Evidently you've never been in a drawthread before. These threads are just for fun. Artists get to practice, no matter what their skill level, and their art can be appreciated by their subjects. The people who post here get free art of themselves. It's consistently one of the most positive threads on /cgl/ because of this. I'm willing to bet that you and the other "art critics" here aren't seagulls yourselves. I don't know if you expected highly detailed oil paintings with expansive backgrounds, but for most people, just being drawn is a nice experience.
