Is this the greatest marketing scheme of the 21st century? Giant corporation tells stupid employees to intentionally misspell people's names so they spam social media thousands of times a day with pictures of cups that display their logo? And somehow people still fall for it. God bless America.
Are there any other genius marketing (obvious or otherwise) tactics you've seen lately /biz/?
Is writing humorous misspellings of names on your own coffee cup and writing the content into a blog post the greatest traffic scheme of the 21st century? And somehow OP still fell for it. God bless America.

I see it every week on Facebook and Twitter accounts of people I know. Always 20-35 year old women who find it hilarious.
Coca Cola putting names and phrases on cans and bottles. I dont even like coca cola but i still bought some because my name was on it

hey /biz/ i'm an online music producer and i get the occasional sale here and there but i'm having a hard time generating a steady flow of income
i know there's lots of rappers that need production
any advice on this?
>>998734
Many ways, all of them are "risky" ie. Not many chances of it happening;
1) get offline. Get to know musicians in your area. Produce for them, manage them.
2) make a cd, sell it online
3) work for a production firm doing 1)

>doing a 40-hour office week after living the unemployed life for 6 months
Jesus Christ adulthood is horrible
I know that feel, OP. Had an internship for about 2 months after graduating, and then rode a smooth 2 more months doing absolutely jack shit, and had the time of my life doing absolutely nothing and being comfy as fuck until I got a job to pay the loans.
After living the NEET life, work life is just awful. I finally understand how basement dwellers feel
you and me both brother
I can't believe I ever used to complain about school

The only thing that sucks is how restrictive my schedule has become. Living the unemployment life got depressing and my entire summer sucked since I felt like a bum the entire time.
How do I get a six figure job?

Thinking of moving to Japan and doing remote work/contracting (programming), currently live in UK and have UK passport etc
Already have tonnes of experience in programming but I really hate where I live and just want to experience life in a different part of the world but where its still relatively modern and has some kind of functional legal system and isn't corrupt.
Would it be tough to get a business visa as a contractor or as a startup? Are there parts of Japan where the cost of living isn't ridiculous like in Tokyo? I would rather not spend my entire...

Why would you want to work in Japan? The job market there is essentially closed, particularly for skilled workers. Also the people are incredibly xenophobic and racist. If you aren't ethnically Japanese /and/ speak fluent Japanese expect to be ignored at best or treated like dog shit.
The country is extremely hostile to immigration, which is essentially impossible due to a number of laws that make it difficult to impossible to own property much less obtain citizenship. Even if you did live there permanently you'd be paying rent for the rest of your life.

I live in California, my father left me with antique furniture (Chippendale style, chinese dragon chairs and so on) before he passed away. I am young, I've been carrying this stuff around (storage/uhaul..ect) to the point where i I cant afford to hold on to it. I've seen on the market what I can get for these but I dont want antique stores to rip me off. most of the pieces are in mint condition-unfortunately not all because of moving- so I wanna sell this asap.
I should also mention I probably have a month to get rid of them because reasons and my situation.

Start-Up Thread
I started a small music & entertainment company four years ago and only within the last year and a half things have kicked off. I have a growing team, a partnership deal with a major label, solid musical acts from across the country and the globe, and an entertainment network that most people would kill for.
The problem is - we haven't made any solid money yet, at least nothing to make a big deal over. I have this anxiety about taking things to the next level, a sort of panic that keeps me procrastinating and unfocused. Any advice or similar stories?
Any other start-ups out there?

Is IT about to happen?
Only President Sanders can save us from the monster that the financial industry has created. He will tame the beast rather than continuing to feed it our wellbeing. All the other candidates will continue to grow the monster.

Ideally the election would be between Bernie Sanders and Donald "meme magic" Trump, but in reality it will be Hillary vs some Jeb Bush tier retard

The system is indeed collapsing.
I had an interesting thought... How exactly does crime/fraud interlink with Economics?
Of course in order to make money in society you need to provide value... But what if people are tricked or otherwise deceived in some way? There is lots of people who have amassed great wealth, not by providing value, but by stealing. What does that mean for an economy? What is the overall effect and result?
Is there any good books about this topic that could be recommended?
>>999904
If you are talking drugs that type stuff it goes under black market/informal economy
If you like Freakonomics, one of the chapters is about a guy that wrote a book called Gang Leader for a Day. It covers drug dealing and prostitution in Chicago.
>>999938
Well I understand drugs and prostitution. It's just a simple transaction of product/service for money. That just so happens to be forbidden.
But what about stealing/fraud? There is certainly people with millions upon millions simply by stealing(as evident by such areas being valued as billion dollar industries per year)... But how does that work economically?
Basically how does the market respond to stealing/fraud in a purely capitalist way?
>>999904
>Of course in order to make money in society you need to provide value.
Hmmm maybe in a perfect market will all the assumptions but we live in the real world bob
There is lots of people who have amassed great wealth, not by providing value, but by stealing. What does that mean for an economy?
That means we get a non pareto efficent society where our ressources could have been spend better. Stealing basicly makes the economy inefficient (the effect is ofc negative)

Guys tonight I had a dream and in my dream I was using an app. The app worked this way. Girls were advertising sexual services stating their price and posting a picture. Just by tapping on the girl you'd confirm the purchase (I assume paypal?). There were reviews and shit.
Why is this not available yet? Is it a legal problem?
>>999579
That app holy shit

Prostitution is illegal in the US. Probably would work great elsewhere but that's too huge a market to have to cut out IMO.

This could be built as a p2p dapp on the Ethereum platform. There would be no one to prosecute. And it would be impossible to shut down.
Hey Im from Australia, 27 male,
Ive recently started a bridging course to get me into uni (Business and Australian History were my subjects) and I got a Distinction for Business and a Credit for Aus History
Im currently having trouble finding a proper job/career ever since I lost my job in construction (only a trade assistant was too easy and good money and people doing apprenticeships were earning a lot less than me)
Im wondering would it be stupid for me at my age to continue on to a degree even though I'm 27? Are my grades bad ?
>>999455
Sorry the bridging course is completed
>>999455
Hey buddy it's not too late to start uni, i studied in queensland and the average age of my engineering course was about 26, there were heaps of people even in their mid 30s studying. I think you need to stop wasting time on excuses and go all in ~:)
