What do you guys think about getting job training and education through the military? I was a burn-out up until a while ago and figured that I should go into nuclear engineering once I realized I had the knack and passion for it. Apparently Nukes make more than most officers, and have crazy good job prospects even if they only do the minimum 6 years? Plus, the G.I. Bill seems like a good way to get a minor in logistics, finace, or something (the nuke training is about enough to get 50-60 credits and I'm just finishing up my AS). Anyways are any of you guys going this route,...

Don't the cons out weigh the Benits every time. I was in for four years the only thing it taught me that can be applied to the civilian world is common sense and that could be fucking learned without risking your fucking life

A Mexican/Chinese crossover restaurant called Loco Long's Bar & Grill
We would serve things like wonton tacos and geneal tso quesadillas.
Alright, I'll start it off. If people are willing to go to the Hard Rock Cafe and pay exorbitant prices for food that is no better than T.G.I. Friday's, then what is stopping anyone from expanding this concept into any other field with memorabilia? I've seen this one overpriced restaurant in Chicago based on baseball announcer Harry Caray, with a similar set-up of gaudy gift-shop and walls covered in themed memorabilia good enough to be framed but not good enough to go in a museum.
I think an extension of this concept-a chain restaurant based on cinema-would...

Why would people go to your shitty movie restaurant when they could have a kung pow burrito at Loco Long's Bar & Grill?

Why don't you own a set yet /Biz/?
>Low premium
>Fine looking Metal
>Not Fiat
Why have you still not bought one of them yet?
>>1176698
Suuuure, when the economy collapses, people will still care about soft metal.
Buy shovels, guns, and blue jeans if you're really scared.

>Take an instant 9% loss when buying at spot

Why do people even bother?

Don't you understand that the taxpayers fund your intrest and dividends when things go south?
Essentially you are paying yourself, but using a middle man. Well done.
I've been working at this job for 3 weeks now, almost 4. It's a real basic entry level position. Just cleaning cars. I just got an email from corporate stating that I am to attend the new hire training. Was I signed up for this because I don't do my job well? Why would they have me attend training 3 weeks after I've already started? I've had shifts all to myself even. I'm at least twice as proficient as my other co-workers. What's the deal?
>18 year old neet
Some manager was told his new employees should become better trained so he emailed everyone. No need to worry.
>>1176671
>I don't do my job well?
then they would have just fired you then.
>What's the deal?
just think of it as company training. they want you do to things their way
>>1176671
This is pretty normal in corporate world. It is probably training everyone has to take regardless of their role.
Ok /biz/, I've created a product, its new, and it is in the 'transport' category. I hired my engineers and designers and we made it, and its beautiful, so much space for expansion and monopolisation also. But how do I market and sell it? Kickstarted, approach big stores like walmart and the likes?
ALSO, I know this product will BOOM in china and japan, so how do I market it to them? It will be on the market soon, so i'll keep you updated in the future.

No, but it will get you pussy. So technically, same outcome as a dick enlarger.
You saved nothing in your life (renting house, no savings) and have nothing in your life, besides two adult sons.
You turn 65 and go on pension. You're a healthy person and will sure live up another 20 years.
You received a 300.000$ bonus and will receive 1.500$ pension every month.
What would you do? No limitations. No boundaries.
This is going to be a real situation for someone in my environment. I am curious what others would do.
I'd take opiates and steroids, as much as I could afford.

It depends what you mean by adult sons. If they're 18 and getting ready to go off to university then my first priority is to make sure that my offspring have the resources they need to get an education.
If they're like 25 and already working and this $300k and monthly $1.5k is all going to me then that's an entirely situation.
In the latter, I'd just continue to write books until I died. I doubt I'd stay living in Canada, either. Might as well go live as a nomad while spending...

Why is the IT industry still loaded with job opportunities? It seems like everyone and their grandma are entering into IT. I mean, I can see top-tier code magicians being in high demand, but it seems like even low level code monkeys can find jobs with ease.
>>1176601
It has the biggest potential to make money. Also tech is always changing so there's always going to be new people to hire. There's tons of jobs in IT. You've got tech support, technicians, developers and lots of other shit. All of its constantly changing.
>>1176601
Since IT is such a sea of shifting sands, if you're good at bullshit is easy to get a good gig even if you don't have the technical chops to back it up.
Information security/cybersecurity is the current flavor of the minute for IT in most financial sectors, while most manufacturers are looking for developers and mathematical modeling geeks (for both automation purposes and for engineering purposes). There is cross over there, data analytics and financial modeling and whatnot, but those are the two...

Computer science is constantly expanding. IT is dying. There will always be computer engineering jobs as long as new code needs to be written, but sysadmin babbies are watching their jobs become automated. Even web designers are finding themselves out of a job.
Which Real Estate Investment a better choice?
Directly owning your own rental real estate.
Or
Buying into a Real Estate Investment Trust.
Depends how much housing costs in your local area, any skills you have with home improvement and the amount of money you have to invest.
To buy a house to rent, I'd suggest at least having 30% of the down payment.
Unless you're familiar with /diy/ I'd suggest REIT
I'd love to own a rental house or a triplex in a hot area, but for now I've been pretty darn happy with REITs. I own Annaly Capital and their dividend has been sweet like honey. Steadily dripping honey. But, if I were to invest further I would probably go to a non-mortgage REIT and probably one of the healthcare or data center trusts.
I've been hesitant to set it to reinvest, but frankly I wish that I had done so a year ago.
The advantage to owning a physical property, from what I know, is that you gain some write-offs.

How long have you owned them? And how many shares?

Why is my luck so bad? I literally want to die. I am the most unlucky person ever.

yeah you may deserve it
But more seriously, if you buying stocks makes them go down, then you're all set for shorting any stock you want!!

The Chase Freedom card has the same 15Mo 0% intro APR, no annual fees, but gives you more points with a lower purchase minimum, so look into that one.

i know biz has mostly autists, but hopefully someone can help. i am graduating from hs this year (18 yrs old) and want to pursue finance in college. as far as college admissions, i have been accepted into ucsb, pepperdine, and syracuse. not great business schools, so i was wondering if i should go to community college for 2 years and transfer to lets say ucla, or have 4 years in a finance program. my only concern with cc is that it may affect interships and stuff further down the line.
>>1176376
Go to a CUNY community college.
There should be no excuse for not getting a 4.0 if you aren't a slobbering idiot.
Transfer to CUNY Baruch-Zicklen School of Business to finish your undergraduate program, and transfer the relevant credits.
Study like mad. Get as close to a 4.0 as possible and suck up to as many department heads for recommendations as possible.
Finally, if you play your cards right, then you can enter a graduate program at NYU Stern (as I did) or any business school of your choosing.Comment too long. Click here to view the full text.

During your first two years in which you are in CC, you can put internships to the side, or you can intern for "low-ball" firms.

When you are in the undergraduate program, they will not blacklist you for formerly being in a community college

I am currently in about $8,160 worth of credit card debt, with the average interest rate being about 22%. I've been looking into debt consolidation programs but they all sound sketchy as hell. "Let all your accounts go delinquent, we'll pay them less than you owe and you pay us with 25% interest"
How would you guys go about paying this off in the fastest and smartest way possible?
