I'm gonna keep this short.

My question is, are big4's really that bad? Is the wage that fucked up as a junior because of the hours you put in?
I'm having serious doubts about this since I might be better off working at a smaller...

If you don't have Big 4 experience, your degree is somewhat limited, but if you put up with it for a year or two you'll be set and can basically do whatever you might imagine from that point on.

The advantage of a big four company is getting a well known company on your resume and (if presented) getting experience with the choosen field fast.
Yes they pay poorly compared to the hours, also you have problems with maintaining a social life besides work.
That's why you see many people leave after 2-5 years. Then they have a proven record and can swith to comfy jobs with higer salary.

What this guy said. My roommate works at PwC (audit) and I dated a girl who did tax at Deloitte. It sucks your first few years, but if you stick it out, you will easily be able to secure six figures within 5 years, either internally or externally.
how much more relaxed is big 4 audit in comparison to investment banking?
>>1018492
during busy season (3-4 months) you work similar IB hours. Other than that its usually 45-50 hours a day.
Also you rarely plan to stay in B4 audit forever so once you put your time in you can leave to a more relaxed job.

40-50 hours a week**

Senior in high school here with $~1,300 saved up in a 3% interest savings account. I most likely won't be touching the money for at least a year. Is the savings account the best place for me to put it? I don't know much about investing and want to grow my money faster.
Suggestions?

Buy 1300$ worth of silver.
Get a robin hood app on your phone and put 1300$ into AXAS stock, wait a few months for oil to go back up and make bank

Well where you put it depends on the rest of your situation.
You're a freelancer so you have irregular income.
People with irregular income need an income buffer account on top of a 1k emergency fund.
Generally it should be 6 months of expenses. On top of your regular 6 months/ expense savings.
2 grand isn't shit in the grand scheme of things. and when you upgrade to real adult class investments with serious volatility you'll be glad you have those savings.

Yep, that 2k should be a good starting buffer for life's problems

No you don't.
If you did, you wouldn't be frogposting on an anime image board.

Yeah sorry about that entirely fucked economy due to an abundance of welfare leaches, open door policy to refugees and complete abandonment by most intelligent people from Ireland to Australia or USA to pursue an actual future.

Is that why so many Irelandcucks come to Canada to study/work? :^)
Hello , /biz/, poorfag here.
I am thinking of living a really productive life. Thus, I applied for a job in retail and I want to get an online degree (from pic related or other university). Financially speaking, what is the best degree I can get?
>>1018344
for profit schools are a scam
>>1019060
this, go to community college and see if you can transfer to state school
>>1018344
Local community college.
Could someone walk me through the steps to owning a word? I'd like to start releasing art, music and other content under a certain name, and it's already registered on a few sites. It doesn't seem to be in much use though, and definitely not by anyone famous or anything, so I plan to trademark and copyright it. What else do I have to do? I want to own all the rights to this name and be able to use it any way I please. And no, I'm not going to tell you what it is.
>>1018342
>Step 1: Go here: http://www.uspto.gov/
>Step 2: Throw money at the government
>Step 3: Receive trademark
>>1018343
Is that really it, though? After I own the name, can a huge corporation just fuck me over and use it because they're powerful?
>>1018391
No, but it costs $375 to try and trademark it, and you need proof that you'd be using it for proper purposes. The government then reviews your case and approves or denies your application. They keep the $375 if they deny you, to pay them for their time spent.
Ask a richfag anything.
Also, I have around 3k to spend on more stock, any ideas?
Pic related, my Robinhood account
>>1018265
>5k in Robinhood
>"richfag"
why invest in stocks? if you are rich, you could put your capital in ventures that have higher returns.
Are you me, OP? I'm in the exact same situation. 2k in stocks, sitting on 3k cash.
Hey /biz/,
Where do I find someone who has money that will work with me on the idea of mine.
The idea of mine can easily make millions once the product is made but I'm too poor to start off the business myself. You need money to do anything especially the little things.
Investors wont really buy in either. What do I do?

You post your idea here and join us as we laugh at you.
That's the most that you will ever get out of your idea.
Seriously though, post the idea; I need a good laugh right now.

If this idea has anything to do with beards, I'll cut you a check today.
Anyone else here sitting on cash at the moment? Things look too volatile right now for me to invest for the time being.

I sold my entire portfolio after the big dividend payout and recovery from the September dip. Now I'm buying back $500 at a time.
hello, /biz/. Is it possible to mail cash to, specifically, US Bank, or PayPal, as a sort of long-distance deposit?
I know this is probably a dumb question, but you seem like people that would know. Thanks.
heroic self bump
>>1018232
Use a money order maybe if you must. Or maybe travellers' checques. I don't know much about your issue despite being the CFO of a hedge fund.
The only businesses who accept cash via mail are legally ambiguous ones.
>Protip: use Bitcoin!
I was given 3 barrels of diesel petrol.
How can I make money off of actual stock?
I can't sell to individuals as that would take forever. Who can I sell to?
>>1018184
As in actual physical barrels?
>>1018184
I'm going to need a lab analysis on your 3 barrels of #2 and proof of title. Then you'll have to take me to a tittie bar to "develop my business" and you can write that off. Then you'll have to show me an inline transfer (if not in actual 42 gal drums) contract. I won't give you a letter of credit but I'll need to see your credit status to get on my books. Message me for more details.
>>1018320
hehe, Hall and Oil.
How can I take advantage in college to have great connections and opportunities open for me? Basically to make most out of it? Is joining a business fraternity a good idea? Clubs? Etc. Any advice on anything is appreciated.
Go to your professors office hours whenever possible. It makes you stick out from the crowd and you will meet other like minded people. When one of your professors industry buddies needs to full a position there is a good chance hell offer it to you.
go to as many parties as possible and be 'that guy'
>>1018161
Go to events, do extra credit in classes you're interested in, and generally be a sociable and likable fellow.
You don't have to be 'fake' to make it in college; just be a nice and hardworking person.
If you do have to fake those things, then fake them.
