Anyone know anything about "hair chalk" and how well it works / if it looks any good. Trying to do an Ichigo cosplay possibly and I have pretty dark brown hair. Seems like the easiest way to get my hair a different color non-permanently.

I like hair chalk. I've never seen anyone do their whole hair with it, but its a great way to temporarily change hair color.
Also, meh, I think real hair is always better than a wig, no matter how bad or unstyled it is, especially for a more casual cosplay.

Hair chalk rubs off on fucking everything. The only thing I would recommend it for is eyebrows and even then you're better off with theatrical hair color.
Temp spray hair color is the same stuff in a spray can. If you're cheap, since theatrical hair color comes in a big ass bottle, you can get a spray can for $3, spray it on a toothbrush, and apply it with that.

I miss being 14 sometimes.
Hair chalk would rub off too quickly at a convention. Temporary spray-dye looks awful, if you're going that route.
Just get a wig. Epic Cosplay has fast shipping if you're in the US. As long as the wig is one of those punky ones, it'll nail Ichigo's hair effortlessly.

Hair chalk is usually used for bangs or small areas. Hairchalking the entire hair won't work. A wig looks better and it's easier to style, anyway.

Oh man, there was this girl at Youmacon last week that tried the spray in. I really wish I'd taken a pic to use as an example of why you wear wigs.
Anyway, I really don't understand why people still do this when decent wigs are so cheap. Or go ahead, use chalk so we can post you in the bad cosplay threads later.

If you use two cans of spray you can get a decent look but it rubs off where it touches your costume. My friends seriously thought I was wearing a wig last time I did it
