So how many of you are taking fashion inspiration from anime?
Anyone up on doing closet versions of this for fun?

Hardly a resemblance.
Anyway search the archives for casual cosplay, closet cosplay and disneybound
I read so much of this shit that yeah, it's kinda what keeps me dressing this way.

What is this?

Japanese shoujo comics from the 70's. Made me start wanting to dress in poofy dresses, then I graudated to ouji and BL manga.
I do love modern/70's co-ords, though this might be a bit more pic related for ouji.
Takemiya Keiko and Rioko Ikeda are my main fashion inspo.

nice jacket, time to find something similar

I absolutely am! I take the most inspo from Princess Jellyfish, JJBA, and 80s/90s anime.
I really like a lot of the cosplay normal outfits that Katie does. It can easily pass off as normie clothes. So many things from Sailor Moon just work.

Even though the outfits can get ridiculous at times, the fashion in Nana is great

Are you kidding me? What I am wearing casually since years has a name?!!
I am mainly inspired by cute fun shoujo mangas so there is a bit of uniform-like clothing and lolita clothing/super frilly poofy clothing on some occasions like a date.
Have always wanted to have this as a cute, casual outfit. I honestly think a lot of Pokemon trainer classes can be good for this stuff too.
Also Tokyo Mew Mew.
I want all of Sakura Kinomoto's outfits.

> inspo from JJBA
so... you go out dressed like a runway model?
>>8733382
I dunno if it has a name, but it's definitely a 'thing'. Cosplay Fashion is just the best title for the thread.

You mean a New Yorker or LA normie?

Kobato all the way

This, ever since I was like 12
>Sailor Moon 'cosplay fashion'.
>All of the outfits in Sailor Moon are typical mid-1990s Japanese teenager fashion.
>>8734017
As is most of my 70's shizzle but I'm not much of a stickler for today's fashion, and my boys were dressed _fine_ so ofc I'm going to emulate the styles I enjoy from the medium I like.
>>8733439
As much as possible.
>>8734017
they are typical mid 90s fashion, theres no doubting it. but the inspiration comes directly from specific outfits they wore in the anime. it's not cosplay in the sense of "I AM CLEARLY THIS CHARACTER" but taking the inspiration into contemporary wear

I think what anon meant is that the outfits in Sailor Moon are typical mid 90s fashion. Naoko Takeuchi was a fashion enthusiast and many of the outfits she drew the characters in are straight out copies of real clothing of the time.
Where's my Rei pink overall at?

aww
I used to do a little inspiration from Chii in Chobits. I liked little frilly summer shirts and cute fashion.
But I think in my off season time I should make and buy outfits straight out of shows and manga I like for some casual fun
>tfw patiently waiting for 3 Gatsu no Lion's anime adaptation with the hope that Umino Chica will do another clothing collaboration for it
If this happens I'm sure the best cardigans will come from it. I've taken quite a bit of inspo from the protagonist and bought a long navy duffle coat because of the series.

Could you post some of these outfits sometime? You've mentioned dressing this way quite a bit and I also like seventies manga.
It's called the 90's.
