Ive noticed a trend with this board that's just absolutely depressing, yet sobering.
So much talk of success, productivity, profitable ventures. And then when someone asks to discuss how they did so... radio silence. And so on and so on, ad infinity.
so on that note, for those who actually came here looking for advice on how to be more productive... just get off this waste of space. i dont have answers, and it seems nobody else here does either. its just vacuous air, here.

Look everyone a no coiner.
maybe you failed to listen to the gurus on here.. Ive told many people on here to buy X stocks and invest in Y.. but they never listen.. I guess when you have a low IQ and cant follow simple instructions, you are doomed to a life of a poofag
This was a containment board for meme coins being spammed on /g/ and /b/. Literally nothing more. Besides the meme coin neckbeards, you got college students pretending they are successful people making up stories. Same thing at how all the teenagers on /b/ claim they make $300K a year. There's like 3 tripfags on this board that are successful. The rest are NEET meme coiners or college students/wage slaves. If you take anything here seriously, then you are as retarded as the kids on /adv/ taking relationship advice from other cucks or the people on /fat/ taking fitness advice...

Started a tile business 1 year ago. Today the business is absolutely exploding. As it turns out, in contracting, as long as you just do good work and aren't a complete fuckup you become very popular.
My phone is ringing off the fuckin hook, and the only option to meet demand is to hire someone.
I'm a little nervous about it. So here's my checklist:
- get insurance
- get a payroll company
- get workmans comp
- get some hiring documents
- set up a training plan
- find a hard working guy age 20 - 30
Anything I'm leaving out?
>>1220743
fucking 1099 them
Congrats man, I remember your thread last year
>>1220747
Ehhhh.
But they really are legit employees though. They will have a schedule, hours, management.
I heard doing that can fuck me in the long run.
Plus isn't that kinda dick to the employee?
How wealthy do you have to be for owning a private jet to be viable?
If you don't travel that much, it's not viable no matter how wealthy you are.
>>1220717
You could say that about any mode of transport.
>>1220717
This kinda
Their rates are fucking retarded higg, even if you own the damn plane.
With public flights and skype calls private jets are there for corps that enjoy masturbating

Where do upper middle class people hang out? Specifically NYC?
Like where can I go to chat what other upper middle class people about our 401k allocations and cost effective annual trips to the Alps or Hawaii over pours of bourbon and scotch?
Upper middle class in NYC. That exists?
>>1220426
In NYC, I consider that making 100k+ if you're single.
If you have to ask, you don't belong there.
Canadian finance general.
what are you guys holding RN? what are you going doing rn?
I'm working on building up a nestegg, personally. Here's where I'm at so far(hope to work a lot lot lot to build it up over this summer):
- 75 shares of VFV(getting fugged by the CAD going up lately)
- 50 shares of VCN(Just bought since CAD seems to be rapidly improving)
I bought like 20 shares of VRX. Shitting myself because tomorrow's the reports
Also SRAQU just sitting there and just sold some gold etfs
>>1220246
>Valent Pharmaceuticals to admit to wrong doing
Uhoh, that does not look good m8.
Real talk though, i want to get on the s&p train because I KNOW it's going places but the CAD going fucking up is destroying all my gains. I know if I buy more VFV by next month I'll just lose enough more money...
>>1220256
Ceo jacked the prices up 300-400 percent, same thing Shkreli did
The stock was 300+ before so it's either going to skyrocket or drop depending on their 300 billion bank loan and statements tomorrow.
I wanted to put money in VFV as well, but the Canadian dollar looks like it's coming back, but I'm hearing negativity about them showing the months losses that'll cancel out January's gains
Hi Guys, sorry for the old thread getting archived before I could respond to everyone.

>I moved to CO from IA at the end of 2010. Didn't do my 2009-2013 taxes until last year. Years ago IA said I owed them like 1.5K for 2009 (for the taxes I never did). Ignored it. Ignored it. They then sent me a letter claiming I owed them state taxes for 2009-2013 (for income earned in CO). Like 11K.
>Called IA Dept of Revenue. Since I never filed any returns they think I was still a resident of IA. I never got a new driver's license and mostly used my parent's address (forwarded things from there). That...

>How does one make a living as a CPA. I only see you guys actually working during tax season. How do you get paid the rest of the year?
Well, my friend, there are MANY types of taxes, and lots of people file extensions. In Summary, if you ONLY do taxes (which we do not) you have the following:
a) Federal Income Tax - April 15th extended to Oct. 15th
b) State Income Tax - April 15th Extended to Oct. 15th
c) Partnership Tax - April 15th extended to Oct. 15h
d) Corporate Tax - March 15th extended to September 15th
e) Sales...

>What was your process of becoming a CPA? (as in what major and classes you took) How long did it take to where you are now?
>What did you do after you graduated?
1) CPA goes Undergrad in accounting, masters in accounting related topic (I did taxation). Take 4 tests, pass all with at least a 75. 1 Year work experience under a CPA, then Presto, NY State gives you a license (if you pass ethical interview).
Each state has its own requirements, though all are pretty much the same. I needed 120 college credits...

ok /biz/ im thinking about committing to my first leveraged buyout of a small local company. it brings in 220k a year in gross revenue, nets 80k/yr, has 15k in assets, and owns the real estate that its on.
i found a bank that would be willing to loan me the required amount to buy the ice cream shop from the owner (300k including the real estate) and the bank has agreed to the business and real estate as collateral.
why should i not do this /biz/? it looks like a risk free way to get in the game without having to beg friends and family for money/reinvesting my...

How did you get a 300K loan? What's the collateral/interest?
>>1219258
the collateral is the business and real estate that it owns. the interest is 6.3%. im only leveraging 70% of the business as well, as its worth more than 300k. the owner cut me a deal on the real estate that its on because he wants to move to florida and not deal with it anymore.
>Be small business owner
>Make around $30k a year
>Bullshit my taxes, add a shitton of deductibles, legally of course
>Only report maybe $5-10k in income a year
>Ends up biting me in the ass when I apply for a small business loan
Fuck this trap. If I report my true income, then the IRS steals 40% of it and my tax bill just becomes enormous. If I do what I'm doing now, I can't expand and get a loan....

Never start a business on a loan you fucking retard.
>>1218930
I didn't you retard. I've been in business for years now and want to expand and I'm sick of reinvesting my own money into the company over and over again. I know damn well what I'm doing. I'm not some faggot restaurant owner or independent contractor either.
>>1218919
Vote trump and we'll make the middle class great again.
Did I break some sort of job interview etiquette? After my interview was done, I was offered the job. I told the interviewer I would get back to him. (I literally got a voicemail from another place asking to do an interview while waiting for the interviewer to show up). I feel like he gave me a strange look, or maybe it's just in my head.
you probably could have communicated it better, maybe let him know that you're considering some other offers
>>1218467
Is it possible to not be nervous in an interview? I've had 3 this week, and I feel like I'm not coming off as awesome as I actually am
>>1218479
do a lot of interviews. or drink a beer beforehand
"Lol who cares if you make 300k if the cost of living is so high!"
You guys should move to haiti so you don't pay rent with a $1 salary.
Because it's often true. The only thing that matters financially is post-tax, post-essential-expense income. And, like it or not, some areas are better for this than others.
That's not an argument, that's just how it is.
Different places have different costs of living. $20k/year would make you homeless in New York City whereas $20k/yr in the Philippines is 4x the average salary and would give you everything you possibly need to live.
>>1218452
you should kill yourself so you won't have any expenses at all
What does /biz/ think of the mathematization of finance and economics?
Is it good and necessary, or will it lead to the downfall of the banking system as we know it?
You need to be 18 to post here

I am. Tell me, what's so stupid about my post?
>>1217900
Math is only bad if you don't know exactly what you're calculating and make bad assumptions.
In other words if something related to it goes wrong it isn't math's fault
Whats the best thing I could do with pretty bad chronic fatigue? I can probably only work in short bursts a few times a day and I know I cant hold down a stable job without flexible hours.
How do you heal chronic fatigue?
>>1217761
I don't know I was just asking what kind of jobs/work I could do, at least in the mean time.
>>1217761
You don't. It's a life sentence.
It can get less bad though.
I thought like an idiot that teaching would be a good idea because I could be ill during half terms which are approximately every 6 or 7 weeks
I'm in hell. Don't do it.
Do a job where you can sit down and with minimal pressure for ok money.
Or build a business from home
Are Keynesian economics a meme?

What does /biz/ think about Acorns?
My buddy uses and recommends it, I'll download it today and get back to you OP. This thread sparked my interest.
What is your thought on it?
Why not just use robinhood and invest your spare change into meme stocks? Assuming you're in the states
>>1216659
I never used it, I am thinking about it.
What was your GPA in undergrad?
Currently at a 3.93 right now but might get a B this semester which will drop me to a 3.88 and nix me from summa cum laude. How fucked am I?

I have a 2.8, you'll be ok.
>>1216497
No one's going to care as long as you get the degree.

Some places require 2.5 or 3. Usually it doesn't matter past that, but if you're still worried check out jobs
