I will dump a few examples to get the thread going but let's try for some original fucking content, please.

How to properly hoverloli:
1. Set camera on tripod
2. Take photo of background without anyone in it
3. Position self in scene
4. Take photo
5. Go to Photoshop, place blank background photo on layer behind Loli photo
6. Erase legs on Loli layer
7. ?????
8. PERFECT HOVERLOLI

Black Knight Greatsword 2.png
357 KB,
Hi /cgl/

I'm curious, how do you prefer to handle cosplay weapons of ludicrous size? Is there anything you can make them out of that isn't ungodly heavy but doesn't look like styrofoam or snap in half in a strong wind?

I ask because I want to finish off an existing Dark Souls armor I have, which I have already worn to some cons, with an iconic weapon from the franchise. Ideally this would be the Black Knight Greatsword I have pictured, but I'm not 100% set on that since it might not be realistically practical.

I've glued styrofoam blocks together and cut them into shape, using wood as the core and handle. it was sure light but it also bent really easy and I have to be careful when waving it around. But I mean as long at you dont rest your weight on it and you try to stop people being FUCKING IDIOTS AND GRABBING IT AND TRYING TO HIT PEOPLE LIKE FUCKING SPURGLORDS you should do fine.
>>
>>9001649

What was the finish like on your weapon? Did you just paint the styrofoam, or did you cover it with something like a layer of plastic or something? The picture might not carry it across very well, but the blade of the weapon in the game is very glossy, almost glass-like in appearance.

I doubt I can replicate that level of detail, but it would be nice to try. I am also a bit worried that, if I do my weapon the wrong way, it will clash heavily with the rest of my costume. With a couple of small exceptions,...

19 KB,
I'm undertaking an exercise in pain and I figured you guys would know the most about it. I'm trying to dye a shirt in gradiated monochrome levels, but ideally it would be done with precise, clear lines to each level. Something like pic related.

I've seen a lot of batik style tutorials, but has anyone made dye-paints? Possibly using some sort of thickening agent (flour? Cornstarch?) to make the dye solid enough that it doesn't bleed into the surrounding fabric while it stains. Your tutorials have silk paints, but that's not really what I'm...

tl;dr

can i make dye paint??

what's gud dye?

Also I didn't see a help thread, my bad.
>>
>>9051604
I actually learned how to do that in a class in college but it's been so long I can't remember if the dye was mixed with anything to make it not run. All I remember is painting the fabric with the batik dye and then throwing it in the microwave to set it.

I think the most precise way would be to silkscreen or digitally print on the fabric first and then make a shirt out of it.

Just a thread i started to get amateurs to be noticed, this picture is my first work i ever did. and yes its me.

I forgot about the AX thread during Fanime.

- Four day tickets are $90 now
- One day tickets are $55 what the fuck
- $375 for Premier haha they didn't sell out

- Japan Super Live went on sale at 6PM PST and a good chunk of it gone already
- Love Live is half sold
- FLOW/OLDCODEX is general admission

- Background checks are now optional aka no one is going to bother to do it

I was expecting more of a fuss to get tickets, looks like the venue won't even be half full.

On parking: i paid 15 at red deck, but the employees seemed to have no idea how their price structure works. They told me they dont even check cars at night for tickets, the ticket booth lady said they did not have overnight. I'm wary about buying a con pass that may be worthless.

Last time we discussed the eternal hotel reservation drama at Abunai, how much we hate special snowflakes who use autism as an excuse to get a room, lolita meetup etiquette, experiences of both Under the Sea and Japantag (DE), and Nishicon's retarted hotel prices. We also shared a massive amoutn of (poor) advice on how to get some cock and/or pussy during cons. Turns out you have to be active instead of spend all your day hoping for that cute (fem)anon to come to you.

Convention news and agenda...

What're you wearing to animecon?
I'll be going in my normal clothes, hesitatingly trying out the 18+ speed dating.
>>

Probably regular clothes, although I'm rushing an EVA-01 costume using foam (body), worbla (head/helmet), and a black skinsuit to hide my skin around the joints. Although honestly I doubt it will be done in time and only agreed to it as someone challenged me to finish a costume in two weeks flat. I just want to win that bottle of Hertog Jan Grand Prestige damnit!

>Favorite sheet masks?
I'd like to get a couple for days when I want a pick-me-up. I'd like it to be moisturizing, I have combo skin but am wrangling the flaky areas on my forehead, nose and cheeks slowly. My skin is also sensitive as well, I tried some nugg masks before (except they were the clay kind and more gel-like ones you smear on your face) and they irritated me to all hell. I have a Japanese rose-scented one that's alright and Etude House's moistfull collagen and that doesn't...

i was actually going to make a skincare thread today, thanks op!
side note to the kinds of people who will be posting in this thread: please stop recommending coconut oil as a meme solution for every skincare issue, it's highly comedogenic and can break people the fuck out and give them body acne if used on sensitive areas of the body which are prone to breaking out.

So I bought DHCs deep cleansing oil to try the double cleansing method and I'm not sure how to proceed from here.
I tried it for the first time while i was in Japan. The first two nights I idnt notice anything bad. Then the last night i was there, after using it my face felt kind of cloudy, for lack of a better word. I guess its possible I didn't get it all off but I washed with cetaphil afterwards. Anyway tje next day I woke up and my face felt strange, like my eyes were puffy and my face was dry. We spent the rest of the day in a plane onthe way back home and...
