What's that?
I've had ideas as to how to bring new money into my home town for a while that would work fairly well given every town within 10 miles has to export its entertainment elsewhere. We have around 25,000 people that could all be appealed to with the addition of a new open-air mall complex to get more designer goods and entertainment services. My hometown is currently a Walmart and restaurants. That's it.
A movie theatre is coming to town soon using an abandoned contractor supply store that expanded just in time for 2008 and went bankrupt by 2010.
I don't...

Malls are dying. Open up a UPS outlet instead so every time ppl ship stuff from Amazon youre on to that.
>>1046979
There's been one for a while, and I live too close to a major distribution hub for there to be much in the way of a middle man (FedEx central hub)
I wish I'd gotten in on the theatre, really. I knew that building needed to become one when it went out of business; I even did my research to get a quote on it. Unfortunately, I was 14 at the time and the quote was into the millions of dollars, so my involvement stopped there.

What were they right about?
People say stock traders don't pursue a cent of goods, but they are paid the most for pretrty much doing nothing.
Is this true?
> stock traders
> do nothing
its pretty damn stressful bro.

Brokers don't produce anything; they merely offer a service.
Just got back from the Big Short, pretty good movie but hated the banks way too much.
So that got me thinking, were the homeowners in the wrong in the case of the 2008 collapse? Were the Subprime loans obviously expensive so it was maybe the homeowners fault?
>>1046802
oh of course poor people who wanted holmes are the problem.
and that's why we have slave labor because people want cheap items... and are ignorant (stay in ignorance of) the labor used to produce it
I mean you can blame the every man for literally everything and it doesn't help anyone. The banks have billions of dollars and hire hundreds/thousands of people to plan their growth and maintain their capital, of course if they failed to do so its the consumer's fault.
Fuck you man

Nah breh it was obama
Next crash when?

this is by and large the quality of discourse the everyman believes as unassailable fact tho do'
I hope you're posting ironically.
This is probably a dumb question, but what's to stop someone making a news site and just plagiarizing the fuck out of every other major news outlet?
Just change some of the wording in each article so it's not an exact rip, and also has your own spin.
Seems like it would be easy as fuck to run. You basically get free content while washingtonpost and BBC pay the authors for you.
Thoughts?
That's what 95% of news outlets are already doing.

>Manletism doesn't cause anger
Not sure what the actual laws are, but the owner of said piece can file a DMCA complaint against you and Google and other major search engines will remove the search results for the content and or your site.

I'm curious if anybody here has any experience working in fields that 'sort of' require you to have a degree, but only to prove your credentials to a potential client. Meaning that your degree is irrelevant in terms of you getting hired.
A few examples
>Psychologist/Therapist
>Personal Trainer
>Dietician
I can't think of any more at the moment... I'm an avid reader, and Philosophy and Psychology have always been huge passions of mine. I'm...

You sound like you want to be a life coach, which is kind of the biggest bullshit thing ever.
I would say start by advertising as a personal trainer, and if a customer ends up developing a longstanding partnership and happens to begin confiding in you, then hoorah
>>1046837
I mean I get that it sounds bullshit. I just think that there's a bit of a disconnect in peoples' lives today. A lot of people have way too much stress. Stress from work, stress from relationships, an existential crisis, their personal finances, their body image/nutritional health/fitness level.
I'm not really where I want to be yet exactly, but I've come a LOOONG way personally. The ability to share that with other people and help them get on their feet would be extremely rewarding for...

Im a sophomore in college and I've been thinking lately: "hm i wanna buy a house"
My ideal conditions are a 4bed/3bath house for 110k. I would move into one of the rooms, so I dont have to live in these smelly dorms. Also, I would rent out the rest of the house by room for 450 a month and thats what I would use to pay the mortgage off.
I would get the down payment from myself, my parents, and a previous professor that's interested in investing his money into the house for a future payoff. I would get the mortgage from a bank with my parents...

Find Chinese wine glass supplier on Alibaba.
Sell on Amazon for 50x the price.
Would it work /biz/ ?
>>1046668
those kitchen chairs and kitchen look so impractical. modernism is such shit. Also the TV is too far away
>>1046668
>Would it work /biz/ ?
You found the supplier, and you've comp'd the prices on amazon, so it should... in theory.
Are you competing against your supplier on amazon?
Can you move a 40' container of wine glasses?(guess you'd only have to move 1/4 to get your money back)
I'm an Amazon Seller and that would be a shit idea. Too much competition and they can break in transit. Not worth
Hi /biz/, is studying architecture worth it?
>will I find work
>how much money can I expect to make in the EU (compared to an engineer)
Atm I'm in my first semester of mechanical engineering but I find myself being unsure if I can finish it with acceptable grades, also architecture interests me a bit more.
Don't make this type of inquiry. It'll only disappoint you. All anyones says is how hard/impossible their field is, and it's all bullshit. Yes, you need to work hard, but if you put in the hours and have any semblance of talent (and no major mental/physical disability preventing you from succeeding in said field), you will make it. You can be whatever you want to be within reason.
If you're going to be doing what you're doing for the next 40 years, you might as well be passionate about it.
>>1046669
I'm just scared of failing my engineering degree, despite actually being passionate for the field... thanks for your input though
>>1046673
You're not going to fail if you put in the work. Millions of people have done this before you. Do you really think they are superior to you? Be proactive. Talk to your professors. Tell them about shortcomings/what you're struggling with, and let them know that you want to be as good as possible. If you are proactive with a professor, you really can't fail.
