Do your homework re neighborhoods and rental rates. Save up enough for 3-6 months of rent.
Move there, get apartment, start looking for job that can accommodate (minor) scheduling changes (a bitch, these are in demand, especially in LA).
Once in job for 6 months, re-evaluate it and current living situation. Move/switch jobs if necessary.
>>1052113
Why not LA?
Can you guys post those websites where you can make some small coin doing tasks? It was like $5 here and $10 there type stuff.
I need something to do while my business is slow. I have a home service business that makes good money when I have customers, but it's fucking slow as shit right now. I've had like 1 customer this last month.
I have 10 - 15 free hours every week, and I need the xtra money. I am open to suggestions.

Hey /biz/
What are some recommended reads in relation to biz and economics textbooks.
In the last year I've built a fairly successful business and concepts I learnt in high school which I thought were useless have become extremely beneficial to me and in a major way has set me apart from competition. Concepts like vertical integration, opportunity cost, complimentary services etc. (I know it may seem basic but it's like i'm operating on another level to these guys.)
The few books i've read are more like biographies and self help or baby's...

>Bitcoin is dead
That's fucking funny.
Daily reminder that everytime Bitcoin dies but then it doesn't, his resilience increases and therefore becomes stronger than before.

What are some decent jobs somebody without a college education can get?
I ask this because I want to avoid taking on a fuckton of debt and four more years of school when I could possibly use that time to make money instead.

You can get into management. Just start out in a restaurant / retail and work your way up. You could be earning at least $20/hr in the US after a few years. Other than that, sales is a pretty popular option. Office gigs if you are a woman.

Hypothetical here.
SpaceX announces the fruits of their first space mining operation. They have brought an asteroid that contains more gold than has ever been mined on Earth, back to Earth orbit. They also have an economical way to get the gold down to the surface.
What happens to the gold market?
If it was brought down all in a short time?
If it was brought down at a slow and steady pace over years?
>They also have an economical way to get the gold down to the surface
Getting things to fall back to earth has never been the real problem.
>>1052186
Gold goes to commodity prices like copper and everyone will carry on using the superior and digital version of gold; cryptocurrency.

The problem is keeping the cargo from vaporizing on the way down. Also not hitting the surface with the power of a large bomb and scattering all over the place.
The dragon capsule can only return 8871 troy pounds. A launch of a single capsule cost 61 million USD. 13;500 USD per troy pound of gold. A total cargo value if it is all pure gold of 120,000,000 USD.
I need to vent /biz/. My family owns a rice farm here in the US. We're a small business that harvests rice for retail and emergency relief. The relief business is a good one, as it is through government contracting.
Government bids are straight forward, lowest price wins the bid or portion of the bid they solicit for.
Did I mention the part where we're a for profit small business? Over the last 4 years though, non-profits have been crowd funding their way into buying rice farms and competing against us for government contracts. Rice isn't expensive,...

>bloated CEO salaries
generate a lot of income taxes. Personal tax rates are much higher than the corporate tax rate.
As an American, I'd rather see your marginally surviving company driven out of business so that a highly-paid successful executive can run it better. It's win-win.
>>1052140
Why can't you sell to rice-a-roni, or to India, or something? There's turmoil on the foreseeable forecast and the yuppies have the momentum. TPP may open something up. Sorry, if you already exhausted these avenues.
The government should really factor how much tax you'll pay in the bid prices. It's like a cash back offer when you buy a tv, you just take the money you'll get back off the price.
Sad times :(
