What publications does /biz/ read/recommend?
I watch CNBC to see what the plebs are up to
How to make friends and influence people by Dale Carnegie.
Meditations of Marcus Aurelius.
Sometimes you just have to read the classics.

Not quite what OP meant by "publications", anon.
I'm sorry that this is a retard question.
So, if it's an easy question to answer, I'll delete the thread as soon as the question's answered or it can transition to QTDDTOT.
Is there a resource like Investopedia that I can go to to start learning about rental properties?
I know that I need to consult with a lawyer before I make ANY MAJOR DECISIONS on the ground (especially with subdividing/splitting a unit/living in one half and renting the other), but I am trying to get my chops for the basics when I'm well in advance of actually...

You don't need to consult with a lawyer but you do need to know the law in your country, state, city, and neighborhood.
>>1105577
I thought it was generally a good practice to have a lawyer to consult with when getting into a new rental property (especially as a first timer), but I was a student of Criminal Law so odds are I could probably understand the laws if I could figure out where to read them/to acquire copies.
I thank you for your advice, friendly tripfriend.
>>1105590
You will talk to a closing attorney. You're basically using them as a good faith scapegoat for the title insurance company.
Beyond that lawyers are an expensive added expense for property management and acquisition.
Unless you're going commercial in which case yeah get an attorney on retainer.
What would you talk to an attorney for?
You need clarification on a piece of law.
Complicated contract language.
You refuse to learn the law.
You didn't set up a tenant removal...

My friend told me something about how hospitals that accept sperm donations are now accepting toe donations, at $5000 a pop.
I don't think I really use my toes that much. Is it worth it, /biz/?
What the fuck man.
>>1099599
As I understand it, you can donate ANY part of your body, but since nobody really uses their toes, they're being slightly more heavily advertised.
>>1099596
Nah. Now if the rates were up to 50,000 dollars like they are up in New York, I would say TOEtally!
How do I can get to economically manage a website without having a work?

Single male
23 years old.
College educated in meme degree.
0 debt.
Splitting rent with 3 roommates, $600 a month
Make like $1800 a month working 40 hours a week at a hardware store.
Once all other expenses are covered I have like $300-400 dollars to myself every month.
I feel lost. I want to be able to have a home and family but I don't know how. Is that a possible goal for a mediocre person in this day and age?
Also I live in northeastern massachusetts.
Please help me guys I suck at being an adult.

Ugh...get a better degree?
Or join the military. And then get a better degree for free.
Or get a shit job that pays well. I heard you amerilards can make 100k on an oilrig. If only I had that opportunity...

wtf you´re doing fine, just save up and find a girl you like.
>Preorder Samsung Galaxy S7 from Best Buy
>Get free Gear VR and 32GB SD card
>Flip the S7 immediately, wait for preorder bonuses, flip them for $80 and $10, respectively
>Buyers pay shipping
>11% ROI
>2 hours total labor
Am I doing it right? Is this how a merchant operates?
>>1107593
Kind of. You got 40/hour, which is decent if you're using methods that can be replicated for full-time work. You'll eventually want to work your way up to bulk orders.
>>1107597
I thought of that, but 1) I don't have the savings for that, and 2) I'm sure the free Gear offer is limited on a per person basis.
>>1107593
short term gains like these mean nothing
merchants establish consistent day to day gains over a lengthy period of time
If I go sell my car for more than I paid for it, it means I am lucky, not a good merchant.
How do you deal with the fact that every level you achieve you instantly take for granted and want more?

get some nice hot juicy cock in your mouth and you'll forget all about that
no one here knows what it feels like cause they havent achieved shit in life yet.
Have you ever treasure hunted? Did you find something worthwhile? Prospecting/mining could also be called treasure hunting.
Interesting topic. Done some metal detecting for shits and giggles, with nothing to show for it, but it was a fun excuse to get out and explore.
Would love to hear other's stories, if they have any.

my uncle does a lot of gold prospecting. if you can't dredge then there's really not a lot of money and even when you can it's comparable to just having a low paying job. It's very very unlikely you will find anything significant, there really is no "lottery" to be won.
we do it mostly as a family event, we get all the aunts and uncles and grandparents and kids out in the rivers here in northern california and just have fun, it's much more rewarding than trying to navigate...

Hey /biz/ i have $1,000 in my back pocket and I'm wondering how i can make a bit of money without getting a job or selling drugs, does anyone have any simple ideas for a college student, cheers.
Flipping laptops, electronics, cars.
Jew down who you buy from and up sell for a profit.
This involves research, and the balls to jump on a chance and take it.

What are you doing to reduce your 2015 tax load?

>What are you doing to reduce your 2015 tax load?
The time to ask this question was back in 2015. Now all you've got left is basically IRA contributions and HSA deposits.

I'm working a below minimum wage job to minimize my tax load.
Works out to be a pretty hefty interest percentage. Downsides of these? Seems to be a lot safer than betting on regular stocks

At least, that's what I can figure. I've got my savings tied up in shares right now earning a 4% dividend, but 4% isn't much.
Of course, it's academical for a few years, because I can't get the money out again before a certain...

How do economists restrain themselves from going on mass murdering sprees every day? How?
>>1106716
Actual economists think both sides have some right ideas and both sides have some bad ideas, but taht's okay because they're more interested in how people make decisions, not what the talking heads on TV say the government should do.
>>1106716
Because they'd rather stick around and see whose theory is right.
The same way that physicists don't go to Hollywood and kill everyone there. They are resigned to people being morons and tune it all out.
