Making friends with this guy, updates to come. He lets me pet him and was happy to be toweled off. If my hounds can get along with him, they will be an interesting example...

Dude it probably has rabies or something else wrong with it.
>>
He's turning out pretty friendly. After some cat food and attention. He's kind of a baby...

All your shit, he will break it

I hope you enjoy living in a meth house because that's what your house will look like

They're not bad pets, they just break and get into fucking everything
>>
Haha he's in a dog crate while I super baby proof. He will have a crate next to the dogs if I'm gone. He still needs a flea bath and brush before he comes inside...lol
>>
>>2160599
Cats aren't even remotely interesting you dense cunt
>>

>Thinking he won't get out of the sog cage.

Raccoons can be pretty friendly, but they really will get into everything.
>>
>>2160699
This. They will chew through your goddamn walls like it's nothing. You constantly have to keep an eye on them 24/7. Theyre such shits.
You could always build an outdoor enclosure, though.
>>
>>2160726
How large? Couldn't I do like a rabbit, chinchilla, sugar glider, etc? keep him in a crate or cage except to play with it. Not very animal friendly...Couldn't I give him toys and even maybe an old desk or something like that to fuck with? Won't he eventually learn no and even a litter box?
>>
That raccoon is very cute but that kid has a mop on his head

>Keep it in a crate except to play with it

You shouldn't do this with ANY animal, let alone a wild one.

Look up a caresheet or something.
>>
Kid you need to stop this now and get a clue.

Raccoons become aggressive when they mature and play by biting the shit out of each other. It will need a friend, keeping it alone when you go to school will be torturing it. They can carry parasites which will literally kill you. Also this is probably illegal. It's a terrible idea in all ways.

>If my hounds can get along with him
That seems incredibly unlikely. That raccoon is going to set off their prey drive so hard.
>>
>>2160735
Hell no you can't. It's not a hamster. They raccoons(and coatimundis which are a relative of raccoons found in the pet trade some times) need free roam of your place or a large enclosure. Theyre very active animals and space to climb. It's not a dog. Tell a raccoon no and it won't give a fuck. It will bite when iy wants. It will become very aggressive if you lock it up and become more of a nightmare. Won't be his fault either since locking him up like that would be incredibly inhumane.

I mean crate as in greyhound or mastiff crate with a ficus or cat tower. 5 feet tall, 8 feet deep. Make a small habitat for the little basted. Don't let him roam throughout the house. He will have a big space to climb around, he can learn a litter box. When he's older, let him in and out the window inside and out. If he's got a large area to call home, gets treated like the other animals, he'll learn to behave, eg. 1984. The room he would stay in is an addition so it's easily separate from the rest of the house.

A playmate will be tough as he ages. The larger he gets, the more action he will need, just like any mammal. Thanks, thats something i hadnt consideret yet. Right now he loves cat toys and chasing a tennis ball around, as well as grabbing at my fingers. No biting yet but it's a constant worry. I have falconer gloves if need be. We have 3 spayed cats on the property, the youngest want to play with it. It will need shots, I'll call it a ring tailed chihuahua.

The deed is done, it won't survive without me provided cat food and housing now. I've got some free time to stay playing with it. Only the mother hound has been trained to find them; she knows he's here. His first impulse to dogs is arch and hiss. He didn't pay attention to the old beagle, she also doesn't show any interest in him. Hopefully.after some tlc he can warm up to my excitable puppies and be part of the family

No. A dog crate is not better. You need a large enclosure or let him free roam. Raccoons need to run around, they need space. It WILL get very aggressive and stressed. Also stop feeding it cat food. You have no idea how to take care of this thing. You are going to have a neglected, very angry, sick animal. He will not learn to behave. I'm just repeating myself at this point. It's a raccoon. Sure you can teach it to stand up or some shit but it will do what it wants, and will bite you and hate you if you try to discipline it.

You can still release him despite you are feeding and playing with him. He is a wild animal and raccoons know how to find food. The only problem would be that he is used to humans but non hand raised wild raccoons also don't give a fuck.

R.A.B.I.E.S.

Also, I'm pretty sure keeping a wild animal as a pet is illegal, and if anyone catches you with it you will be given a fine and maybe even arrested.
