Boston terrible x pug
Yes you read that right.
2 sisters are looking for a forever home.
A little about them they are 3 years old pug × Boston terrier
we adopted them a couple months ago from a family who could not longer take care of them.
They are very loving and if they could they would want all your attention...all the time.
They have some obedience issues that we have noticed we have been trying to work on.
1) pulling on the leash during walks
2) barking (they seem to like to bark and other dogs passing by)
3)Garbage ( unfortunately they like to dig in the garbage) we have not fed them human food since being with us.
Regardless of the issues that they have, I love these two so much and it kills me to put them up for adoption but being transferred to a different country has not given me much of a choice.
So If you are willing to take these two loving girls on regardless of their obedience issues I would love to hear from you and set up a time to meet.
$1000 for the pair
Includes 2 individual crates and 1 other crate they can share and a doggy stroller that fits them both

>pls take my mutts that are poorly trained and have behavioural problems
>$1000

Not sure about dogs but I constantly see Leopard gecko and crested set ups of geckos near death with shitty aquarium tanks asking for 300
>>
>>2027561
Yeah, they're pretty cool. I had one in my old tank before I moved. Little guy was surprisingly quick and active for a snail. He did munch at plants, but that's what the non-nerite snails do. They have genders, so if you get a female she'll probably be pregnant right from the store and you'll end up with "nuisance snails", but I kept mine in a separate tank until I was certain it wasn't going to give birth and everything went fine.
I guess I miss the little fucker a bit now that I think about it.

>>
>>2027658
In my opinion, rehoming fees aren't entirely a bad thing, since they weed out the people who are just looking for a free dog to chain up in their back yards.

Location of this dog?
>>
>>2027693

But when taken to certain extremes, its terrible. I just said fuck it and bought my dog from a byb because it was cheaper than getting a pound dog. The cheapest shelter I could find wanted $150 for the dog, and another $100 for spay/neuter, were as I paid $200 even for my dog. I actually had one woman tell me that the pupper i was looking at was $400 because if I could afford the dog then I could afford to take care of it.

I don't care if people want to sell dogs, but god damn, don't charge $250-$400 for a fucking 3 year old pitbull cross that has behavior problems and tell me its to make sure i'm good for the dog.

>I have a longhaired mostly white cat with a few black smudges which is why he is knick named Smudge., that needs to be rehomed after the death of a family member. He is about 4 years old unneutered and mostly an outdoor cat, he likes laying on your lap and having strokes. Unfortunately we can't look after him as my wife is allergic to cats and we don't have anybody who can take him. Is there anybody out there that could give him a loving home?

A fucking unsnipped outside male cat. Ridiculous. Feel sorry for the poor mite though.

>>
>>2027554

I looked those up a while back when I saw them at Petsmart. I can't remember what they're called but I'm pretty sure they're not really nuisance snails. They eat algae and stuff, mostly leave plants alone, but breed pretty well (which might be why they're "nuisance"?). I took a bunch home from Petsmart after that, haven't had any issues with them.
>>
>>2027554
>>2027970
Forgot the species name, but the common one is malaysian trumpet snails.
They carry a handful of parasites, and have become naturalized around here.
As far as being a pest in aquaria goes... they're "livebearers" and a single snail can produce more without ever breeding. They don't damage anything, but can be unsightly in their plague proportions if they have abundant food.

If you encounter a wolfdog, it is 100% in your best interest to assume the owner is lying. I've never met anybody with a real wolfdog. The ones I've seen online have been showoff assholes who clearly only bought the pet to gloat.

I texted the "Siamese" person and they're furious. They've tried to call me three times. I'd love it if somebody else would provoke them.
>>

Wolfdogs are extremely hard to care for. Plus, anybody who gives you an exact % is lying. You can't tell without blood tests; wolfdog owners and breeders generally use the terms high, mid, and low content.
>>

>>2028062

In my home state (AK) actual wolfdogs were fairly common because no one gives a fuck up there and everyone wants one

That makes more sense. Everyone likes to pretend they have one around here. My lunch lady in highschool showed me a picture of the wolves she owned legally, but seriously. How the fuck do you care for wolves on lunch-lady salary and hours? I pray for those animals.
>>
>>2028085
Yeah I don't think they're in the best hands generally. The folks I knew with them kept them outdoors in cages (albeit large cages where they could walk around) the majority of the time. I don't really think animal welfare is too strict up there, they have enough other problems.

Wolf traits tend to be rather dominant and will show up for generations. As long as the observer knows what to look for, a visual exam from pictures is quite often enough to give a simple yes or no.

Determining how much wolf content is in an animal is generally the more difficult part (ex. a mid content that received primarily wolf traits might be hard to distinguish from a high content that retained more dog traits).

This is a pretty good (quick) explanation for how to tell the difference.
http://realwolfdogs.tumblr.com/roughguidetowolfdogcontent
>>
>>2028117
There's no Siamese in them at all. Tabby isn't a breed. You're in the same boat as the person who posted the listing, apparently.
>>
>>2028130
So pretty much the ears and fur texture/coloration along with the tail?
>>
>>2028130
I believe yourdogisnotawolf.tumblr.com takes submissions and they will assess whether they think something is actually a wolfdog or not. It's usually pretty obvious when dogs aren't wolves, but look at tamaskans. It's very hard to tell sometimes, so I usually only listen to owners who really sound like they know what they're talking about.
>>
>>2028135

Yes, though things like paw size/shape and facial structure tend to be the biggest giveaways.
>>
>>2028139

They do, and the blogger generally gives fairly thorough explanations of why they're saying one way or the other. One of the best reads on the subject is the link below, which comes from a sanctuary that takes wolves/wolfdogs in. It's a good read, but probably tl;dr unless someone's really interested in the subject.

>>

>Black mutt that comes from a lab-looking mom and a malinois-looking dad.
>Everyone calls it a wolf.
But why.
>>
>>2028147

Between Hollywood routinely using dogs like malamutes as wolf stand ins, and misrepresentation from idiots whose husky mix is totally a wolf you guys, your average person tends to have little idea what a wolf actually looks like. Pic related, the 'wolves' in Twilight almost have more dog traits than wolf ones.

It's the same way that any dog with a blocky head/short coat is likely to be called a pit at some point.

It's to make sure whoever gets the animal can afford it. If you put "for free" up, you'll be swamped by ghetto idiots, but if there's even a small fee involved you're going to keep the niggers and wogs away.

>>

>>
>>2028554

Depends on the shelter, and the severity/cost of the issue. A reasonably-funded no-kill shelter is a good bet, a no-kill breed-specific shelter is a better one. But neither is a guarantee.
>>
>>2028073

That's a cool area. It does look a little crowded but they are probably getting some pretty good attention in an enclosure like that.
>>
>>2028554
Doubtful. Even no-kill shelters do put down animals if they realise nobody is ever going to take an animal. Dogs with chronic sicknesses and owners that can't afford treatment are usually fucked. Even if the owner can afford a treatment there's a good chance the dog is still fucked because getting it put down and buying a new dog is cheaper.
>>
>>2028226

>serious injuries only
>>
>>2028554
I suggested this in an email to him to which I received no reply obviously. I even suggested very good shelters nearby where they absorb the cost of vetting and treat them in the shelter. I've seen way worse dogs in these shelters than just a badly treated ear infection. One of these shelters even has a thrift store where everything is donated to the shelter and has frequent fundraisers for their dogs, will do expert behavioral training and I've seen poopies have surgeries for cleft palate and hip dysplasia. Hopefully he takes her somewhere where they'll take care of her or someone comes along that wants a qt GSD with stinky ears. :(

I wanted to adopt a cute little blind kitten from a rescue but the sheer amount of bullshit I had to put up with turned me off to the whole thing.
>>
>>2029228
like what?

I adopted my kitten at one of my city's rescue org's events at a PetSmart and it was no muss no fuss. Filled out a bunch of paperwork and paid them whatever I felt like (it was a "choose your price" event) and was on my way, never heard another thing from them even though they were supposed to follow up with me activating her microchip/taking her to the vet within 2 weeks of adoption.
>>
>>2029323
You're expected to work at home and meet all of their lofty standards and if you don't you're out of luck. It sucks, I really wanted to help out the cute little guy.
>>
>>2029323
I suppose different rescue groups will have different rules, but when I got my cat from a rescue group at one of the PetSmart events, there was paperwork, a hard $250 fee, and a home visit before they allowed me to take her home.

Not complaining really, but it can be pretty extensive. I can see why people would prefer to avoid the hassle.

>>
>>2029357
That's mental. I mean I guess I can understand because he's blind but that's asking a lot of someone and limits a load of potential great adoptees.

>>2029358
Christ. I spent $30 total (it was all I had in my wallet) on the actual buying and then about $100 more on the supplies/toys for her while still in the store (granted I already had another cat so I had a lot of stuff already). The org in question's goal is to simply reduce the kill rate of my city, which it's done extremely well, but I'm guessing that comes at the price of not really screening people too much.
>>
>>2029363
The rescue I went to is essentially a collection of foster homes, so I guess they can afford being picky. Their yelp page reflected that, there were a lot of single star reviews from people who'd been snubbed. I ended up buying an aussie/border collie mix from a local farmer, we spent half an hour or so talking and I paid a deposit so I could return in a month and pick up the pup. Nice guy.
>>
>>2029370
Mine was pretty much a bunch of foster parents too, but it seems like they're very high traffic since they pull as many animals as they can straight from the euthanize list and try and rehome them ASAP.

If you want a shepherd a farmer's gotta be your best bet. My childhood dog was a herding breed as well, love them.

Yes. Wolfdogs are illegal without permits. If you say your dog is a wolf and the police find out, it'll get put down in most states, no questions asked.

Not to mention the size. Another trait I've seen in wolf dogs is the protrusion of their tendons, or rather, how easy they are to discern. Specially in their front legs.

Or just a "...I spend money on this POS and I want some of it back, after all, I did clean his shit up for two weeks".

Seriously, only shelters should charge a re-homing fee. Everybody else who has some respect and interest for their pet should do a superficial screening of the person who wants to adopt the dog for free.
>>

I paid $50 for a mutt Himalayan. She was a sweet thing until she died from a heart attack.
>>
>>2029783

>>

>>
>>2029786

>>

Right, she was an awesome cat.
Sad she died but cats never do last long.
She lived 12 years. Had her pawprint taken when we took her to the vet and put it up on my door.
Still miss her though. Daisy was the kitten I raised on my own, my first real pet.
>>
>>2029791

That's the sad truth, anon. Be glad your friend lived that long. I know a lot of people would give anything to have a pet that long.

My pupper is 6 1/2 years old and fighting distemper for what'll be 3 months in 8 days, I have lost track of how much money I've spent to save him, and how he is going to acupuncture therapy to help with his paralysis.
>>
>>2029789
Yes, actually you can. I'm not paying anything more than 10 for a domestic xhair mutt unless it's from a shelter or comes with similar perks. I'm not paying for a cup of dirt that I can go outside and get myself. You can pay a hundred for all I care, but that's a damn expensive cup of dirt.
>>
>>2029775
It's not really about making sure they'll be decent owners, it's a simple "credit check". If they accept the rehoming fee they can handle expenses and/or planned ahead for the day they finally went out to get their pet. If they complain about the fee, they're being cheapskates about 50 bucks, just imagine if the pet gets a disease or something else expensive later on.
Making sure they're not the types of people to lock it outdoors and expect it to feed itself is separate from this.
>>

$30 isn't even a lot, what are you salty for?

And people can be nice with good intentions if you "screen" them, but if they don't have enough money to take care of the animal nothing else matters. You can't be poor, and have a pet because you "love it". There's still veterinary expenses, food, shelter, etc., etc. And people can just lie about shit anyway. Money/fees at least show you have SOMETHING coming from SOMEWHERE to help you care for the pet, though they should screen you along with the fee anyway imo.

The only reason people take these precautions is because some retards out there just adopt all willy nilly and fuck it up for everyone by being shitty owners. The way I look at it, it may be hard sometimes to adopt pets, but it makes sure that the ones that are being adopted are going to people who actually TRY.

Pets need the whole package.

>Long & slender as shit legs
>Posture: Does it keep its head & tail down even when playing?

All prominent in wolves. Some breeds show the characteristics more then others. If they can't tell you exactly what kind of wolf it mated with & tell you who owns it, it's not a real wolf dog.

Fuck. That animal really is very wolfy. I'm seeing some content. How did you housebreak him? What's your containment like? How old is he? If he's a he.

And if it is male, and unaltered, how do you deal with winter wolf syndrome?
>>
>>2035622
>I'm seeing some content
That's because it's not a hybrid. It's a full blown gray wolf.
I've volunteered at brother wolf animal rescue 2-3 hours a week for about 7 years now. I've had a lot of experience around full blown wolves

>how do you deal with winter wolf syndrome?
It's an unaltered female(inb4 spay/neuter cucks; no she is not breeding. it's about keeping her personality in tact) & she goes through the same thing.

It's all about how they were treated when they were young. If you were physical with them as a child they are more likely to be physical as an adult. This is why it's very important for the first few years of their life you don't give them toys they can be aggressive with & give them alternate avenues to express their instincts. For example I would take her back up to the BWAR twice a month to go on hunts with them. They have a fuck load of land & do those every now & then

my issue with rehoming fee is its not a rehoming fee. it cost the current owner nothing to give it to you.

this is like saying my 1997 toyota camry can be had for a rehoming fee of $1000 because I had to put oil, gas and insurance into it.

if you are not a shelter its simple for sale.

everyone who sells anything has expenses and they include those in the sale price
>>
>>2035661

>if you are not a shelter its simple for sale.

CL tries to do the right thing and doesn't want people to sell pets for profit. At the same time, "free to good home" ads attract shitstains like animal hoarders and dog fighters. The rehoming fee is basically to deter people looking for throw-away animals.

>this is like saying my 1997 toyota camry can be had for a rehoming fee of $1000 because I had to put oil, gas and insurance into it.
