So, I'm about to start a small online store selling mostly t-shirts that I've designed. I have about 30+ designs to start off with, and I believe I'm going to go with shopify for the site. Has anybody used Shopify, and if so, what do you think about it? Also, how bad of an idea is this?

ive used shopify multiple times (every business failed; not shopify's fault, only my own).
it's really easy to set up a decent looking site (albeit time consuming).
Here's a hint: google "Shopify 30-day trial" and search around for a slightly longer trial so that you can use it without paying and test the waters for a month.

recently graduated college. been working for about a year in my career, two jobs at tech startups as a developer making good cash.
The problem is, I despise having to work 9-5. I'm starting to get bored of programming and hate the culture associated with it.

What does /biz/ thinking about getting a car they can only afford with a loan?
The thing is, I am a 23 year old student with a small business. I repair mobile phones. However, I don't have a car myself and I feel like it slows my business down because I want to focus more on businesses. I also don't have the money available to buy one without a loan.
By getting a (as) new car I think I would make myself more available for customers and I think it would give the impression that I am successful and thus more reliable.

If your business is your only source of income, that clearly means that you're making enough to get by. So, why not just save up a couple thousand and get an older, reliable car? Honda Civic, Toyota Corolla, Mazda 3... You should be able to get a good used car for less than $5,000.

I just want to start earning passive income, I don't have enough for real estate. I published a couple ebooks but they aren't really making anything and I'm losing confidence.
I've invested £5k into dividend stocks (LSE) which I'll carry on doing.

I don't think you should be focusing on passive income vehicles. It takes a lot of money just to get a trickle of income and even that is taxed.
Instead, focus on capital growth first.

Well, it's possible, but I don't think it's the best. Obviously, since you have 1k a month, you don't need the extra money that passive income will bring, so just put it in an index and watch it grow. Unless you sell, your taxable income from this will be very low, only what your small dividend will be, which you will reinvest with DRIP. In the meantime, figure out what you want your life to look like - where you want to live, what your expenses will be, what kind of lifestyle and income you want.

Have a $230,000 mortgage on a house worth about $330,000. Pick related how far ahead I am on my mortgage and can redraw all that at any time if need be. Intrest rate on mortgage is 4.64%. I also have 450 oz of silver and some cold all up worth about $10,000 so I have about $80k to work with or $110k if u were to sell the house but the house brings in $1000 a month from room mates rent so I doubt I'll sell.

nice choice with silver, the catch up to gold is gonna be insane. if you still want to diversify there is precious stones that could interest you, more or less 4 to 8% a year usually. i would not recommand more than 20K per stone for obvious reasons.
