Use 2x4s. An 8 foot 2x4 is under 2 bucks at Home Depot. You can build a solid desk and leave it unfinished for 30 bucks. Compare that to $50 for the cheapest particle board you can find that wont last a year.

I'm involved in a team developing a new messaging app.
Our main problem is that people who register in our app just go after some time. We've been thinking on the solution, but did not figure out any good solution.
So we decided to investigate how other messengers got popular. It's quite obvious about WhatsApp, but what's the thing with the others (Viber, Kik)? If we do the same, we could gain some userbase and money for further development.

I want in on the Ethereum shit but I have no knowledge on crypto currencies. /biz/ always tells me to buy bitcoin but I always avoided it because it seemed complicated. I also tried years ago and didn't understand it.

Well first of all, Ethereum is a seperate and more advanced cryptocurrency to bitcoin. Some call it bitcoin 2.0
You can get a wallet by either downloading the mist wallet beta or by using a paper wallet generated at myetherwallet.com
To buy ETH easily you will need to obtain bitcoin first, use loacalbitcoins to do so quickly.
Then you can use shapeshift.io to convert to ETH quickly or you can sugn up for poloniex or kraken crypto exchanges.

likely technological limitations, sure it would be possible but it would just be too expensive. there would need to be a major increase in demand for 7 day processing.
when you're dealing with a system as large as ACH you're going to be working with some of the biggest databases in the world, and those databases are business critical so they can't be neglected.
generally backups and such are done in nightly batch cycles, but all the maintenance and updates happens over the weekend.
