I can't take it anymore, I really don't like my job. It's been over a month and I've been in this state of mind since maybe the 2nd or 3rd day on the job. I just don't like sales. You should apply for other jobs (or gov benefits depending on where you live and your circumstance) before leaving, and then use a letter of resignation, give them a week or two's notice, and go from there.

Im a Web developer who graduated a couple of years ago, found out today that im on the same salary as other grads who push spreadsheets. Whilst comparatively im doing lots of heavy lifting with php/javascript and it feels unjust.
Ive been in this role for a year now, and have asked for a promotion to reflect my responsibilities but no joy. Plus the routine has gotten stale, so its time to leave.
I want to go freelance, I have friends to see in different countries and hobbies that encourage me to travel so being remote is ideal.

Go to live in a cheap country like Thailand or Indonesia and try to freelance from there. You will be able to save a ton of money in a couple years, after you have enough money saved up you could easily buy a house in a better country. Rinse and repeat.

I've worked freelance, unless you can secure a client you can constantly work for it's very feast or famine, you may end up missing the consistent 40 hour work week.

Just got fired from my job as a market analyst. Evidently I made one too many bad calls and it led to a whale client firing the firm I was working for.
/biz/anons who've been in similar situations, will I still have a career after this? Or is it time to invest in an exit bag?
It's not a huge deal. Look for a new job in the same or similar field. You can either lie at the interview or be honest and tell them how you learned from your mistake. It shows you learned from your mistake and it's highly unlikely you'll make the same mistake twice.
Story time: I work for a prop trading firm. Lost 10k because of a stupid error. My manager got really angry at me. Sure as hell not making that mistake again.

Yeah, I'm also interested in this. Any experienced readers? I'm currently reading the Millionaire Fastlane and it's pretty good.
So checking the archive, it looks like general consensus is that Benjamin Graham's two books (first two on OP's chart) are heavily recommended as well as the rest included in this (besides Babylon, which is too basic to be helpful).
A better resource to start from for vocabulary and the basics is investopedia.com
As well as Peter Lynch's stuff (one up/beating the street) Bogleheads, and Millionaire Next Door.

If the area is heavily wooded and in a cold climate you can go around asking local farmers if they would let you remove their fallen timber to sell, most would say yes as it gives them more arable land.
Buy a Chainsaw & Splitter, you can claim these as a tax deduction with depreciation if you work as a business. Sell firewood.
This model suits me at the moment (right vehicles available, freezing climate, tonnes of wooded farmland and friendly farmers)

What trading strategies do you employ to what end?
Do you pump and dump penny stocks to make a quick buck you can put somewhere safer? Do you focus on slow and steady gains for security?

No one on the poor side has more than $300 to their name and are all on welfare. Depends on where you live, I live in Europe so I'm using degiro. Mainly because it allows you to buy US stocks so I can buy the meme stocks. If you live in the USA you should obviously go with Robinhood.

We know that the system is stacked against the commoners and is built to maximize the profits of the rich. So let's discuss ways we can game the system legally (and not so legally). I'll start:
- buy new books, photocopy them, and return them for a full refund
- if you need to use something that doesn't have consumables (ie power drill, clothes), buy them in a big retail store and return them before the return date
- max out your subsidized student loans and put them in something like Vanguard. take the profits and pay back the loan 6 months after...
