Wrong eye.
>>2518746
big medic has it on the right, asuka has it on the left
who's to say which one is more correct for a little crossover like that
>>2518751
You obviously keep the eyepatch on the left because that's already a part of the character and the whole reason that crossover is made in the first place. If she didn't have an eyepatch already, then you'd put it on the right.
>>2518753
>implying there are explicit rules that must be adhered to when it comes to crossover fanart
Just say it's Soryu then.
>>2518875
Soryu is the only true Asuka anyway. No need to say water is wet.
>>2518880
Is that uniform based on JSDF? I'm not too sure here.
>>2518875
But that's dumb because there's no reason for Soryu to wear an eyepatch, which is the only real connection to big boss.
It's just the wrong eye. Nothing else to it.
>>2518945
Well I don't know what else to say, anon. I'm not the artist, but I guess you could go draw your own crossover if you really wanted to.
>>2518945
but its not big boss either
>>2518910
Doesn't look like any specific uniform I can think of, probably just a generic one
>>2518975
All I'm saying is it's the wrong eye. You're the one getting bent out of shape trying to defend it.
>>2519069
Brah, I'm not the one playing fanart police here. I swear to moot it's like I'm talking to ARK.
>>2519212
Who's policing? I just pointed out something wrong in an image and you go crazy over it. Now you're crying about boogeymen just because of a two word post.
>>2519224
Well, the post I originally responded to was more than just two words, but 'ERE WE GO
Whoever drew that piece of fanart actually got it all correct. Venom has an eye patch over his right eye. If it was placed over his left, that would be wrong.
Secondly, your rationale as for why it was supposedly wrong in the first place is needlessly pedantic. There doesn't need to be any connection for a crossover to take place, otherwise the majority of all crossover fanart wouldn't exist. This is called artistic license.
I don't see you pointing out the same variation in the other pictures in this thread (I see at least one at a glance), but somehow this one detail prompted you to single it out.
Carry on, my contrarian-encumbered friend.
>>2519235
>Venom has an eye patch over his right eye
And Asuka has an eye patch over her left. This leads to a situation where it's wrong no matter what happens. The best way you can try and wave it off is with "lol just pretend it's Soryu" and we both know that's not the intent.
> There doesn't need to be any connection for a crossover to take place
Sure, but we know that there is a reason for this connection, and that is something as simple as an eye patch.
>I don't see you pointing out the same variation in the other pictures in this thread (I see at least one at a glance)
There is exactly 1 other example of the eyepatch being placed over the wrong eye in this thread, and that is after the bullshit that came from you and at least one other getting your panties in a twist over nothing more than pointing out something wrong with one image.
Why are you so booty bothered about me pointing out one flaw in one image? Why does it upset you so?
>>2519239
>Deliberately inducing a server outage to prevent me from replying
You're outrageous m8
>This leads to a situation where it's wrong no matter what
Then the placement of the eye patch was never the issue here. You would have said that the picture was in the wrong regardless if it was over the left or the right eye, contradicting what you said earlier that it should have been on the left.
All that aside, the artist intentionally chose to portray Asuka in Venom's visage. Attempting to assign some arbitrary artistic authority to a piece of fanart is akin to ascending the Penrose stairs. You feel self-righteous in doing it, but it never leads anywhere.
>Sure, but we know that there is a reason
Of course, they're both badasses in their own right. Creative expression is its own excuse.
>There is exactly 1 other example
According to your own personal protocol of how crossover fanart should be drawn, this distortion in detail isn't limited to just the orientation of an eye patch. It was an off-the-cuff example to have you come to the realization of how daft your justification really is.
>Why are you so booty bothered about me
I think you're fun.
>>2519321
>>2519239

>>2519338
ARK can't handle the bantz
>>2519321
>You would have said that the picture was in the wrong regardless if it was over the left or the right eye
No, I would have only pointed out that it was wrong if the eyepatch was in the right eye, like it is.
The artist is commonly wrong and fucks up many details. You should know this quite well browsing /c/.
>According to your own personal protocol of how crossover fanart should be drawn
It's as if you think it's high blasphemy to point out a flaw in one image. You'd think you drew it or at least blew the guy who did. Why is it so hard for you to admit that yes, like with many other pieces of art, like with that one other image in this thread giving her an eyepatch over the wrong eye, that there is an error in this image?
>>2519380
>This leads to a situation where it's wrong no matter what
precludes
>I would have only pointed out that it was wrong if the eyepatch was in the right eye
>The artist is commonly wrong
Not my problem. Art is an iterative process.
>It's as if you think it's high blasphemy
Anon, you're the only one in this thread who has an axe to grind when it comes to that picture. It's not like someone misplacing Asuka's eye patch is worse than grampa dying.
>>2519485
Except I wasn't pointing out that it was wrong because it had to have been wrong regardless, but because it was a picture of Asuka with an eyepatch over the wrong eye.
> you're the only one in this thread who has an axe to grind when it comes to that picture.
You're projecting hard. All I did was point out one flaw in it and you went crazy trying to defend it. It's a simple flaw in one image, one that happens in many images. A single criticism of one image is not fanart policing or grinding an axe or declaring the end of the world or whatever kind of paranoid bullshit you're trying to make it out to be. What's wrong with you?
>>2519509
Lad, the only thing I'm projecting is the truth.
>All I did was point out one flaw
Which actually wasn't a flaw at all, but a conscious artistic detail.
>you went crazy trying to defend it
So merely suggesting that it was Soryu as Venom constitutes crazy. Right..
>is not fanart policing or grinding an axe or declaring the end of the world or whatever
You sure about that, anon? You seem awfully flustered. On a scale of 1-10, how badly do you want to fuck me right now?
>>2519561
>Which actually wasn't a flaw at all, but a conscious artistic detail.

>So merely suggesting that it was Soryu as Venom constitutes crazy

There is no explicit evidence indicating if it was Soryu or Shikinami that was being portrayed in the artwork. Therefore, it is up to the viewer's interpretation.
I don't see how suggesting one over the other constitutes a "crazy defense" but from your perspective it does apparently.
>>2519653
>I don't see how suggesting one over the other constitutes a "crazy defense"
You've jumped into multiple walls of text over a period of 2 days to complain about and defend against an observation of something that you deem to be completely up to the viewer's interpretation as to whether it's accurate or not.
>>2519665
>over a period of 2 days
Well I actually started on a Sunday afternoon. And considering that the servers crashed sometime after midnight, it's more like half a day.
>multiple walls of text

the printing in der sterne isn't top notch to begin with, and a lot of illustrations (like this one) are sharing page space with other images. but on top of that whoever scanned it did so at an enormous resolution but without the proper color and contrast or any descreening. it's not a rare or expensive book either so idk why no ones ever gone back and rescanned it. There are some neat illustrations in it that don't have other sources

Since I think that waifu is my personal idea of a perfect woman and Asuka's already exceptionally human-like and realistic for an anime character, I figure it's not as stupid of an idea. Then again, a lot of people think completely different.
