I've been attending Brisnova for ages and it's becoming less and less fun every time. Now I mostly just use it to meet up with friends that I don't see very often.
What do you guys enjoy most about cons? What would you consider a "must see/do"? I want to make it fun again.
Is the Aus dollar killing anyone else at the moment? Cosplay and Lolita are expensive enough hobbies as is.

I find Supanova in general to be really boring now. There's not even any anime stuff these days to keep me even slightly interested. Instead of Japanese voice actors, they just get the same few Roosterteeth people instead.
Then there's the overselling of tickets. Someone should call whatever is our equivalent to a fire marshal when Supanova is on because the place gets so overcrowded I swear it's a serious fire and safety hazard. It was more akin to a mosh pit than a convention. Some idiot kid is going to bring a flashbang or something one year and start a fatal stampede.

It's kind of disgusting how little effort they put in, and worse still, the same issues prevalent with Supernova, can also be found with Comicon, or at least, from what I can tell with my experience with both in Adelaide.
If you want pictures with cosplayers, don't buy a ticket, just wait out the front.
If you want merch, online shopping does still exist, it is still 2015.

Last time I enjoyed a Supanova was when they had Bleach's voice actor and director. Wasn't a fan of Bleach, but the Q&A panel was interesting. It was just nice to have something for the anime fans direct from Japan and not just Vic Mangina for the 100th time.
And yeah, I don't buy anything there except maybe a t-shirt if it's good quality. Kinda sucks overall though because I only really go because of friends now and they're obsessed with shopping and I have nothing to do at the con between that. Also, going into the vendor hall is just shit in general. Last Goldnova left me with bruises and an open wound.
