I also saw this Swan at Ellesmere. At a fantastic restaurant on the Mere. I have forgotten the Restaurants' name alas.

Find a new girlfriend that isn't so retarded.
>>2154689
Put some actual towels on that shit and keep him in the fucking dark, that light is probably freaking the shit out of him you heartless tard. Eyes closed means he's like a week old if that. Good luck, OP.
http://www.2ndchance.info/insecteater.htm
>>2154688
Take it to a rescue.
>>2154705
It's mostly for warmth, it's a big cold. Would towels help that.
>>2154688
feed him soggy cat kibbles
>>2154688
Take him to whatever animal rescue you can find. Call them up ahead of time to sort out if they can take the bird.
They have the resources and knowledge to take care of it.
What is my tiel doing? She started doing this as soon as I sprayed her with a little water seeing as its hot today
I've had her since december and this is the first time she does this
She seems to be trying to reach further beyong her legs
>>2154886
Here's another pic
>>2154886
Looks like typical bathing behavior for birds. They often go crazy happy like this when they bathe.
>>2154283
I love magpies! They're my favorite kind of bird.
>>2154280
>magpie
>friendly
Pick one.

back to straya with you
in the civilised world. magpies and hooded crows are the biggest bird-bros
to anon with baby bird . they like to eat ham and have water dripped into their mouth . also pieces of melon (the red on inside kind) I looked after one a couple of years ago .I just let it fly around the house doing its own thing . they will teach themselves to fly and feed itself soon enough . best giving it to somebody who has the time to look after it if you don't although they are very rewarding to raise yourself .also they poop on everything so if your an OCD freak I would not recommend. (I just covered furniture in old duvet covers) I used to take mine into the garden and it would fly around and sit in trees and dig for worms but would want to come back in with me at the end of the day . which I liked because I wanted it to be a pet of sorts . it would sit on my shoulder and head and when it came back in after playing outside it would cheep at me for a while like it was telling me about how its day had been . unfortunately a cat got to it and attacked it while I wasnt watching it and it seemed sad and in pain when I touched its wing but could still move around all I could do was keep it next to me and hope for the best and feed then it died after a few days . pretty sad but I enjoyed having a pet bird for a few weeks .
Here's my little buddy meeting santa.

Smacked into a window today and he is recovering really well!
>>2155202
It's only been a few hours man, chill out.
these are my new fluffy babies
>>2155552
Cute!
OP here. The Magpie won't go back with its parents. It keeps landing outside my bedroom window and chirping. Shall I ignore it until it goes back with it's parents? I have no issue looking after it, but I don't want to fuck up its development and I'd prefer it to be free.
post some birds
>>2157233
I assume they're its parents because they keep feeding it. I think it is a fledging because they're quite a bit bigger than it, it still has chick-like behaviour too. When they fly away it stays here.
>>2154280
how did you make it sit on your arm?
>>2157263
It was flying extremely close to me, so I held out my arm and on it jumped. Oddly easy.
Here's one of the birds I work with:

Had a pet Quail, thing would love it when we put it in a warm shower.

I clenched
Hey guys, my friend found a little bird a few days ago, it was going find but now it looks like it's dying, it's got tiny insects that look like ants (though she says theyre not ants) and has it's legs stretched out. For the record, she also wet it (i have no idea why), pic related is the bird as we speak. It still breathes
I had a cowbird fly so close to my head, I felt his wings brush my ear. He landed next to me and kept me company at lunch. But he wouldn't eat any of my food when I left it out for him. Very weird.
>>2158183
Well on top of dying it's also hypothermic now. Sorry for your loss
He's still here. I've been feeding him cereal, grapes and sandwich meat.
>go out to water a plant
>a bird built a nest on the plant
>there's newborn babies in the nest
when do i get rid of them
>>2155202
He was all good after a 6 hour rest. Flew off just fine!
>>2157234
People keep toucans?
here's a pic of a mourning dove, is it good?
>>2158631
only the most dedicated
>>2158639
wtf? I heard they cost 10k just to buy..... who can afford this shit?
>>2158641
Jerry
I went to a run down animal farm i took pics of birbs.
Enjoy
This guy here was like a dog. It panted and wagged its tail and wanted to be pet. Very cute. Its huge
I wish this guy let me pet him.
So pretty.
>>2158641
People that carry guns in their own kitchen?
>>2159167
That guy is a professional target shooter, with a lot of sponsors by the looks of it.
>>2158183
desu, just stomp on its head and let it out of its misery
> my shit dispenser
I've always wanted a bird, but I'm too young and I can't get a bird intill I'm old enough to move out of my parents house
They just walk around the neighborhood freely.
It's stopped coming, I think a cat may have killed it. I fucking hate cats.
>>2160329
If that's true, maybe the blame is partly on you. For teaching it to be so heedless of danger.
>>2158875
Those are muscovys. They like to wag their tail around for some reason. Also that panting is like quacking for them.
>>2158638
It's a cute burb.
Sucks that I can't find a video online with the sounds they make. Not the "hoo hooooo hoo" call but the retarded "perp perp perp perp perp" they make when they start flying.
>>2154979
Where did you find fresh mullberries!
>>2154578
That bird needs its beak coped
>>2154283
Cute corvid
>See bird
>It stops whatever it was doing
>It stares at me
>It flies away when I walk past it
>It stares at me from a nearby branch
>When I am gone it flies back and resumes what it was doing
How am I supposed to hang out with the birds like this?
>>2154280

>>2160846
Nice try, cat.
>>2154576
Birds are awesome, but cool birds are pretty expensive and take a lot of time, space and effort to care for properly.
>>2160291
That's so weird. If they were here someone would have eaten them by now.
>>2157372
Damn! That's a gorgeous bird. Looks dangerous as hell too. I wouldn't want to get close enough to feed it!
>>2160354
I know. I heard chattering, but it was just its parents. I feel incredibly sad right now, but I've learnt my lesson.
I got a bird for ya. :^)
>>2154688
I heard some species let their babies fall and just watch over them, you may have doomed it
>>2161078
It looks like a fledgling which usually stray from the nest but have parents watch over them and typically should just be left alone unless in imminent dangerous area.
It's feathers suggest its that but if its eyes are always closed it still may be a bit young. Regardless as long as its placed back in hearing range it will be fine.
>Worthless seagull nest right outside my apartment
>Bastards screaming every day, every night while cocking their heads up and down like Raptors
>Steals all the food from real birbs like ducks
>Go outside one day
>There's a shitty kid seagull on the ground
>Nope.jpg
>Seagulls divebombing me from every direction
>NOPE.avi
>Grab one of them by the lower body
>It flips out and pecks me so I throw it away
>Run away while covering my head
>tfw I can't even properly defend myself because "they're just birbs anon"
>>2158638
I have a pair of these that nest in my backyard pretty frequently
do they make good pets? I've been contemplating taking the babies right before they leave the nest
>>2160456
https://youtu.be/7oNljd7R1f8
i like the sound pigeons n doves make when they take off
>>2161590
So that's the bird that makes that noise all the time round here
>>2161568
If you're in the US and it's a native species to your area it's probably slap-on-the-wrist illegal.
I think just about every state has laws against capturing native animals as pets, doubt enforcement is consistent. Like in my state it's a felony to take a native animal from the wild as a pet or something, but even the most hardass wildlife and fisheries officer doesn't give a damn if your dog kills a momma opossum and you take care of the babies before releasing them. It does give them legal authority to intervene if they're worried about the animal's/other people's safety
>>2161728
>following laws you most likely won't be punished for
Spooked
>>2158638
So that's what those noisy little fuckers look like.
Not as scary as I expected from the noise.
Can anyone here help me identify what kind of bird this is. Seen in disneyland california.
>friendly magpie
not possible
that cunt will swoop you
>>2162199
Looks like a black-crowned night heron
>>2162061
The moral of the story is "don't tell anyone", but it's still not a guarantee that law enforcement in your area won't have a fit over it.
I don't like to leave things to chance, that's usually when things go to shit
>>2162205
Nah Eurasian magpies are bros, only Aussie magpies are cheeky swooping bellends. I'm surprised they're not descended from our criminal magpies that got deported in the 19th century
>>2160291
They roam free in a wildlife sanctuary I visited recently too. Couldn't believe how well they camouflage in bushes sometimes
>>2158876
Peacocks are assholes who shit everywhere. There's some feral ones in California.
>>2154688
Bring it back as soon as possible ffs.
Birds don't notice the smell, but they will abandon the baby if it disappears for too long.
>>2162061
That's not spooked you dumb fuck.
Spooked would be following laws because they're laws.
>>2162343
Thanks, couldn't find it anywhere.
>>2154688
Kill your stupid gf
