeup. So yeah, if this is just awful please let me know, but I'm hoping it's salvageable and I can make something work.

Alright so this might be a bit out there (sorry for the awful picture) but I kind of want to do a coord around one of these jackets. I own one myself, and they're honestly super cute. The awful hood is easy to hide in the collar, and that they're kinda bulky make a great contrast with a pair of skinny jeans.
My idea was to do blue wig, yellow wellingtons, a nice pair of blue skinnies, and then blue contacts and lashes, but I'm not sure if it would be overwhelming or silly looking. I'ts admittedly more of a fall coord, but I just got a nice, long, blue wig and came to think of it.
