Hope you guys don't mind me jumping in here with this, but someone here might have an idea about this. Earlier this year I won an MBok auction for what was listed as a Boz dress, but turned out to be Atelier Pierrot to my surprise. I think it might be an older piece due to the style. I've never seen it before, and can't find details on Lolibrary or Hellolace. Anyone know when this piece is from, and what it's called?

I'm a sucker for RHS, so I'd say go with those, but for the socks you've chosen I think the other pair might look better. The knee-high socks might look odd with the straps of the shoes, but who knows, maybe it'll look great. Personally I like the heart bag more, because I've never been a fan of any type of animal theme, but the rucksack might hold more of an authentic oldschool feel.

All black dresses look the same to me, but this is at least close?
>>
>>8689248
That might very well be it! The only thing I can discern which might be different, I can't tell on your scan, is if the bit at the top of the bstline has any lace or trim on it, which mine doesn't. Otherwise, it's the same. Thank you! Which isue is this from?
>>
What brands are currently stocking old school suitable socks? Where do you buy your socks from?

I've checked IW and Baby and they only seem to have black or brown left.
>>
>>8690522
Check out AP for sure, they have several suitable socks for oldschool (assuming you're wanting knee high's) in varying shade's of colors to choose from.
>>
>>8690535
Thanks anon, I didn't even think of checking AP as I don't own anything by them.

Speaking of Meta, I'm seriously considering buying these bloomers from them. I'm getting a dress that's a little too short for me, so I might as well do peaking bloomers. The only thing is I'm wondering if they'll be long enough, I'm 5'5". If anybody here has done peaking bloomers before, where did you get your bloomers from?
>>
>>8690703
Somewhat OT but whenever people spell it "peaking" instead of "peeking" I imagine they're a brolita planning on having a boner in their bloomers.

Thanks anon.
>>
>>8690703
Bought mine secondhand; they're originally from F+F and are actually good quality. I believe I paid $15 or so for them. I love them. They peek out adorably, the lace is soft. The only trouble is the ribbons on the legs get untied easily, so I have to double-knot them, but it's not noticeable. I'm thinking about getting another pair, perhaps from Meta. Good luck anon!

AP is actually going to release this sometime soon in the future, it's called Silky Lady. I typically prefer to buy old dresses, but this is actually tempting. I wouldn't say it fits the old school aesthetic to a T, but what do you all think?
>>
>>8691666
Eh...this looks like a cosplay to me. Nothing really old school about it except for being black/white and featuring an apron. But I haven't been impressed with an AP release for a long time. They're definitely not a brand I would expect to put out a decent oldschool dress.
>>
>>8691679
AP seems to be more of a "cutting edge" brand than say Baby or the more conservative side of Meta, so old school isn't something you'd expect to ever see from them.
>>
>>8691666
It's really cute, but it just looks like a maid outfit. Not really oldschool imo.
>>

Your welcome and I look forward to seeing it anon, I hope you find matching accessories soon. Oh anon I don't think that's necessarily true you never know what could pop up when it comes to old school and often most old school dream dresses sell for a reasonable price.

Protip: Stop posting about this everywhere in multiple threads out of nowhere or you will be the next HD anon. It's bad enough that you didn't even know the name and were saying it's your ultimate dream dress. It will likely take years to find and you're coming across as an inpatient noob who thinks dresses appear on command. There may be multiple (though I doubt many) people with it as only a fraction of people share their coordinates. We know you want it, enough said.
>>
>>8692995
I've had this as a dream dress for several months now, but unfortunately lost the name of the dress as it had been posted in a coord thread a long while ago and I also fell out love with Lolita too so I haven't kept up with anything. Now that I've got more money to blow and I've been looking at old school threads, I realized that this is personally the one true dress I want to own more than the others. I don't personally plan on posting it anymore because there's already someone in the Dream Dress thread who posts it anyway, but it was at least worth a shot to post it around to see if anybody had at least seen it.

So because you're not interested in them everyone needs to know about them? How is that okay for people who are on the down low stalking them? I don't mind friendly competition but I do agree it'll drive up bids. You say good home, but what exactly is the alternative, who else from the west is trawling through these auctions?

>>8693021
You see people who repeatedly post the same thing in both the BST and DD threads. Don't bother me because that's what those threads are for anyway. The more people who know about your dream dress, the more likely you'll get a link to it if it pops up.
>>
>>8693085
But no one else was interested? If you were "on the downlow" and wanted them you would have checked the auctions yourself and placed a bid sooner rather than waiting for ages. Some have been up for months/over a year. If it was a rare item that had just been posted, sure. But not for stuff that is relisted over and over. Maybe you're bidding on one of the few items that are new with bids though. If so, yeah that sucks.

>>8693122
She's been samefagging all over the place about the cross OP and velveteen OP and is obviously a noob who doesn't want to do research. That is annoying compared to someone who sticks to the one thread and doesn't talk like a moron 5 year old who can't contain their excitement so they shit up the thread about theirself.

>>
>>8693266
Exactly this. I was not the first person to post it in the Dream Dress thread, and I have seen at least two other people if not more posting it around. I'll admit that I have posted it in the Dream Dress thread and in the BST thread (not by itself, I had other items in the picture I was wanting to buy), so I don't know if it's me you're talking about or the other people. Literally I have looked through the threads and the only post of mine I see is in the Dream Dress thread, and that's it. Every other post you see is someone else.

Polite sage for no contribution.

Seriously, besides this thread and the Dream Dress thread, I haven't posted it anywhere else, definitely not recently. Who the fuck are you even talking about, really? I see another person who has it posted in both the Dream Dress and the BST thread. I have seen another person who has asked what the name of the dress is and I believe they were the same person who posted in the last BST thread before it archived. So no, it is not me all the time. I s2g I'm sick of this blaming people of samefagging shit.

Polite sage again.

This is OP and I just want to say I stopped posting auctions when they first anon asked, and I'm not the person arguing about dream dresses. Sorry if anyone's got outbid in anything.
>>
>>8694105
Talking about >>8692966 who responded here >>8693021 who keeps posting about it in a certain splergy annoying way and also posted in at least 3 threads about a velveteen set she bought. I know several people want it but there's been an influx of posts since newfag saw it recently. No one cares if you post regularly in the dream dress thread quietly, it's when it's rambling on like a lazy 5 year old and you can tell who it is from that that it's annoying.
>>
>>8695173
If it's so obvious how in the world can you not tell you just linked to the same person 3 times?
>>
>>8695178
Because I assumed they weren't stupid enough to ask who I was talking about when I already told them and they replied
>>
>>8695173
I'm not going to deny that I posted the velveteen dress in other threads, but I'm being dead serious about the Velvet Cross OP. There is another newfag who saw it too when I posted it in the Dream Dress thread and asked about it before posting it in the BST thread. At least I believe they are the same person. Also, looking at my posts that feature the dress I haven't been 'rambling' about it. In the last dream dress thread I posted in a picture with socks and stated how hard it is to find some socks. I also posted it once in an older BST thread once again with the same picture asking for the socks. I never even mentioned the dress, it was just there. You're making it out to seem like I'm desperately asking people if they have the dress. No shit you're going to tell who it is when I leave my email in the BST and DD thread in case someone will sell me the socks.
>>
>>8695123
I know this is some people's dream dress but I can't stand what they've done to the sleeves, they feel unfinished. If it weren't for the ruffles at the end they'd just be tubes.

Lol. It's called Standing Collar Cross OP.
>>
I'm not quite sure where the request was posted but I'm pretty sure it was in an old school thread, someone wanted a list of all the dresses Momoko wore in Kamikaze Girls. I found this image on tumblr and hopes it helps
>>
>>8696683
I already know that, but continue to ignore everything else I just said. :^)
>>
>>8697015
Not even the another anon but I think you're a lazy entitled newbie too. If you knew you would call it that. Unless you're lazy enough not to. Seriously, you should know the name of your dream dress.
>>
>>8697680
I do know the name of the dress, I just shortened it and was too focused on writing a novel explaining why I'm not the only person posting it around. There's already someone else who's gone and posted it in the DD thread now, and they also posted it in the last DD thread too. The only times I've posted it is with some socks I wanted, and I didn't even talk about the dress or mention it (this was almost two weeks ago). This'll be the last time I write a novel about this, and if you see any future posts of the dress, know that it's not me posting it.
>>
Is anyone else excited to wear their velveteen pieces soon? Winter can't come fast enough!
>>
>>8697702
If you knew the name and you shortened it, you'd say SCC OP. So? No one cares if someone else posts it quietly and actually knows the name.
>>
>>8700022
It's saved in my Google history as Velvet Cross OP when I didn't know the name of the dress but looked for the original coord I saw it in, that's why I'm so used to saying it like that as that's how I searched it for a long while. It's funny you should mention posting it quietly, because I remember that persons email posting it in the WTB thread saying they were willing to pay pretty much anything for it, and that was right after someone asked me for the name of the dress. I still have a feeling you're talking about someone else, even now someone has jumped on my dream dress list in the thread asking what one of dresses is (SCC wasn't in there, as I will no longer post it again).

Plus their archives are old so very suitable when you're looking old(er) stuff, cause no need to sift through the newer things iyswim?
>>
>>8702233
I definetly agree with you there except sadly a lot of the Moitie listings has been deleted from Hellolace.

Has anyone purchased anything recently or planning a coord?
>>
Does anyone think that an oldschool revival is really possible at this point?
>>
>>8702236
HL's Moitie database is mostly archived! http://web.archive.org/web/20130328004256/http://hellolace.net/wardrobe/moi-meme-moitie

It's been really helpful for going through older Moitie stuff since there are some things here that aren't listed on Lolibrary.
>>
>>8705946
How do you mean? In terms of popularity? I think it's too toned down to ever really catch on again, though it will never really die. Brands keep releasing the same shit year after year, it just doesnt get the same hype that this seasons "trendy" releases do.
>>
>>8705946
This is kind of a non answer, but I think it kinda depends on releases and trends and whether it'll go in a direction people are fed up with as they'll then turn to the past for inspiration. If they are, yeah I do think so, I can't remember there last time I was excited for a release, but I have a very minimalist kuro style. I'm not really a purist though, I like stung old school pieces used in a creative way, ie mixing with vintage pieces is my favorite, so it's a new take on an old classic.
>>
>>8705948
>>8705961
at this point I just want more non print items and fabrics that aren't chiffon. I also want embroidery to make a comeback
>>
>>8707637
Same, I doubt a solid velvet piece will ever come out again but it would be amazing.
>>
>>8705947
Oh anon this is excellent thank you, you've made my day! I have a few older Moitie pieces so really appreciate it.

>>8705946
It depends on what you mean by your question. Do you mean a large number of western lolitas wearing old school/taking inspiration from old school? Or whether brands will release a lot of old school/old school inspired pieces?
I think both are possible, there definetly is some interest in old school in the western lolita community and quite a large amount of COF posts lately have featured old school coords or coords using old school pieces. However a majority of lolitas seem to be interested in OTT and/or latest prints/releases. I'm not sure how popular old school could really be nowadays. If you mean the second meaning, some brands especially Baby and Meta do release or re-release old school items, even this year both brands have.

>>8707899
Meta's velveteen series from last year was solid without the chiffon and also a few years ago BTSSB released a solid velvet jsk.

>>8707637
BTSSB classical series, was mostly re-releases of non print items that aren't chiffon which also included the embroidery cart jsk.

*Velveteen.

Velvet is too shiny and cheap looking, and to my knowledge, has never been used in lolita.

I've seen some pretty hilarious crushed velvet Baby dresses, but normally, yes, velveteen is more common

Anon, this dress in the black x white color way is now up on Wunderwelt if you are interested.
It even comes with a headbow. Only 7990 yen too, very reasonable price.

>>
I too prefer velveteen over velour or crushed velvet. It looks more luxurious and it isn't shiny which is a big issue with low quality velour/panne/crushedvelvet.
But there is a big difference with bad velour and good velour!
I own 2 velour dresses by Baby though, and it's not the ugly cheap kind of velour, it looks really lovely. I wouldn't hesitate to buy other velour dresses from them.
Bad velvet/velour is usually used in western goth clothes (those fucgly "vampire" dresses haha), and I'm glad it's rarely used in Lolita cause that shit looks as bad as shiny satin.
>>
It's finally mine, hallelujah. And with the matching bonnet! It's much more than I had hoped for. I can't wait to finally wear it!

Thanks, anon. It was ¥39,000! Which is about $318 right now. (Worth it.) I've been looking on and off for a while now, but I never saw this colorway pop up. (Guess I missed your post.) I got the black and white one immediately after posting a WTB for only about $100, so I was surprised when the red and white ended up being so hard to find. I guess it's a rarer colorway. Maybe no one wants to get rid of it? I think that just ended up making me more determined, though. It's so rewarding finding it after so long!

I am really happy about this bonnet, too.
