Mexican snek. You can tell by it's head being separate from the rest of the body.

should be Zamenis longissimus, the aesculapian snake

good job killing a species that is endangered due to continuing habitat loss

no, we only have 3 venomous species

first, we have Vipera berus, which is not deadly (if you are not a little kid or a very old person), but you´ll have a few bad days.

we also have Vipera ammodytes in the south of central and the north of southern europe.
They are a bit more venomous than V. berus, but are really rare nowadays and pretty much only live in a small area high up in the mountains now.

We also have Vipera ursinii, which is extremely rre and even extinct in most places it was found. Apparently, there was one reported death in the early 1900s ..but I can´t really believe it. They might have mistaken a V. berus for a V. ursinii. these little motherfuckes only eat grasshoppers and crickets, because they are too small for everything elese. So no real danger either

beutiful, very variable snakes, a shame that they are getting more and more rare.

Same thing for pretty much every species of snake in europe

Would explain why they nearly got killed by a flea-borne plague a couple centuries ago.
