Rollins, Ambrose and Reigns have all gone onto become top stars in the company.
Only Daniel Bryan of the Nexus has had similar success, and he was only part of it for one night so I doubt he even counts.
The Nexus had a lot of talented members, but all of them have either left the company or been relegated to jobber status.
I think Barrett has world champion potential. He has the size, the in ring ability and is great on the mic. But he is about to leave the company a failure.
Ryback has been up and down but he seems pretty directionless at the moment.

Simple
1. The SHIELD was a 3 man band and planned to get the huge push from the get go, the Nexus was thrown together at the last second
2. The SHIELD had that badass entrance and gear, the Nexus had generic green Ns
3. BMJ and Orton
Because the Nexus all looked like jobbers. Except Barrett who is too injury prone to push properly.
The Shield had way better matches and looked better and were more over and were booked better.
