Thoughts on taking your snakes out for supervised time outside? I see a lot of people do it but does it really affect the snake in a positive or negative way?

I don't see a problem with it if the duration of time outside is kept along general lines of handling time. So 15-30 minutes. Better be on the ball with supervision is a speedy variety. Even a colubrid can cheese it at the speed of sound if they decide to do so.

*if snake is... a speedy variety.
I don't think it's worth the risk of losing your snake. Outdoor enclosures would be a better option if you want to give your snakes some time outside.

Basically this. Not so much about losing your snake, but more about it getting loose, finding a mate, and wrecking havoc on the local ecosystem.

Can snakes easily crossbreed? I know people breed boas but they're all just colors of the same snake aren't they?

I would be more worried about some local predator or stray cat/dog fucking up my pet.
Or some stupid neighbor "doing me a favor".

This but put in an outdoor enclosure
People underestimate how fast their pets are.

Cross breeding can and does happen rarely in the wild. I'd be more worried about your snake finding another snake of the same species though. That's basically what happened with the Burmese Pythons down in the Everglades.

depends on species. corns/kings/milks/rats can all successfully cross breed, although sometimes the offspring will not be able to reproduce.
