Hey,
I just wanted to start to learn the basics of the stock market and investing/trading
What are some good books to read for a novice ?

Preserving Kneepads by Dr. S. Onkak

cant find it ?
Get a Financial Management Textbook, Get a Portfolio Management Textbook. Learn to understand financial statements. Look for books about Technical analysis. Websites like investopedia, Morningstar and The Motley Fool are great. And also you could always start a portfolio of fake money for practice on websites like investopedia.
Specific credit card question.I'm hoping that tripfag, Li Sheng (it's something like that) shows up because he seems to be our resident credit expert.
I already have established credit, 740 score, 8ish cards, ~$35,000 total limit. My question is, I just got the Chase Amazon Rewards card. I'm sure I'll use it eventually, but hypothetically if I never used it, not even once, would it positively or negatively or not at all affect my credit score?
Other than that, credit card general. I can probably answer most of your questions, if you have any.
Its a pretty based card. Its next on my hitlist once my inquiries fall off.
It will not directly affect your Credit Score. but what it will do is reflect on Chase's Internal Customer Relationship Score. They know what you spend. If you reach a point wherein their metrics say nope he's a useless risk and they cancel the card due to unsatisfactory relationship.
That will affect your score by dropping a chunk off of total limit. But I guess back to whatever level you had it at before the card plus a little bit for average age of accounts.
But that's...

>using the cash advance ever
Why the hell does HSBC keep sending me cash advance "checks"? I've been thinking about closing my account with them over this, it's my second oldest though.
Should I major in Accounting or become an Electrician?
There's a lot of angles to come at this question. Don't consider me an expert I'm speaking hypothetically. They'll always be need for an electrician, so if you land a job you'll most likely never lose it. However there's always the risk of injuring yourself and if you are crippled then you could be screwed. With accounting in the beginning you may be discouraged if you can't initially land a job, but later in life if you keep advancing your education you could become wealthy and comfortable, however as with lots of jobs technological innovation is slowly replacing the need to hire real people, so there's always that to worry about.
Do you know someone in one of these professions?
I tried my local IBEW (in Pittsburgh) and it was so political that it was impossible to get in. Accounting for me now is the same way. Big 4 is impossible unless you know someone.

Political or beurocratic?
Background, 20 year old Pre-med junior.
Didn't want to be like all the other fucktards who go to college to rack up debt so i started pressure washing business. (Yes i know, not the grandest idea but i had only the 800$ needed to start the buis up).
I started it a year ago and so far have made around $40,000. Cash.
Here's the problem, business has started to wane in these past few months. (its ok because i still drive around in a 96 Chevy s10 and live frugally in a run down apartment, and therefore have a safe pillow.)
What do i do to spur my business...

Hey man. I really don't have much to offer and sorry to hear about the business. You probably understand that most people here just want to play business rather than have any actual business... but If you are 100% legit and want to invest in yourself. Supposedly this is legit and I've followed him for a year and half now or something and he seems "real" go to YouTube and type in keith kalfas and look through his videos. He does 75% landscaping and business stuff but 5% pressure wash and 20% window...

Looks like we're entering the second crypto recession.

Good. Now I can load up.
If BTC goes back below $300 (which I doubt) I will finally enter the crypto market. I'll buy at least 100.

How do I fix this?
I only have 2k in the bank and have a 2015 f-150.

Think about it, philosophy boy.
Apply some of that rigorous thinking you learned as a scholar. I'm just half joking. Assuming you didn't just smoke weed you must have learned something of value. Start a blog, do a youtube channel, just do anything and do a lot of it.
I work in real estate.
Judging by the low rates, low inventory (with no uptick in sight), inflated home values, sky high rents, we're headed for another housing bust in the next year or so.
Spurred on mainly by investors. It's gonna get ugly.
Sucking dick indoors doesn't count as working in real estate faggot.
What is "for-sale inventory?
The number of houses on the market?

Yes. Near record lows with builders not responding to incentives.

What the fuck did you just fucking say about me, you little bitch? I’ll have you know I graduated top of my class in the Navy Seals, and I’ve been involved in numerous secret raids on Al-Quaeda, and I have over 300 confirmed kills. I am trained in gorilla warfare and I’m the top sniper in the entire US armed forces. You are nothing to me but just another target. I will wipe you the fuck out with precision the likes of which has never been seen before on this Earth, mark my fucking words. You think you can get...

anyone familiar with simple bank (simple.com)? thinking about opening a checking account with them instead of ally or schwab.
I'm not sure I see the advantage Simple offers over an online account that pays interest (Discover or Ally or Synchony).
>>1324180
Or just go with major banks so you have security?
I like simple. Cap one bank is also good. but get whichever has better rates.
Hey bros I don't see much on here about mining Bitcoins which is surprising since cryptocurrency seems so popular here.
I live in the states and was wondering how I would go about making a BTC mining business. I was thinking I would;
>scout an area with low electricity costs
>open up a small unit or warehouse
>buy a bunch of asic rigs
>profit
Is this a good idea or is there a reason it's all being done in china instead...

its impossible nowadays for an individual to mine, unless you wanna make $10 a day or less.. most miners are big companies now with insane hash-rates.

I wouldn't say that's right at all.
I think you don't know what you are talking about.

It's easy OP, I just use the 1000$ to buy a gun and use it to rob a 5,000,000 guy. He'll have to pay because I have a dominant position and guys with 5 million are logical and safe. It's the perfect plan.

Why is Bitcoin going up?
>725 USD per BTC
>>1322068
I haven't been watching it and I don't know how to answer your question.
$725 sounds ****ing high.
more like $760, down from $780 earlier in the week.
One theory I've read about the sudden jump is that the Chinese are dumping their cash into Bitcoin before their currency crashes. It's the new Vancouver real estate.
Also, bitcoin halving is occurring in July, so part of the current increase is pricing in the upcoming reduced new supply of BTC./
>>1322091
Pretty high. It spiked at 1200 a few years ago when the chinks got ahold of it.
>>1322068
Like someone said, halving. And then it gets more attention because its going up, makes it go up more. We'll see over the next few weeks how BTC is affected by the halving in reality, a lot of its increase (from 580 a week or so ago) is with the mining reward halving coming up sometime next month. People are getting in early anticipating an increase (which causes it...

Started 2-3 weeks ago. Invested 3btc @1.6k total. started at earning $30/day. Reinvested everything and BTC went up crazy in value. I now make $51.14/day at current value. Going to keep reinvesting until I reach $100/day which is roughly 40 days from now. I am betting that even if this site is aponzi they will survive another 6-12 months easily. Check their google trends, they just accumulated tons of new users who will shill for them.
