Have we found THE Rose Quartz wig, gulls?
I like the wig a lot, but I think the makeup is lacking. I feel like Rose needs big, dramatic lashes and pink lips to be Rose. Blush would be good too. Her appearance and personality is large and dramatic and stunning, makeup included.

I really don't like all the little tendril-y curls. Having some smaller curls in the back/on the top might be fine, but I think it looks really gross when pushed to the front. Especially since Rose Quartz typically only has two big ol' sausage curls over her shoulders like that.

Peridot's nose? I get contouring for Opal or Pearl, but Peridot? I guess I don't get it her nose isn't any more unique than Lapis. As for Jasper I've seen maybe 3 who attempted the full lips and defined eyes. I've been told I should cosplay Rose Quartz because I'm the eternal con-mom and admittedly a size 14 (well..10-14s because women's clothing sizing is never consistent).

height is one of the most easily forgivable parts of cosplay, in my opinion. you can always wear super tall heels under your dress to give the illusion of more height, but ive seen plenty of shorter rose quartzes. getting the costume to look nice is a major priority over height, though. and about amethyst, try commissioning armsocks or making them yourself if you want. they save so much time and effort instead of bodypaint

I'm not 100% sure yet. Rose's specifically shouldn't have much problem if you just use lots of hairspray (carefully) and heat, provided you don't try to pull too much hair into them. They aren't quite long enough to pull the curl fully out.
If that doesn't work, as a bit more permanent solution, I want to try combing extra clear silicone through the forelocks, and the wrap it around a plastic bottle or something. Once again, I'm not 100% sure, and me and my friends are going to do some tests (we've been saving all of our drill curl styling to do together as a group). I'll let y'all know how they turn out, though!

that wig has some good volume- i would straighten it though, and go back and hand curl it to add waves. stevonnie's hair doesn't seem to have tight ringlets, more like big curls or loose waves. with simple cosplays like this, its important to get even minor details right. i would shorten the length of the blue shirt so that you can see the bottom of steven's shirt, and shorten the sleeves on steven's shirt. other than that, not much to recommend. a pair of dance tights can really help with cosplays that show a lot of leg since it even out your skin tone a lot, but plenty of people go without them. i like your gem though- is it glowing?

Thanks for the advice! My gem isn't glowing. I followed squidwardprivilege's tutorial on tumblr for plastic gems. I like that's it kinda cartoony and does have that "glow" in all my pictures, but, and this could just be because of the plastic I used, the edges of the gem aren't really defined so it just looks like a circle from a distance.

After her regeneration, she does have an indent, but then again so does her pre-regeneration form. The cosplayer here made their wig too big at the top I feel, so if it wasn't so disproportional I think it'd be fine.

It definitely is super accurate to the cartoon, but as we should have fucking learned by now with this shit and Homestuck and every other cartoon fandom cosplay community, accurate to the cartoon doesn't make a good cosplay.
It just looks bad. It looks strange. Bringing a cartoon to life means that you should keep it true to life, otherwise it fails miserably and just looks off. There's a reason why these things are made as cartoons and not as live action shows, after all.
