Over the weekend the government realized that imminent mass unemployment was a real problem for their survival.
Since they only have so much money to spend, I'd guess they are rethinking their priorities now.
Pumping has likely shifted to bonds and real estate and mental resources have officially shifted to a desperate scramble to establish some sort of "safety-net" before the proles get too unruly.
Expect things to get worse.
Shareholder sales bans may be lifted soon, also,...

What's the best degree to get in order to get an H1-B (or similar/"qualified immigrant") visa relatively easily after graduation?
I'm looking for the option which offers the best prospects. I don't come from an elite school.

Stop dining out every day at work, save an easy $200-300 a month, and improve life. I don't eat breakfast the past 10 years, very healthy and fit weight class. Same with dining out on the road. Pick up some sardines/soylent for your car and store it there to avoid stopping and blowing cash on junk food.

Hey are online degrees worth anything? I've been interested in economics for a while now and want to try and get something out of it, are there any websites or programs ect? Does anyone else have experience with this and has it turned out well?
Thanks
Most degrees aren't worth the paper they're printed on. It's what you do pertaining to it that matters and even then employers don't give a shit unless it's impressive work. I will say this that most people when they see a school they don't recognize they get iffy and when they find out it's an online school they get even more turned off.
So that being said you will have to go out of your way to build a resume of side projects and jobs that will pertain to economics in order for anyone to take you seriously. This means before and after graduation.

If taxation of business results in less capital investment and less risk taking on the part of the shareholders, when will we see regressive tax policy result in a net increase of middle and lower class wealth?
It's been 40 years and I'm still waiting.
That's what I thought.

First full year of a "decent" job and I owe this much?
Go check your mailbox, /biz/. Your W2 is in there.

I mean it really depends on how much you withhold each month. And if you have no deductions, like interest paid on student loans, home loans, or dependents/married then there is no reason to expect a refund.
>>1062281
You might be onto something.
I need to re-do that Withholding form that they had me do when I started the job.
Damn. Now I gotta go to HR, which is Hell on earth.

I get a better job offer. Current boss wants to keep me and offers huge raise.
So here's a little background: I'm 22 and I've been at my current job for over 5 years. (I work as a DME tech at a locally owned pharmacy) in those 5 years I went from part time to full time, the store went under new ownership, and my pay went from $8/hr to $10/hr.
Obviously, I've been looking for a new job since it's hard to live on these wages. Well, I got a job offer at a medical supply company doing what I do now for $14/hr. They're a bit bigger...

Go new, the looking for job pay rise offer doesn't get handed out twice in one company
Leave. The second a company knows you're willing to leave on your own, you're on the chopping block for the next cost reduction measures.

Agreed. Also if you were worth that much to him, why wasn't he paying you more already.
Also consider future advancement opportunities.
Hi /biz/
I'm 18 from the U.K and there are apprenticeship applications open right now which will take place starting September.
My college education was in subjects I do not with to pursue to university (because of idiotic choices) so this is probably my only option apart from a shitty job.
There is a finance apprenticeship open and there is only a limited amount of info on the website about it.
The thing is I've never really done anything finance related up to this point and know fuck all about economics so I come here to ask for any tips...

Phone them and ask for a more detailed description of the apprenticeship and ask for the specific job title or department that you would work in. Research that job and find out exactly what they do. Then goal of your research should be being able to have a simple conversation with someone that shows you have at least basic understanding of the industry and that you are very enthusiastic about learning more.
They don't expect you to know anything really, just show that you're worth the time and money to train.
Just fake your enthusiasm in regards to 'working...
