Specifically things that have happened to you.
>at metrocon cosplaying OC

>goku forcefully grabs me from behind and lifts me into air
>feel hard dick press against my ass
>check snapchat for metrocon later, goku allegedly got arrested for sexual assault
>pic related, it's me and the goku

tell us more about this goku
>>
>>8695447
Holy shit I remember this guy. My friend and I were in stitches when we saw him get escorted out.
>>
The most cringe thing that usually happens is when someone wants a photo and poses right in front a huge group of people
>>
>At Banzaicon cosplaying Captain Falcon because I love memes with my friends as Eva from MGS 3
>For her costume she has to have her jumpsuit unzipped in the front, and she was missing a costume piece that would help cover up a little more
>We were waiting for her friend to bring said costume piece and just hanging out
>I notice some guy wearing a black wig that looked like he stored it outside staring at her tits
>Not looking, STARING. I barely recall him blinking.
>After about five minutes, he walks up
>My helmet does not protect me from the stench
>He smelled like he hadn't showered in months, with his grease really bringing out the red in his acne.
>Still enthralled by my friend's chest, he says "You guys wanna go to lunch with me?"
>It's around 9:30am.
> My friend says "Uh, it's kind've early but I think I have plans to go with my friends." and gestures at me.
>He notices me, and let's out a little harumph.
>Well fuck you too
>He turns back to her and says "I'll buy you whatever sandwich you want."
>My friend turns to me looking panicked, she has anxiety issues and was super uncomfortable
>I pipe in "We have reservations somewhere. We had to make them a month in advance."
>He mutters angrily at me, and mutters apologies to her, before moving along.
>We eat fast food later.
>Sporadically see him staring at us throughout the day.

He does make a very, very angry reappearence later, if you want to hear that.
>>
>>8695612
Tell us everything about it anon.
>>
>>8695612
We're ready for story time anon.
>>
>>8695628
Sure

>Some guy notifies me that a nintendo photoshoot is happening.
>Make sure Greaseguy isn't lurking about.
>Ask my friend when her friend is gonna bring her costume piece.
>About five minutes.
>I go and stand outside for ten minutes, waiting for the photographer to show up.
>Everyone's getting super pissed, and I'm just getting uncomfortable.
>I start looking around, checking out some of the good costumes and having a sensible chuckle of the bad costumes.
>One of the doors leading inside slams open, and out comes my friend, powerwalking out, looking terrified.
>Oh fuck, am I about to be a part of a mass shooting?
>As she got closer to me, she must've seen the concern and confusion on the half of my face not covered by my visor.
> She says really shakily "He- The guy showed back up."
>After she recovers, she explains that the guy had cornered her when she was getting a drink from the water fountain.
>Demanded he take her to fucking Jimmy John's.
>She told him that she had to consult me and jetted out of there.
>I look back to the building, and see him literally pressed against the glass, glaring at us.
>Shake my gleaming helmeted head at him.
>He scowls, and retreats from the glass, leaving a huge greasy smear on it.
>Feel sick.
I told my friend that she had to be with someone at all times. Fortunately, her friend bringing the costume piece showed up.
This is where things get spicy.

>Mosey my way into the Dealer's room, getting catchphrases yelled at me and having pictures taken of me Falcon punching people.
>Generally having a blast
>I'm inspecting some merch, when it suddenly becomes difficult to breath.
> I turn around, and Greaseguy was standing so close to me that I'm surprised I couldn't feel him.
>Obviously startled. I say "Oh shit."
>"He furiously breathes at me, fogging my visor and actually getting spittle on it.
>"Why are you doing this to me?"
> "What?"
>Why are you stopping me from getting a date with that beautiful..."
cont.
>>
>>8695657
Couldn't have reported security on him?
>>
>>8695657
>He trailed off. Probably looking for some cringey title like goddess or princess.
>Falcon push him back a foot.
>"Look. You need to stop. You're totally freaking her out, and you're causing a scene. If you talk to either of us again, I'm going to get security."
>He let out a gross chuckle and said "You pushed me. They won't believe you. And I think you're lying that she has a boyfriend. I think you want her for yourself"
>I die inside. I didn't actually think these people existed.
>A security guard I took a photo with because his kid loves Cpt. Falcon walked up.
"Everything all right over here Falcon?"
>I look at greaseguy, who's now edging away from the guard, and say "Nope. I don't think so, at least."
>Greaseguy leaves, and I explain to the guard what's happening, and he says he'll keep an eye on him.
>Find our he removed greaseguy later for "accidentally" tripping and falling onto my female acquaintance.

It was disgusting. I know cons can be a lot of fun, but this was only my second one, and it's kind've put me off a little.
>>
>>8695612
I'm all for sexy costumes, but it seems weird that someone with anxiety issues would wear such a revealing costume.

Glad greaseguy got kicked out. It's hard to improve personality, but there's no fucking excuse for not showering.
>>
>>8695676
>>8695676
Yeah, the anxiety mixed with a sexy costume confused the fuck out of me. She told me her boyfriend had convinced her to do it, and I just figured she was coming out of her shell and stuff.
This probably really set that back.
>>
>>8695688
That's a shame. I hate it when the worst imaginable stereotypes ruin it for everyone.
>>
>>8695693
I seriously thought people like that couldn't exist, or that I would never meet them.
>>
>>8695696
I've certainly met some people at cons with disgusting hygiene, and some creepers who both stare/stalk and also have the courage to ask out, and people with the entitlement to be offended when others say no.

But never all of those wrapped up in one terrible package.
>>
>>8695701
The worst thing is I'll never be able to eat Jimmy John's without remembering him.

This is where I've learned to stick with a buddy during conventions at all times

>San Diego Anime Conji 2010
>Babby's first convention
>I'm beyond excited since i've worked on my Haruko cosplay a few weeks before
>Meet up with buddies
>A few other strangers tag along
>"Whatever my friends probably know them"
>Some guy in army gear mentions how cute my cosplay was and he liked this character quite a lot
>Army guy wanted to take a few pics
>A few strange poses but nothing too Questionable
>Fast forward to evening time
>Surprisingly the army guy is still with us when other strangers had already left
>We all head to the lobby
>Chairs were taken in the lobby not to many left
>Army guys beckons me to sit on his lap
>My 16 Year old self at the time naively does it and at that second I knew I fucked up

cont.
>>
>>8695671
What a creepy dickbutt. I hope your friend isnt afraid of wearing her Eva cosplay now, I love MGS and surprisingly only usually see Sneks and MGRaidens.
>>
>>8695721

>Keep in mind this guy was in his early 20's
>He shifts in his seat
>for quite a while
>I told him I should get off since I thought I was hurting him in some way
>His response was something along the lines of "No don't worry that's just my...my man...my"
>He stutters
>At this point I'm starting to get what he's saying
>panic mode
>My 'friends' aren't doing shit / probably don't notice
>He mentions he wanted to show me something back in his hotel room
>I cut him off and say "Hey ! Uh, weren't we all gonna find that one photo-shoot by the pool ?"
>"There is no photoshoot by this time anon ."
>"It's too late for a photoshoot anon ."
>I'm clearly showing signs of UN-comfortableness by now
>I start to tear up a little but don't show it
>Army guy starts to grope me both bottom and chest
>MFW
>There was a starbucks nearbuy and I tell my friends about going there
>We all head out there and It's fucking closed
>I make my escape
>Until my 'friend' says "what are you doing anon ?"
>I tell them whats going on
>She said shell keep an eye on him
>We head over to a hotel room that was giving away free tacos, super packed
>It's 1AM-ish by now so I Had to leave
>Before I left army guy comes up to me hugs me hard and kisses my cheek
>In complete shock
>I quickly left and texted my friends goodbye

After that I didn't want to go to that convention .I'm still going to conventions, Just not this one in particular and not with the same people
>>
>>8695740
Stupid question, I know, but why didn't you just stand up when he started to grope you?
>>
>>8695740
This brings back bad memories. I'm so sorry you had to endure that, anon!
>>
>>8695753
Not that anon, but when I was 15-16 I got groped too and I was basically frozen in panic and fear. I'd never dealt with a situation like that and my brain just sort of locked up and only thought of stupid shit like "if i freak out I'll look like an idiot to my friends".
>>
>>8695740
Why the fuck didn't you just get up and leave?
God you're fucking dumb.
>>
>>8695826
>>8695753

Exactly this = >>8695768
Thank you anon
>>
>>8695768
When I was around the same age, maybe younger, I also froze in panic when I fell into a boy's lap. I wasn't stupid by any means, but my mind just blanked because of a mix of embarrassment and 'this CAN'T be happening to ME'.
>>
>>8695826
Mindblanking is a normal panic response. If you can't properly decide to do anything due to shock then you'll just stay still and internally freak out.

More on the goku
>smelled really bad
>very aggressive hugging, make face at my friend taking the picture, silently screaming for help
>goku maintains gorilla grip on me, saying nothing, just breathing heavily
>other cosplayers start to walk away
>still being grabbed, terrified at this point
>finally goku lets go
>feel violated in so many ways
>check snapchat later, the pic of them getting arrested is on the official metrocon snapchat story in front of God and everyone

>>
>Cosplay Prussia back in... 2008 AKon? Maybe 2007?
>Well aware of the shit Prussia cosplayers got up to, so I'm on my best behavior
>hanging out with friends, having loads of fun
>spot a HUGE Hetalia group, get excited
>pop over and excitedly say hi, probably annoying, but I was only 15-16, sue me
>see Hungary staring me down
>assume she's annoyed, so I shut up
>get invited to go to lunch
>agree enthusiastically, start walking alongside the Hungary because that's how the group squished down
>See she's holding a frying pan, compliment her on it and her outfit
>she swings
>I hit the ground with a loud thump, head hurting and bleeding a little
>Bitch just clonked me over the head with a fucking CAST IRON SKILLET
>"Don't you even think about flipping up my skirt!"

>>
>>8695991
So many hetalia cosplayers at cons are shitty. I'm sorry you had to have an experience with one of them.
>>
>>8696049
I've had quite a few bad experiences, but this was the only one that put me in the hospital, so it tops my list.

And yet I continue to cosplay Hetalia. I hate myself. But I love Monaco.
>>
>>8695993
Victim of what - stare rape?
Fuck off.
>>
>>8695939
In retrospect, it wasn't even that bad. I mean, falling on someone is the risk you take when you stand up on a moving bus. It's just that all his friends starting to whistle and my younger self's brain just went 'POOF'.
>>
>>8695993
Forgot your #ugh
>>
>>8696069
I had a 14-something girl fall onto my lap once in a moving bus. It's nothing too uncommon.

It was funny, I'm a girl too and even though I kept reassuring her it was okay, she was almost in tears from embarassment. Poor gal.

>>
>first ever con
>just turned 17 and had to beg my mom to let me go since she hates anime
>don't know anybody there but excited anyway
>in shitty first cosplay of Ed Elric
>in dealers room chatting with random peeps
>one of them was a guy in a superman shirt
>everything seems normal
>con day 2
>superman spots me again
>follows me around the entire con
>"oh my god anon your boobs"
>"hey me and my friend are gonna go to our van and drink wanna come watch?"
>wat.png
>"by the end of the day you'll be making out with me"
>I make a point of reminding him several times that I'm 17 and he's 24
>lose him for a while, then he finds me again
>my mom is about to pick me up
>tell superman I need to leave cuz my mom is literally waiting outside the hotel in a car
>"oh let me talk to her anon, I'll persuade her to let you stay"
>awkward laugh and firmly decline
>"okay, but first..."
>suddenly grabs me by the waist and sticks his tongue in my mouth
>so stunned I don't even move
>go back to car and tell mom I had a great time since I don't want her to hate anime even more then she already does

Whenever I tell people this story they always ask why in the fuck did I ever go to another con after that. Creeps are everywhere, not just cons, so while it sucks that that happened, it could have happened someplace else too.

Thing is- not only did they not stop her, they acted like it was normal. I get that Prussias were the Deadpools of Hetalia, but come on.

>>
>>8695997
>>8696066
>>8696174
Point is, you're blaming the girls for their choice of outfits or their non-reaction instead of the creeps and gropers who take advantage of the friendly situation at cons and the girl's shyness
>>
>>8696811
By pointing that out we aren't absolving the culprit of anything, he is 100% in the wrong, but doing literally anything in that situation other than remaining on his lap would have helped.
>>
>>8696811
Blaming someone for their non-reaction is a completely valid argument. If you're going to be a doormat then you deserve to have people walk all over you.
>>
>>8696811
You can do both, you know. Nobody is saying the guy isn't a creep, but the message "don't be a creep" is shouted as loud as possible at all times, and many armchair activists don't seem to get that telling people not to do X doesn't dissuade the people who are already fucker up enough to want to do X in the first place.

A message that we can get out that DOES make a difference is "don't do what this idiot did to get themselves attacked/harassed/robbed/raped/murdered, etc.

I mean, what do you think the more efficacious message here is:
-Don't molest young girls
-Don't sit still and accept it when somebody is molesting you.

Which one do you think will /honestly/ yield more fruitful effect?

Keep in mind that this is a question for the real world, not an idealized world.
>>
>>8696845
>>8696851
>>8696904
This. Everyone is always complaining about how girls have been 'conditioned by society' to accept abuse and mistreatment. Don't take it. Do something. Fight.
>>
>>8696811
she is a victim but you are perpetuating her to continue to be and become a victim again. by being so anti-'victim blaming' we just perpetuate the idea that women are weak.

So I was raped when I was five years old. Are you saying that it's my fault because I didn't fight back?
>>
>>8697110
Yes. Also you're infantilizing a 16 year old by comparing her to a 5 year old.
>>
>>8697120
I wasn't comparing anyone to myself. But apparently /cgl/ thinks that a five year old who has no idea of the concept of what sex is, is at fault for being raped.

You guys are fucking disgusting.

I haven't gone to Otakon specifically because I work with a guy who wears Otakon shirts nearly every day and I can't stand being around him. I've only been to MAGfest since I moved up here, con-wise. It's pretty rad.
>>
>>8697110
That's literally a strawman. Nobody said that. There's a difference between teaching people to protect themselves through example and expecting a literal 5 year old to be able to defend themselves against an adult about something they have no concept of.

I'm sorry that that happened to you, but these two things are competely different from each other. Nobody is going to blame a toddler for not taking care of themselves, but a 16 year old girl willingly sitting on some creepy guy's lap, then sitting there while he grinds his dick on her and then gropes her is a competely different level of possible prevention and self-defense.

That's like saying we shouldn't advise people to eat healthily because some people are starving to death from no available food, and it's impossible for them to eat healthily. The majority of cases, the advice is valid, and taking it to the extreme case doesn't actually invalidate it.

Me and 3 friends were on our way to a convention, but decided to stop by burger king first since we were hungry. We were in our cosplay.

That guy slowly ate his fries and stared at us the entire time we were there. He didn't just look at us once or w/e, he literally stared at us the entire 10+ minutes we were there.

Friends pretend to take a selfie to get a picture of him.
>>
>>8699306
You said JSK and colourway, I'd say you ticked the right boxes to be known as an initiated lolita, if she was being rude then it's not your problem or fault.
Unless she was maybe making a weird face for some other reason, don't worry so much.

Magfest is pretty cool for the fact that it's generally a bit of an older crowd, not as much of the anime teens around.
And thankfully they put a stop to that Colossus meme that was getting out of hand.
>>

Good luck with that. I just finished my first Neutral/True Pacifist run and I've been reading the Undertale Wiki to get extra info and read some discussion. There are 161 comments on the Frisk entry and they're almost all arguing about their gender, like it even matters.

Wasn't at a convention but on Halloween.

>another asked me if I wanted to "hang out" and he could show me a "good time" without my Micky. no thanks.
>happened in the time my boyfriend was gone. The second dude even came back while my boyfriend was with me and kept hitting on me.
>went to my boyfriends work to see some friends, and another random guy came up to me (OBVIOUSLY WITH BOY FRIENDS.)
>Asked if he could be my Micky *winks*. Theb proceeds to try and grab my hand.
>boyfriend moved so fast. Thought he was gonna deck em.

His Co workers told me he tried hitting on them as well. Fucking creepy.
If i heard the pick up line "I can be your Micky ;)" one more time that day I was gonna scream.

Can't greentext on phone. So here is my story...

2001 or 2002 going to AFO in my 8 bit theater costume. Dressed as fighter wandering the con. Meet this tiny qt dressed as utena. We hang out, chat a bit she invites me back to her room. Tells me she has friends staying there and some older guy who paid to sleep on the floor. I get a call from my friends, we won the cosplay skit contest so I run down stairs to get the prize with the others.

Lost track of qt but meet up later in a random room party. And end up back at her room later. She is bi and there is a lot of making out and stuff going on, I don't patly attention to the bed next to us.

Fast forward to 6am knock on the door. I roll onto the floor where I have been "sleeping" the whole night and I hear a huge thud from the other bed. QT gets up and goes out to talk with her grandmother who showed up way too early.

I get dressed in seconds and look over. Some huge greasy guy, balding and in his late 30's is getting dressed to. In the bed is some girl who can't be older than 16...

Most awkward elevator ride ever. I can't look at the guy, every cliché of a pedo and a Jew. Get off at the next floor. "I'll take the next one thanks"

Call qt up to check on everything. Her friend apparently does that a lot.

Seconding, most girls I knew wanted an older boyfriend, and many still do well into their mid-20s. Many think they're more mature than boys their own age, have some kind of daddy or 'savior' complex, or just think an older man is more stable, has more money, and will spend more time on her.

This would have been 11 or so years ago. Back in ye-olden days of Fanime con, when it was all about the music and the halls were not so fucking crowded you couldn't breathe, I was finally old enough to hangout at the con, even after hours, with my friends and no parental supervision, about 16-ish. It helped that I knew most of the staff at the time and wasn't TOO much of an obnoxious twat back then. I could easily get into adult panels, if I couldn't there was always something else to do, and dancing at night.

Day One, Early Afternoon:
>Checking out the center stage activities, watching a game or something with my BFF
>See my older brother sitting a few rows ahead of us, wearing ridiculous bright fucking orange hammer pants type things
>wtf?
>BFF and I walk up to my brother to ask about the stupid pants
>getting closer, almost right up to him, I realize that this is NOT my older brother
>While remarkably similar, this person is younger, anywhere between 19 and 23, and kinda greasier than my brother.
(I don't want to make this guy out to be disgusting when I say greasy, it just looked like he came out of the gaming room after playing some DDR, but it matters later)
>My BFF and I are amazed at how much this person looks like my brother, so we talk to him, show some pictures of my bro, and take a few with the guy to show off to my family later.
>Throughout that day and the next we see him a few times, wave and smile, he seemed like an alright dude
>but the pants remained.

>Still wearing the pants
>We wave at him and he zeros in on me
>Walks straight up to me, ignores my friend who said hi to him
>So tired it didn't even occur to me how weird that was
>"Hey doppelganger dude, hows it go-" I try to say
>"Do you want to go out with me?!"- He butts in
>"uhhh, no sorry you look too much like my brother it would be weird" -I stuttered
>He then slooowwly CARESSES my face with his clearly unshowered mits
>"Oh, but we could be soooo much more" -he attempted to coo
>Rightfully freaked out, I jump out of my seat and threaten to beat the shit out of him with a chair I had grabbed and brandished over my head. (I watched a LOT of anime, weebish overreactions were my forte' as a teenager)
>He finally acknowledges my friend and looks to her, frightened
>"run" -she shruged
>And run he did.
I have had boobs since I was 10 and have been cosplaying since I was 9, so I was already a little bit skilled in denying these sorts of invitations, but this was way too weird for me, and supremely disgusting. I wish I still had the pictures. I think this experience is what made me find men in baggy rave pants more disgusting than they already are.

The only cringe things was during an event in a con where a well-known guy from several tv shows about video games played Soul Calibur with people chosen from the public. I remember at Ayacon a few years back someone organized a fun trivia game-show, Unfortunately the two convention guests they had acquired to partake in the game were voice actors from video games, not anime, and literally knew nothing about anime, not even normie stuff.

It was an entire flop of a game that ended up with most of the answers as "Pass" "Yah I don't know that one." "Sorry." and the only characters they managed to recognize was "Oh, that's one of the girls from that Panty Stocking cartoon, she is wearing stockings so I guess Stocking?" and a little bit later "Oh that's the other one so that makes her Panty right?".

Sad days because any of the other guests would have been slayers at the game but instead we got watching a cringefest.

Just think about a totem kawaii -prepubescent- 13 years old loli with shiny -greasy- hair, charming -fucked up- smile, sexy/cute -unflattering- clothes and a great -awkward- personality, just like in your animues.
Isn't that great? Now think that this cute girl is completely legal, like those 200000000000000 years old lolies, that's even better! Right?

All the characters are the personifications of countries and the entire series is like 'history in a nutshell'. Each episode is around 5 minutes long, and in its heyday it spawned some of the most horrific weebs known in the realm of cosplay. Nothing was sacred, not even war memorials. Flags were desecrated and even national disasters were fair game for ridicule by the hoards of under-aged viewers.

I don't recall her telling us his age, so he might have been around the same age as her. 16 means legal in most countries, so fuck off pretending 16 year olds are infants or all of them are pure virgins... talking about bursting fetishes.

>best friend and me both cosplay Kasumi from DoA at a big con

>Knowing this we had put on regular underwear, flesh coloured tights and a final top layer of white panties
>Panties are pretty big and cover us up pretty well, no danger of accidently flashing our goods

>Doesn't look bad at all, not zoomed in or anything, several other people on the pic

>People online freak the fuck out and angrily comment on the pic
>calling uploader/photographer a perv and a creep, demand the photos be taken down
>I comment saying we're adults and we were away that we were walking around all day with our undies showing, no harm done
>Photographer comments that she's a grill who sat on some stairs or sth and saw us walking by several times

>16 is legal so it is okay
Yes, if she was legal or if at least he didn't know better I think it's totally unfair to scream rape.
Imagine the whole thing from his perspective.
He met a girl who dressed in a provocative way, hung out with her and her friends all day, thought things went well and then asked her to sit in his lap in the evening, in a public place, WHICH SHE DID (aka consented to) and she didn't get up, probably even shifted on his lap because she was uncomfortable, but she did not say anything and he couldn't see her facial expression since she had her back turned to him.
Granted I forgot she told us his age and I figured he might've been younger, but still, there's a story of another girl in this thread who also had an older guy coming on to her and she told him how old she was and that it made her uncomfortable, but he still didn't leave her alone, now that's creepy.
But if you don't say anything and don't do anything, how's the alleged rapist to know he's doing something wrong? Are you gonna totally let men do anything to you and scream rape afterwards?
I'm sorry she felt that way, but it's like a guy asks you for 20 bucks, you just give it to him and scream robbery afterwards.
>>
>>8710201
Who the fuck is screaming rape?
>>
>>8710202
this is cgl
if you're not shoving something into someone else's mouth you're doing it wrong
>>
>>8710202
okay, so people itt were screaming molestation, any better?
Point is, from his point of view, it's very hard to tell that he did something wrong. And if it's legal it is literally okay, let alone he may have even thought she was older.
Not he was in charge of being a clearvoyant, not her friends were in charge to read her facial expressions (and her friends did not even catch on something was wrong, how can you not see your friend getting groped against her will), SHE is the first person to be in charge to say what she does want and what she doesn't want. Period. If she's in shock at first, okay, but from the story the guy had plenty of time to grope her and she didn't accidentally fall into his lap, he didn't pull her into his lap, and he wasn't a complete stranger walking up to her in the crowd, they hung out all day before.
How, I ask again, was he supposed to get the idea?
Inb4
>He shoudda been smarta
Well so should she.
>>
>>8710202
>>8710209
So if it was not rape but she consented to all of it, how is it still wrong in your opinion? Who made you morality police?
>>
>>8710210
>>8710213
Oh my god you fucking weirdos take it as a cautionary tale. No one is saying anything about rape or molestation, people are saying he, as the adult in the situation, should have behaved more like an adult and not made advances on a teen girl.

I am not privy to his thought process, and neither are you. Maybe he thought she was 22, maybe he thought she was 13. We don't know. But you, the human reading this, can think to yourself, "hmm maybe I will be more cautious with young ladies at cons and make sure they're totally on board with stuff! And make sure they're of legal age!" Jesus, dudes. Cut down on the defensiveness.
>>
>>8710213
I meant if you aren't shoving words, a scrap piece of worbla, some lace monster you found in the back of your closet, etc into someone's mouth here you aren't doing your part.
>>
>>8710218
No, actually it should make young girls think 'maybe I should open my damn mouth next time before I end up the attraction of a gangbang without even wanting it'
Do you expect guys to be like 'hey gurl I'd really like to grope you, can you show me your ID or drivers license? Because then I will know it is okay'
There are 25 yo girls that look 15, no matter how old you are, a guy doing something to you you don't like, say something...
>>
>>8710222
Wow so it goes from her being uncomfortable on a guy's lap in front of her friends to a potential gangbang? Really? This is where your mind goes? I'm all for encouraging young girls to be assertive but why not hold dudes accountable too, what about that makes you so upset?
>>
>>8710222
Well you should be doing that in the first place, since you already know they may well be younger than they look. The girls are probably not old enough to understand that what you're trying to do have sexual undertones.
>>
>>8710222
Man you love rhetoric so much I think I ship you with it.

>show me your ID
Or maybe go, "I just turned (age), how old are you?" or "hey I'm hitting up a bar later, you and your friends good to come too?" There are a million non-cringey ways to verify your potential fuck interest is legal.
>>
>>8710227
>>8710228
>>8710231
Because there's 2 possible scenarios:
1. The guy was oblivious that he was making her uncomfortable. He won't be wiser because you guys post advice on a mongolian charicature board
2. The guy was aware he was making her uncomfortable and groping young girls was his intention. In this case also everything went well for him, so he's gonna do it again and doesn't give two shits.

So yeah, no matter what the case, you should speak up because there'll always be guys who either can't take a hint or don't care about hints at all.
>>
>>8710249
No one is arguing that she should not have spoken up. People are saying that guys should be encouraged to be more responsible. Is this offensive to you?
>>
>>8710250
It's annoying me because it is nothing new and in most of these stories the guys actually did something objectively wrong and got escorted away/arrested.
Yes, guys should be held responsible blablabla but seriously, be realistic. Everybody knows and people are either dumb or chose to do the wrong thing. It's just that just as much as she didn't speak up and made things worse for herself in the heat of the moment, he threw caution out the window when a hot girl willingly sat on his lap.
So this argument makes no sense because there's no decent guys out there to who it's big news that sex with minors is illegal. When girls look and act really mature it probably doesn't even cross their minds. In the related case, she was out and about at 1am, so yeah, maybe even if he thought about it, he might have figured he was safe. I just think about some tourist who went to jail because he had sex with a minor he picked up at a bar where no minors were allowed, his life was still fucked.
So yeah, maybe everyone going to a con should wear a tag with their age and "it's okay to grope me yes/no". But another solution would be to just act like normal human beings and just talking/acting accordingly to what is comfortable for us.
>>
>>8710254
Not saying it's a shock to anyone anywhere that sex with minors is illegal. Read the replies.

Be responsible. Find out how old someone is before you make advances. Is this hard? It shouldn't be. Yes, girls should feel safe in being more assertive in telling people no. But there are a lot of reasons a teenage girl would feel anxious about telling an adult man no. Does that not makes sense to you at all?
>>
>>8710259
>>8710259
No, that is my point. You should never be afraid to tell when you're uncomfortable, no matter what age the people involved are. So if a16yo is too shy to tell, it's not okay, but to grope a 26yo too shy to tell is okay?
This is why, imo, it's beside the point to argue about men are responsible for making sure their potential partners are of age, because it still takes two people to consent, no matter how old they are, and the reality is that you probably also haven't checked how old all your partners were before you engaged in sexual activity. Who really does? Most people base it off of setting and body language and of course language in general. Almost all the creepers/gropers in this thread were totally in the wrong, but in this one specific case I can see how he really thought everything was a-okay and still thinks it to this day. So that's a lose-lose situation and I'm pissed at people calling victim blaming because I can't really see how she was a victim when she was a participant.
>>
>>8710259
Friendly reminder that the girl was 16 which is the age of consent in most states.
So she was legal and appeared to consent, the guy literally did nothing wrong in that case.
>>
>>8710262
...of course I have made sure my partners are of age. You DON'T? That's concerning. In situations where everyone is, say, in a bar that cards you could be forgiven for making that assumption, but jesus christ, it's normal to find out someone's age before you fuck them.

It's not about simple shyness. A teenager is not always going to feel comfortable spurning an adult's advances.

And still. Still. I'll repeat. Again. The point isn't about him, specifically. Or her. Can you read this? It's not about him. It's not about her. It's about you. You, reading this: hey buddy maybe pick up the habit of confirming people are legally capable of consent and actually help make your partner feel comfortable enough to tell you no.

If someone you're coming onto doesn't feel comfortable saying no, or feels like they can't say no to you despite wanting to, maybe it's time to examine your own behavior and figure out why that is.
>>
>>8710254
>color coded convention badges to indicate whether child, minor, and adult

I don't really agree with most of your post, but I do think this would be an EXCELLENT idea. Would also eliminate the need of pesky ID checking every time there is an 18+ panel. It's just that the color codes would have to be changed every year and maybe a design on them, making it harder for butthurt minors to replicate adult colors.
>>
>>8710269
So you're seriously trying to tell me that you checked all of your partners' IDs?
And, even if he did, she probably was the age of consent since 16 is just that in most states.
Also, this is NOT about me because I don't have sex with random people at cons. But that doesn't mean I have the right to judge people who do.

>>8710271
Yeah, because there is NO way this system could backfire. It was meant as a joke, usually common sense should be enough, and actual pedos would have it easier to find their prey.
>>
>>8710313
You're a retard, why do you not check the age of people you fuck unless you don't get laid at all
>>
>>8710313
Where did I say check IDs? You're the one who had that boneheaded idea. Age naturally comes up in casual conversation, it's easy to determine if someone is your age. Talking about college and jobs is basically the easiest way in the world to gauge someone's age, plus you can just, like, ask.

Also dude.. I don't even know how to respond to you now lmao. The point was that in social situations where there's a chance someone may feel uncomfortable or be underage you should be smart and cool. This is not limited to just cons.
>>
>>8710322
I already said that I don't just fuck people at all, but I bet that a majority of people who hookup at cons or having ons in general don't ask for an ID but judge depending on the situation. So when a girl is there acting all shy and is maybe accompanied by her parents or friends who patronize her, you could tell she's young. If a girl acts distant and doesn't respond to you flirting with her, you can tell she's not interested. When you spend all day with a girl and she hops in your lap and her friends are okay with it, you'd probably figure it's fine.

>>

So yeah, maybe he did know she was 16, so what? As I've said multiple times, may have been legal where they were at.
>Age comes up naturally in conversation
It at least should, suppose a girl is lying to a guy, is it still his fault for not making sure? So if not checking IDs how would you make sure?
If a girls willingly sits in your lap in the middle of the night he maybe just read it all wrong.
She could've said something or even just getting up any given time. Even if she was too shy to stand up for herself in that situation, she could've just lied and made up an excuse. Instead she waited for her friends to magically find out what she was thinking. And really, not even her friends thought that something could be wrong, how should he have guessed?
