>mfw want to start a business, but can't think of anything
Everytime I've asked you guys before, I've gotten sarcasm as a response. I'm not gonna give up hope, though. Maybe one day I'll own my own business, but it'd be nice if I could get some direction first.
>>1238577
If you can't think of anything then you should start with real estate. Put at least 20% down plus fees/commissions.

Sigh.
Since you seem like you're not going to get the hint I'll just spell shit out for you.
Find a need, fill it.
Use profits to expand.
Rinse, Repeat.
No one can tell you specifics because we're not you. Only you know what is needed in your area, only you know what you skill set is.
If you're looking for someone to hold your hand and walk you though the steps of starting a business, making a business plan, getting start up then you probably shouldn't...

Question guys,
Do I think to highly of myself?
I have been applying at various restaurants lately because I want to be a server to make fairly decent money until I figure out which direction I want to go with my life. I have a few years under my belt of marketing and customer service experience, and I know I am very good at working with people and understanding them. My personality is strong, confident, caring, empathetic and the list goes on.
Basically I am over qualified to be a server, when I go to the interviews, you would think I am applying to a large scale corporate job. My interviewing skills are phoenominal, I am well dressed and I carry myself with confidence.
Now I feel like this can intimidate employers because they see me as sort of a threat to their jobs, that is, unless the restaurant owner interviews me.
I keep turning down positions because It almost is as if I am interviewing them. Is this the wrong mentality to have? I am looking for a place where I would be comfortable and confident in working at so I can make the most money for my time spent, and in turn, increase revenue for their business.
>>1238540
An example of a question I was asked, and my answer shocked and I believe intimidated the one interviewing me.
"Why do you think you would be a good server at O'charleys?"
>Normie Answer
Uhhh, I would be a good people person
>My answer
The jobs I have had so far have all been customer service based, and I believe I could bring a unique perspective to this company that would help create a vast portion of revenue for the both of us.
>>1238540
If you are applying for jobs at O'Charley's, then you don't think much of yourself at all. Also, you didn't take the time to Google all the big complicated words you misspelled, like phenomenal, O'Charley's, and too, so you may be misleading yourself about who the idiot is in your interviews.
Is working as a security guard as dead end of a job as I think it is? I've been unemployed for a month, have no real aspirations in live other than to die before I'm 30, and I hate people. This kind of job seems perfect but there seems to be a ceiling of $14/hour with no real upgrade available without prior military service.
The reason I ask is because there's an ad in the local paper seeking 50 new security guards and it's tempting as fuck.
>>1238533
Ah, youth.
Yeah, it's a dead-end job. That 450-lb guy you meet on your first day? That's you three years after you'd always hoped to die.
Take the job. Use the money and dead-time to study and train for a higher paying job with a built-in suicide method (say, electrician).
>50 new security guards
Wew, it might be dejecting if you don't get it. Do it, then apply to police college in a few years, make sure you crack a head or two before applying to that. Police state inbound if it ain't already here.

Should I just go to law school /biz/? Will finance help in corporate law or going to financial law? Is it worth it if Ivy?

Why SHOULDN'T USA just default on its trillions in debt or at least part of it?? Lets just get it over with and start again.

Treasury bills in a given country are the highest ranking, most secure debt in that country. When US tbills get downgraded by credit agencies, it fucks the rating of ALL bonds in the US. This happened recently based just on the US budget deficit, without even a default would would fuck ratings extra hard. So what? So every US company Corp bond gets downgraded lower than tbills. So what again? So that lowers the value of the bond. Lower ranked debt has to pay higher interest. So what again??? Well lots corporations...

Just bear with my logic. its odd.
So its better to have $trillions owed to someone with the thought they might get it back. (actually who does own that debt)
Then to have them not ever get it back.
OR should I not even think about debt in this way?
p.s I'm not anti/pro FIAT or GOLD just pro markets and capitalism.
Whats happening with silver in the short term?
I have a kg and will be cashing out within 2 months no matter what, is now the best time to sell?

So I've got $4000 cash I was going to put towards a new car this summer. Lately I've been second guessing getting the new car (2012 Dodge Charger) and was thinking about investing the cash instead since I'm going to school full time in the fall.
What are the best things to do with the cash? Are ETF's still good?

Get the car and get mad pussy at uni
Crazy how I can probably get better financial advice here than from my parents. Anyways, I'm looking for a place to live now that I'm getting closer to graduating uni and I've got a steady job in my hometown. My dad suggested I go out and buy a "starter house" of sorts, instead of "throwing money away with rent" (Sounds reasonable enough), but he's convinced I'd be looking at $20k-$30k for a starter house, when from pouring over Craigslist means something like pic at best.
Anyone have some tips on general house-hunting for...

Where are you located exactly?
This is critical to any housing discussion as different countries are experiencing different real estate markets
>>1237954
assuming you live in Buttfuck, IA I agree with your dad. Go cheap but ask the inspector to really look into the roof and if you can afford it try to negotiate mold testing if the seller is also game. Don't get cucked with a 25k house that needs another 25k of roof repair and mold removal lel
