Hi /biz/, this is my firs time visiting this board and Im not sure if you guys have QTDDTOTs since I didn't see one in the catalog.
Anyways, I'm 18 and have a little over $500 in cash to spend.
No bank account and no credit card.
My problem is that I want buy a few things from legitimate online businesses. But the only way would be a credit card.
I know there are prepaid cards, but how do those work? When a website asks for only credit card number would it accept a debit card numbers? Which card would be the best?

a prepaid card is just loaded with a set value (like 20$). its bullshit, just get a credit card but at your age it might be hard unless you have worked at least a 1yr on the books job because creditors look at this and they also start you off at a low credit. prepaid cards cant be accepted as a credit card because they will know off the cards 16 digit number.

Read the back of the card for all the rules. You typically pay like $3 for the card, and then everything else goes onto it. You can't refill it until you go online and register it or some shit. Anybody work at Costco? Apparently they have a strong culture of promoting from within based on hard work. I make $13 per hour as a cart pusher but if I work for 4 years I will get raises until I max out at like $25 per hour. After that I could potentially become a manager and make like 90k per year.
Anyways I was wondering if working at costco seems like a good career. Idk if I should be a full time worker here or just quit and work full time so I could focus on getting a degree ( in something useful like nursing or engineering )

It's too dependant on one company, you're basically at their mercy to not having firings or reduce/layoff a few people some time, which is a huge possibility.

What are some good choices of major for 2016? Is an econ major employable or satisfying? Pic related. Would have a 3.7 GPA but I just got a .7 in one of my classes so I'm stuck with a 3.1 so unless I get the class withdrawn I'm stuck with a 3.1.
Graduated with economics and stat, got a job at the federal government. Basically I just analyze industries to publish National accounts the BLS and BEA uses to make their little reports.
Kinda boring but good benefits, (telework, have off every Friday) so I can live far from the city and do some hobbies.
I just show up, go to one or two meetings a day and then put my headphones in and do my job without people bothering.
