I miss these guys and crickets too. In the UK theres hardly any insect sounds. Some grasshoppers in late summer making quiet zzzzing but thats all.
Cicadas are great fun to catch.

In the Summer in Japan you cannot have a conversation within 5 metres of these assholes without it getting drowned out by its horrifying wails. I have never heard them in the UK though.

I'm very afraid of cicadas yet still devastated that all the broods where I live went extinct decades ago due to humans destroying their habitats.

I relate to the little retards somehow even though all they do is scrabble their way up trees and make lots of noises.
