Tree thread? Pic related one of my favorite trees, this horse chestnut outside my window. Should've taken a pic when it was blooming but I forgot.
I like oaks.
horse chestnuts are nice, too bad they're going extinct, atleast the white ones.
I like american aspens.
I like maidenhair trees.
And I'm fond of larches.

I'm pretty sure the two chestnuts in my yard are different than the ones going extinct but I'm not sure.
Also you can find them popping up in the woods occasionally. They might be coming back.

They are gonna extinct?
Why?

check the bark, if there's weird black spots on it it's going to die.
if trees in the area are affected those saplings are going to die as well.
pseudomonas syringae has a tendency of remaining in the soil for a long ass time, so even if they cut affected trees down and replant them those trees will die too.
trees with red flowers aren't affected for some reason.

I heard something Elms had some sort of problem too.

it's beetles in elms rather than bacteria.
there's also some shit going on with Buxus.
