Yes. Its designed around turning idiot members of the public into idiot day traders. The makers fully understand that their clients don't have the liquidity or the resources of profesionals and are happy to ignore that. Tax season, baby. I paid some people for services through paypal. It was one time commissions, but I paid a good sum of money in total to pay for people to make assets for my business. How do I report this on my taxes? Didn't see anything related to it. I'm a small self employed business right now, meaning it's self proprietary.
For the love of god, go to an accountant. At least once. Learn what is deductible, what isn't, etc. I can guarantee you're missing things if you're not sure where to deduct something that's deductible. It will benefit you in the long run.

A small fee is required for holding money in a savings account. Not unreasonable given the many benefits a bank gives you. I'm sure that the idea was thought through and no better alternatives were found, so of course it is sound.

Yes but it's nothing crazy, just like a faction of a percent I think. You still have to qualify to take it out. Given you can't just hoard it in savings until the rates are brought up to the positives, its bound to be used and provide a small economic stimulus.

I know I'm losing my job at the end of May, what's to stop me from purchasing insurance, racking up tons of charges, and then having my balance cancelled when I lose my job?
The only risk is that the balance is cancelled 90 days after job loss occurs, so if I'm employed again in the that time frame I may still be liable.

I'm assuming a bachelors. You'll most likely have to start out as a test or support engineer. Depending on the cost of living you'll make about 50k/yr. When you start out you don't know a lot of things like build systems, version control, test planning, and so on. As you become more skilled and knowledgeable you'll be able to negotiate higher salaries. Companies typically don't offer raises unless you ask, but you won't be in a position to ask until two or three years.
