I translate content from Chinese to English, for news about crypto, commodities, real estate, etc., and I would like to turn this content into an additional revenue stream. What are some reccommendations to get a website off the ground? Or do you think I am wasting my time? Website is built and ready to go.
I could see some interest in this. Go for it.
Thanks.

pic not necessarily related, actually.
Muhammad Ali cared for being a champion more than he cared for the training. He had a passion for boxing regardless of how he felt about training.
This might or might not be true for the OP. OP, what do you value more? Think about the reasons that made you go into science, and think about the reasons you're studying for the GMAT now. Think about your passions, interests, and how well you can play on those to make money.
Sure, you are on /biz/ and you're asking...

If I followed my actual interests then I would stay at my job and just be an average joe just like I described in my OP.
My problem, and I think it's not unique, is that I like the idea of making a lot of money and I like what I do now. I want to make enough to know for sure if money is the key to happiness

I've been thinking about being an employer. It seems much more extensible than self-employment.
But my money is as good as anyone else's. What are some ways to create an illusion of company loyalty, or even pride in working for a company?
So far I've figured out the following:
Be distant from the workers (i.e. not some cringeworthy Michael Scott "buddy-boss"), but know their first names and send them some kind of gift or token on their birthday. It would flatter them to think they are individually relevant.
Offer petty privileges...

You're already trying to trick employees that you don't even have yet? As if the world needs _another_ useless Jewish parasite...
>>1325769
This actually doesn't work for millennials. They always think they know better and always too lazy to do anything. I know what I'm talking about, I went to college. The only loyalty they have is their paycheck and the networth of the company.
>>1325769
good luck anon
For you to get enough prestige as a small company you need to show a possibility of growth as big as possible and seem to care about employees, giving them some benefits and small gifts such as you have said to make them "fell important"
It would also be good to emulate some workplaces like google and give them somenthing to do in their break time like vydia or a foosball table
I would like to start something manual like window washing, handyman, car cleaning ect. But it seems like there is lots of red tape purposefully put in your place (insurance, CSCS cards, having to be qualified for certain things ect). I wish I could just print off some posters at the library and put them through peoples doors offering handyman work or do you need a license to do that too? It's hard here.
Don't be autism.
Literally nobody cares, especially if your name is something like Bogdan.
They will assume you are not a registered company and cannot give them a VAT invoice.
You can still pay your taxes as self employed if you wish.
But remember that businesses will want a vat invoice. So washing fleet vehicles and store/office windows may be out of the question.
You don't need anything to wash cars, windows and handyman.
You get paid in cash nobody will fucking know.
You "need" a chainsaw operator's license if you're...

It's a dumb name, anon. Nobody will have any idea how to pronounce it phonetically due to ambiguity. And having "com.com" as the end of the URL is stupid.
But at least it's not too hard to remember, since I'm gonna have this shitty URL stuck in my head for the rest of the day.

My undergrad is math and my university offers a masters of science in "Stochastic Processes in Finance and Insurance"
Is this a good degree?
For those who haven't done math stochastic processes are basically random processes like stock prices.

Let me guess, you didn't want to register under your real name?
lazy but intelligent hedonist here
i'm tired of working for other people
what are some easy businesses i could start up with minimum effort and risk?
none
either low effort and high risk or vice versa
>>1325573
Lazy but intelligent doesn't exist.
True intelligence means you wouldn't be lazy.
As hard as it is, you must accept that fact.
You are unworthy.
So I've read the sticky, this isn't a "how do I get rich guise" post.
I'm 18, a couple bucks to my name, no inheritance and no special skills. My dad lost his $100,000 job and don't know what's going to happen.
What skills should I train in, where should I work? Unskilled labor. I live in PA, there's really nothing good economically here. Should I get out of this state or train/take classes? I'm thinking electrical work as a skill.
I don't want to be rich, just enough to comfortably live with a family down the road
Live like a monk, save 70%+ of your earnings, invest them in market index and you'll be free from "just lost my job" problems.
Who is your daddy and what does he do?
I mean, what did your dad do for a living?
I'm only asking since if he was earning $100k I'm assuming he was a knowledge worker, and maybe you can leverage that.
I'll expand on that if you answer.
