at her booth, she (or an assistant?) told me she casts her items by hand. they do feel fairly solid, and i am sure it is a fair price, but i personally would rather save up for a more unique piece of hers.
by contrast, i have found Moss Marchen's metal to be taobao tier. i doubt she casts her own items, since i can easily find the components she uses on Chinese sites. the workmanship is still good, but also more easily replicatable because of the mass-manufactured components. VooDoooDolly's felt more substantial in comparison.
not sure if that helps, but it is my personal opinion, having seen both at cons in person.

Ok, but at the same time there's only a certain level of distinction you can achieve when using wholesale/non-copyright materials. They are nice, but overhyped in my opinion. I've always wondered why the rosaries cost what they do considering they can be made by anyone with minimal jewelry skills. The parts you can get from Ebay/Etsy for pretty cheap.
The MM embroidery necklaces ARE worth the price, however. I've seen them in person and they appear to be very high quality. I agree with >>8730480 on that regard.

i think part of the hype is because of the aura around the designer. her floord shots showcase her products beautifully, she hosts events, is not involved in drama, things like that. sometimes the brand name is worth the price to people.
