I was walking my dog in the woods when I stepped on something round and gelatinous. Thinking it was a puffball, I broke it open, and the thing on the left came out. Does anyone know what the fuck I just stepped on? Am I witnessing an alien invasion?
It's a fungus. maybe a morel. Keep an eye out.

It's not a morel. They don't grow where I live and the thing that came out is like a hollow ball made of plastic netting, not a solid fungus.

Nvm, managed to ID it myself. It's a white basket fungus. Really cool fungus, happy to have found one now.
