well, I did it.
I dropped out of university, mechanical engineering to be specific. I literally want to just fucking curl up and die right now, I've never felt like such a failure before. I always thought I was smart, I've scored in the 130 - 140 range on IQ tests several times before (for whatever it's worth, which probably isn't that much but whatever), I've never had a problem understanding anything in school until I came to uni. The first year I was struggling and barely getting by. Failed my programming class and calc 2. Tried taking them...

How do you feel about bums /biz/?
I'm tired of stepping in their shit.
In wealthy countries, the "bum" is often just a mentally ill person without means for treatment.
The rest are usually struggling with substance addiction.
My gut feeling is to feel sorry for the first and ignore the latter, but I'm getting soft in my old age and have begun to feel pity for even the drunk or addict.
>>924123
Subhuman trash.
There's no reason for being this way in North America, of all places.
People come to this continent from across oceans, barely speaking English or understanding the culture and customs yet they establish themselves often times in one or two generations.
What is the excuse of some fag who has grown up there all his life and speaks English as a native language?
>>924144
No longer the case. In wealthy countries, another category of bums emerged, which are the ordinary honest working citizens who were deceived by bankers and robbed of their houses and jobs.

Most posters on /biz/ are one month or mistake away from being homeless. One false move and you're a bum. Maybe your parent dies, or your boss fires you, and you're a bum the next day.
Is technical analysis bullshit?
I don't see how the price development of the past has any influence on the future. I can imagine some indicators becoming self-fulfilling prophecies (like many people believing in Fibonacci levels and thus acting the same way) but to me it screams like bullshit. This is especially true for the Forex. The Forex is very liquid and appears to be just perfect for technical analysis but prices develop because of international interactions of gigantic scale.

>Is technical analysis bullshit?
duh
>>913000
Did you make any money in forex? No? Well then shut the fuck up noob.

Yeah, I did/do. The reason why I'm wondering if because I traded manually and the other day I went to a conference where a bunch of autists were trying to sell their 'Expert Advisors' (fancy name for trading bot). When asked how their autism trader 2.0 decides to act, they all went that it's 'high speed technical analysis'. I'm a bit torn, I could program my own bot but it sounds fucking retarded.
i know 4chan isn't a place to post these. but really need to talk to someone and this feels like rock bottom.
Basically i am... or was a eBay powerseller. with over 29,000 Feedback and over 100,000 sales.
They just messaged me "All your listings have been removed and you will no longer be able to sell on eBay" With no reason why.
i went from an income over $6,000 a month to an income of $0 in less then 10 minutes.
I'm seriously considering suicide as i have no college education, i put all my time and money into my eBay account,...

Sucks ass man. But it's not that big of a deal, you'll find something else. Just think of the skills you gained from this experience.
Just move on and you'll get over it. There's different platforms, etc.
>>916378
well did you do anything sketchy? they don't want to prevent anyone from selling, particularly someone who makes them a lot of money through fees.
Do you not have a lawyer? If you didn't violate their TOS they have no reason to suspend your account, especially if you're earning 6 grand a month with it.
Calling them on the phone is going to do nothing, but a letter from a lawyer will get your account back up in no time.
Why aren't you making Android apps?
I am making 2500 a month making Android apps.
I make watchfaces for Android wear, most are 1-2 dollars for each watch face
I also make UCCW widgets for 1 dollar each.
I don't know how.

Post questions that don't deserve their own thread here. Anything that can be answered in a post or two should go here.
I'll start: outside of Capital One, what are some good no history credit cards? My score is decent but I'm fairly new into the game so nobody else really wants to send me a card.
Is Equity the same thing as Networth?
Or is net worth is all your equity together?
>>899153
Net worth is the value of all of your assets - all of your liabilities.
So if you own a house worth $300k and have a mortgage on it of $200k, you have equity of $100k in that house.
And that $100k is part of your net worth. They're very similar concepts.
Equity would usually apply to things or organizations more than people. Net worth usually applies to people.
In certain circumstances they're the same thing, such as how shareholder's equity is also the net worth of a business....

Had a friend who used to pretend to be a teenage girl and sell pictures of his facebook friends on craigslist

FINANCIAL CRIME THREAD:
Let's talk about how nobody has made worth mentioning capital in almost half a century at any crime and actually got away with it for any decent amount of time. Closest thing were a few heists and some drug leaders.
RELATED FACT: Banks and stores balance registers at around $250.00 in the US, but people still risk a decade in prison robbing them.
RELATED FACT: People who decide to B&E and rob always do it in poor neighborhoods where even the cars aren't worth much
what's some easy stuff to steal and make a few thousand?
>>735671
You are missing the point. Financial institutions are party to crimes that their employees commit. Gov't investigates large bank. Bank says, Oh shit! We're busted."
Gov't says, "We'll take away your charter to do business in this country!"
Financial institutions says, "Noooooooo!!!" We'll pay whatever you want to leave us alone as long as we don't have to admit we did anything wrong..." Govt says, "OK....we'll fuck over the people and...

With current inflation it's not worth the risk for anything that can't be flipped for at least $1,000
So I'm a 19 year old male already halfway through my undergrad. What was once a bright eyed male, eager to learn, has had horrible grades combined with a crippling mental state that has existed since childhood that has ruined my university experience so far. I can go on about my sob story but that's not why I'm here.
The Positives:
- I don't really spend my money on anything really, mostly fm games but I recently sorted myself out and I'm out of that trap.
- Have approximately 7,000 in my account right now with 3,000 in a TFSA
- Expect...

/biz/coin was invented on 4chan's Business and Finance board, a message board where entrepreneurs and traders can meet to discuss strategy or speculate on prices. We had many crypto currencies introduced daily with many fancy features but they didn't stick around or weren't of any use. We decided that a new approach and execution was needed to create a viable math based currency we formed /biz/coin. /biz/coin doesn't have any features on it's own, what it does have is a dedicated community committed to providing new interesting services to help grow...

Is IT the the best bet? To get wealthy?(assuming that's your only skill)
If you own nothing, except for 100k in savings. None of your family members own any assets, or don't control any resources in the world. In that scenario is IT your only way out of poverty? I mean something like creating the next big social network or app for mobile phones, or starting and running a IT company that servers other businesses will have much greater chance of success tham anything else at this point in time, right? Or can you tell me otherwise?
>>728241
Probably your best bet to get moderately wealthy. The salary cap is probably around $500k a year if you get into a very senior position, which is lower than in fields like consulting, banking, and law. Consulting and law tops out at around $1-3 million/year, and finance can be pretty much limitless but unless you're insanely smart and insanely lucky you're probably looking at around $1 million/year.
Keep in mind it's a very very competitive business, so yeah, unless you actually invent the next Facebook your most optimistic scenario is owning a software firm making shit for clients, which in itself is not at all easy task, too.
>>728241
Running your own IT is the best bet, working IT for anyone else is a low ceiling death trap unless you get into sys admin (your co-workers will be autists) or security.
You'll want to start by buying about $50 in tools (basic laptop repair kit, basic tablet/phone repair kit, sata to usb, flashdrive to boot puppy linux), and make online ads on any sites you can find.
You'll also want to make a website and e-mail address specifically for the setup, but don't drop any money into them yet. Make a gmail account and a wordpress website, once you get going and have decent experience you can drop $20/month into changing your gmail and wordpress into your own domain and your own @domain to be more professional. You should also consider using Google Voice for a forwarding phone number that only goes to voicemail, this way you can put a number on your site but never get bothered on your own line.
I know this because I'm doing it. Also don't operate in northern-central MA, I'll cut you for getting in on my turf.
Hey /biz/. I'm 20 and I have about £3k savings. Although I have a basic understanding of finance, I have 0 experience of actual investing. What would be the most efficient use of my money considering that I have enough free time to learn how to invest etc.

1 open Halifax Sharebuilder stocks and shares ISA
2 set up regular deposit of £300 per month
3 spend time each month researching a company or fund. at the beginning pick simple trackers and FTSE100 companies. no /biz/ day trading penny shares shit.
4 set up the regular investment in the ISA for that share or ETF or whatever
5 in 10 months you will have a neat little portfolio and if you did step 3 properly you should be getting a bit of capital growth or a small income from it. or if not then it should be...

Another seller I bought thousands of games from got in on this and was going to keep me posted if he could make money with it so I could buy the codes off of him like a middleman. Thing was though that people needed to have a specific OS in order to be able to use his codes. So of course he sold like 10 but nearly all came back wanting refunds.
Haven't talked with him in a while, might have to see if he's got new inventory he wants to offload on me.
>put up a steam code for sale - 5 days
>auction option, video game category
>listings get removed within 24 hours
>call ebay and ask how can others do this yet I can't (they also have 99999 feedback from doing it)
>they say I should just report them
>report them, nothing happens
yeah I know there's a high scam rate on steam games / digital delivery, but I still don't...

You're placed as the CEO of a failing investment bank (such as Goldman Sachs except you're several thousands in debt), the stockholders arent happy. Currently the only source of funding you have is the limited high frequency trading happening at a few of your firms. Your client portfolio is essentially dead with failing companies along with your unhappy clients who pulled out of your bonds. What is your first move?

oh my fucking god, where do I even begin.
First, where did you come up with this resume? It's horrendous. You're going to want to start over. I am not kidding, and trust me... you will want to start over.
Google "resume" and see what you're supposed to do. I can't even say everything that is wrong with this "resume" because EVERYTHING is wrong with it.
