I'm glad you were all so patient - it's been such a busy last couple of weeks as I, along with many others here, slide into the tail-end of the fall semester.
Hopefully everyone had a great Thanksgiving! Or if you don't celebrate it, at least enjoyed the days off that usually accompany this time of year.
As we work our way into the later months, today we celebrate our 70th thread, what a milestone! We've spent several winters together in our little slice of the internet now, and this year is no different!
So, as it was when these threads first began - be sure to pour a hot cup of tea and get cozy, because it's time for yet another wonderful installment of the enduring /c/ tradition!
It's been a pleasure to spend these last seventy Mugi Threads with all of you, and here's to many more yet to come!
Cheers!

Hello my /c/omrades, I have rather unfortunate news and needed to log on to a separate device in order to post this. My PC has been infected with self-replicating malware that has installed rootkits deep within the registry which prevent software like Malwarebyte's Chameleon program from executing and removing the virus.
It was of my own mistake, I knew the site was malicious but chose to risk downloading a program that I had used in the past in spite of the multiple red-flags.
Anyhow, in order to halt the possible loss of sensitive data, and to minimize the risk of a MITM attack, I'm going to have to wipe my PC's hard drive and reinstall my OS.
I won't have my computer up and running by this weekend, so in the meantime, I leave our precious thread in your capable hands!
Thanks for being so great!

>>2547588
I would pay Kyoto Animation almost any amount of money to make season 3, 4, 5, 6 ,7 and others. I will surely do this when I get rich. Meanwhile, have this minimalistic picture of Mugi.
>>2547588
Hurts, doesn't it?
>>2547924
If I could pay KyoAni to make more, I would too. Sometimes I wonder if they'd do it if enough noise was made about it, like a with a petition or something. Or like, crowding round their HQ with torches and pitchforks.
>>2548143
Petition is actually a nice idea, maybe these guys from KyoAni will listen to us. We can also just wait, but we may become skeletons in the process. At this moment we can just try to get rich af. At least it's the thing I'm going to do. Wish me luck.
>>2547921
I'd let Mugi hold my gun
Why not just a petition for more Mugi?

>>2547588
New seasons of them being adults wouldn't really work in my opinion.
Part of their cuteness is their childlike innocence which is lost once you show them as grown-up adults.
What would K-On be without Mugi's heart-melting cuteness, Yui's cute silliness, Azusa's cat ears, Mio's shyness and Ritsu's energetic personality?
>>2549411
I think most of them would basically be the same, except Azusa would chill out, Ritsu wouldn't be as active and Yui would become more normal. I think definitely Mio and Mugi could stay basically the same. Also, like, Sawako works as an adult, but is pretty childish. I imagine that Season 4/5 would have to change tone pretty drastically though. College needs to happen though.
>>2549367
I remember falling in love with Mugi immediately when I first watched K-On, but I never thought she would have as many fans as she does, let alone be the second most popular of the cast on /c/ after Yui. She even has the least amount of screen time besides maybe Azusa.
It must be the eyebrows.
>>2549421
The problem is that Yamada has specifically stated that she doesn't want to show the girls in college for whatever reason. Of course this could be remedied with having OVAs of them still in high school but that would make the end of S2 feel a little pointless.
>>2549411
>>2549421
I'd expect them to be like 90% the same except in some sort of career. Or maybe they actually make it as a band outside of college. Maybe they'd all just live in the same house or something that Mugi owns because rich.
>>2549411
It wouldn't be any different, their personalities wouldn't change. That's a creative liberty on KyoAni or Kakiflys part. This isn't real life so, there's no need for them to change their personalities. Those points you made about them are part of what makes K-On what it is; so naturally it'll stay like that no matter what scenario KyoAni could put them in.
>>2549486
Whatever they do next; it has to be a step forward. I actually wrote up a huge essay type thing on why K-On should continue, and what they could do with it (I do stuff like that when somethings on my mind). I basically concluded that; since there is the college manga, HTT is still together and they're all close enough to stick together even after Uni, there's no real reason for there not to be any more made. I would love to see a manga or anime about them being a proper band, like, doing it for a living.
Bumpin' a Mugi Thread.
Hi all!
I'm thinking of giving names to every picture in the archive; to make them easier to sift through and to make filenames more relevant. Would anyone be interested?

>>2543031

>>2549592
I just got an idea. Maybe you'll send this "essay type thing" to KyoAni? There are some chances that they will listen to the voice of reason.
We had two perfect seasons and a perfect movie, why not end it there instead of risking a possibly bad third season and soiling perfection?
Don't jinx it.
>>2550176
Has a point guys; either we run K-On! into the ground or quit while we're ahead; I'm with the latter
>>2550176
The K-ON is perfect as long as there is Mugi in it. Also, I just need K-ON. If the life is cancer, then Mugi and the rest of K-ON is a cure for it. I need more.
Good news guys, I started the renaming process! If I do 300 a day, it will take a week so please be patient. Also, my name scheme isn't too great but at least it isn't a random string of numbers, right?
In the meantime, my archive will start to shrink; this will break my site while simultaneously making files temporarily unavailable. Please be patient with me guys, I'm only one person!
>>2550427
Good luck Anon. May Mugi be with you
>>2550176
>>2550326
It doesn't need to be a full blown continuation (Although I would like that) but just something to show it's still alive. An OVA now and then, maybe another volume of the college manga. I personally think though, if you really love K-On, you should love whatever they could do with it next unless it really is blatantly lazy and uninspired. Other than that it would be great if, fans were willing to accept it. That's the only thing that would hold it down I think.

>Question: With the characters graduating, K-On! looks like it’s approaching a conclusion of sorts. However, it feels like there would be hints of something more in the future, Have you considered whether or not the series would be continued, or is this the end for K-On!?
>Answer (Naoko): We don’t have anything in mind at the moment for K-On!; this is quite a K-On!-like ending, and this is something you might have to ask Yoshihisa-san because it’s to do with the direction. But it doesn’t tend to end in a bang, it sort-of trails off as it did with the TV series, as well.

I regularly fuck about on /c/, and I started watching K-ON! (now finished it, including the movie) and I though I'd check out the Mugi thread because Mugi is best Mugi
>>2560351
Hey I had one several years ago! Thankfully I haven't had a reoccurrence to try this, but I got some "old nurses' advice" just a bit too late. Take 1-2 table spoons of mineral oil, and most stones /apparently/ will pass within 24-48 hours.
Of course mineral oil is a common laxative (in that section of the pharmacy/ drugstore) so you will be on the toilet for a day or two as well. So obviously if you're going to try it, don't do it the night before you have work or school or are meeting your significant other's parents for the first time.
If you try (I'm so sorry if it doesn't work :< ) let me know how it went in the next Mugi thread. Good luck anon~kun :<

Godspeed Anon, you'll make it.
Take a break from the tea for awhile.
>>2560849
...does drinking lots of tea really do that? 'cause if it does then I am so fucked. No more tea for me then. Or coffee, I'm sure that won't help either.
>>2560852
I'm not particularly well-versed with the details concerning kidney stones, but there seem to be several prospective studies showcasing a decreased relative risk with with consumption of tea and coffee (among other things, including some juices interestingly, and beer and wine). Also, drinking plenty of fluid in general, while avoiding soft drinks.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/23676355
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8561157 (quite old by now)
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/16724910 (looks specifically at a green tea derivative).
A few examples of what I found. The articles are open for the public, so you should take a look yourself and not trust me blindly! Did you get any recommendations from your physician?
Either way, get well anon! Mugi will look after you!
>>2560351
Good luck! I hope you'll be alright.
>>2560852
Usually it's bottled tea drinks - green tea actually causes calcium oxalate to bond to the stones and may cause them to break up before they cause any serious pain.
The stones themselves are most commonly attributed to increased consumption of water (over-hydration) and frequently taking certain painkillers, like ibuprofen.
>/c/ - Medicine and Health

Whoops, forgot my trip.
Yes, it is I - and I've been there before, hope all goes well /c/omrade.

Perhaps tonight if we hit the image limit.
Too many to reply to, but this is a message for the anon with the kidney stone. My grandfather, sadly, is a factory for those things. It's normal everyday things for him to pass several in a week due to either him being a diabetic or something in his daily routine.
Yet, I digress, he claims that getting whole lemons and drinking straight lemon juice helps him bust them up and helps making them pass easier. I've never had to deal with one myself, but he claims that it's the fastest way to rid himself of those parasites.
All I do know is that I hope you do get to feeling better, and Godspeed, Anon.>>2560351
>Pic not relevant
Mugi, please help me pass this Mugi love so I can get on with my life.
>>2561117
Sorry, I don't mean to be that guy, but where did you hear that overhydration is a risk factor? After my initial post, I did some more reading and it seems that lower urinary volume (along with increased amount of stone constituents, altered urine pH and infection, among other things) is a risk factor.
Another article, focused on water intake, found that urinary volume at onset of kidney stones was decreased compared to the normal, and that prophylactic "hydration training" decreased the risk of recurrence significantly. (Loris et al 1996 [but you need access to read it in full ])
Basically, the idea is that the water dilutes the stone constituents, from what I gathered.
Haven't heard any association between painkillers and kidney stones, but I haven't looked into that specifically.
>>2561184
Most of this is what I was told after my own experiences, but one thing I forgot to mention was the consideration that the area I live in has homes that mostly run on well-water systems, and the hard water that comes from them has minerals that can contribute to the buildup of calcium in the kidneys if consumed in larger quantities.
I didn't mean for it to sound misleading, I probably should have been more clear.
As for painkillers, I can probably guess that excess amounts may strain the kidneys and how they process certain medications, but I can't be totally certain.
Guess I should hit the books myself.
>>2561211
Ah, it's cool! The amount of knowledge that is out there is so vast and all of it is really intriguing to me, so I find it really interesting to discuss! In the same vein, I acknowledge there's a plethora of information that I don't know at all, and furthermore since I only have textbooks to base my knowledge on, I figured you'd probably know something I don't with the first-hand experience. Hard water was something I had never considered, so that's particularly insightful, I think!
(Also, I have a perfect excuse to post qt nurse Mugi, so I'm doubly happy!)
>>2561117
The most common kidney stones are made of calcium oxalate, so more of it bonding to the existing mass doesn't sound like a helpful thing.
When I had mine, I had recently moved, and the only dietary change I had was drinking a lot more bottled green tea. So I figured it was the cause and cut the bottled tea. I also started occasionally drinking water with pure lemon juice like >>2561128's grandpa since it's supposed to help prevent them. Now I pretty much drink water all day and thankfully haven't had a recurrence in 5 years so far.
