>>9078111 My comm is a bunch of fucking noobs. Everyone is allowed to organize but barely ever anyone does. It is very difficult to be a lolita where I live due to the economic crisis, so I don't expect much to be honest
>>9078111 My comm is pretty big so we have pretty frequent meetups
-We have regular monthly meetups (unless something comes up, in which case we move it some other time in the month) -Anyone can organize any kind of meetup based on pretty much anything- themes, high tea, picnics, whatever -I've noticed more meetups in the spring/summer when the weather is nicer and when more people are out of school/are taking more vacation time
Ever since I went to a convention recently, I've been wanting to start a small business based around 3D printing props, accessories, etc. for cosplays. Do you think there's a demand for this? Things like pins, decals, maybe masks or weapons if I ever get around to it. Would you personally be interested in 3D printed cosplay gear?
I work with 3D printers (Engineering, I help designing and programming them).
We also print custom parts, and they are usually small pieces and really expensive, as 3D printing takes a lot of time. We can charge like 20€ for a 5*10cm part, I'm also in an europoor country, so I guess that in America this would be a lot more, and it takes about 10h to be printed, depending on the detail level.
I don't really think that someone would prefeer something like this (time/cost/quality wise) over other methods
>>9077093 That why I was intending to do pins and decals; add detail to a cosplay without being overly large or expensive. Things like a brooch, hairpin, chest decals, etc.
I have a printer of my own so I know the time it takes. The booth I saw also did "finishing" of parts, in the sense that they sanded/painted them lightly to prepare the for additional work on the customer's side.
Another thing with 3D printing is that I would assume that people would sometimes prefer it due to the custom aspect... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>9076856 http://www.ebay.com/itm/Womens-Girls-Bowknot-Faux-Suede-Sweet-Candy-mary-Janes-Chunky-Heel-Shoes-34-43-/171769893282 there's multiple listings of them, I just grabbed this one. When you get them could you do a review?
>>9074597 The gold shoes aren't the problem, since she's trying to pick up the "golden frame" in the picture. The bows don't match pefectly and look so random. The lace cardigan is way too classic for a galaxy print. She should wear a blouse instead or look for a more fitting cardigan. The star socks match the theme, but they look too casual for lolita and are not necessary when wearing tights. The necklace is out of place. Just like the Luna and Artemis buttons on the waist. The hair... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
>>9072441 If you have a big bust then a binder is pretty much necessary for most lolita dresses. Underworks has a really great one for ~$30 I think. I don't care if you use shapewear or not, I personally prefer it because it smooths everything out for both cosplay and lolita.
>Cosplaying at local con >signs everywhere stating rules, big sign in entry way of con >Typical things of no real weapons, alcohol, drugs >In game Hall just watching friends play game, guy standing off to the side with camera >Figure he's just taking photos for the con, people playing games ect >See him bend down, sifting through his bag >Stealthy... Cammy cosplay was forced to cover up at a convention cause a random group of Smash Bros fans reported her to con ops for being too revealing. Was given the ultimatum of cover up or be removed from the con.
This is the future of conventions now, if you plan on doing any revealing cosplay at AX I'd suggest doing a photoshoot away from the convention as to avoid getting reported. I think this will become a big issue for small cons but too hard to control for large cons.
>>9070783 Cammy is pretty revealing but don't most cons have a age restriction like 14+ ? Plus fu for bringing your children to a cosplay convention. Cosplay is serious business not a fun carnival for children, duh
Windy summer days are coming and as a lot of us wear skirts but don't want to flash everyone, let's have a thread about bloomers and similar pieces (pic related). No matter if Lolita, Fairy Kei, Ouji or Larme, every style is welcome.
Topics: >Styles you use them for >Favorite brands for bloomers >Quality comparisons >Bloomer suggestions for tall people (asian brand ones love to be too small on average)
I've recently started using bloomers with pockets while wearing lolita. It might be a bit too awkward for keeping your phone in but it's a pretty safe place to keep IDs or credit cards, just make sure you don't take them out where the public can see you and be discreet about it.
What do you all recommend for shorter dresses? I wear shapewear from Uniqlo (pic related) but it goes down to mid-thigh. I don't wear many things shorter than that but when I slightly bend some shapewear peeks out from underneath.
I also seldom wear form-fitting dresses that benefit from shapewear so I feel I'm squeezing into something uncomfortable just for the sake of not flashing my undies.
Does anyone know if Ecailles De Lune ( https://kinyo666.world.taobao.com/ ) is called something else by Chinese lolitas? I was trying to find some of their stuff on the taobao secondhand site, but searching "ecailles de lune" didn't bring anything up
Miss point anon here, the items have been sent to me so I should receive them soon.
>>9032478 asked me for a review of the shoes. I got them today(had to split the order because reasons), pic related is what they look like irl. Pretty comfy considering they were dirt cheap but make sure you go up a size. The only thing that caught me is the fact that it's not a true buckle fastener on the shoe, instead there is some sort of hook contraption that secures the buckle and strap together. I'll take pics of it later. Other than... Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.
