My Pit just dragged this into my living room, still alive.

Looks like a robin fledgling, but I'm counting on you guys to tell me I'm wrong.

Anyways I sat it outside about two hours ago and it hasn't moved, and nothing has come to pick it up yet.

Is it all ogre for him?

Have you even looked for the nest, retard?
>>
>>2129445
Not OP and yes while he should absolutely look for a nest - has anyone who has ever found a baby bird ever been able to put it back in the nest in an actual tree? I've been able to do it twice out of probably well over 50+ times in my life.
> an owl nest in my garage, so it wasn't very high.
>two, I was 22 at that point I was fucking awesome at climbing trees without easy to access branches.
The only reason why I even knew it was 'their' nest because it had three other babies that looked exactly the same and the same age.

OP yeah it'll probably die.
>>
Hey man, look at the bright side, you've got a great new chew toy for your pit.
>>
>>2129428

dust off your momma robin hand puppet and start chewing up some invertebrates

The dog could've pulled it from thin air.
>>
>>2129493
Yeah, but he probably got it off the ground and the bird probably fell out of a tree.
>>
>>2129514
I don't know if you can tell,
those trees are three stories high.

Thank the Lord in Heaven, because I have a solution.
>>
>>2129542
It's dark now, he's still on the ground.
>>
>>2129556

That bird is going to get eaten, bruh.
Fledglings push each other out of nests all the time.
>>
Ur a lucky fellow there OP, now you can see how it tastes
>>
>>2129561
That is so sad.
>>
>>2129561
Okay i brought him in.

Do I let him out everyday until he finds his parents?
>>
>>2129593

No, man, parents don't go after a missing baby. They just take care of the survivor.
>>
>>2129593
Moron. Next thing I bet you'll name it.
>>
>>2129645
Not OP, but would it be bad to keep it?
>>
>>2129645
>Naming something means you're emotionally attached to something and can't let go and will treat it like a dog
You're the one that gets mad when rehabbers name something, right? Not everyone is a 16 year old girl.
>>
>>2129652

It'd be fruitless to say the least.
>>
>>2129645
It Was fucking pitch black outside and the damn thing was just sitting there in the grass in the middle of the yard.

Unless fledglings sleep in the field?
>>
>>2129660
>"rescuing" nature's garbage
I assure you I'm not the 16 year girl.

feed it!
>>
>>2129706
I have some Canadian nightcrawlers I feed my garter.

Could I chop them up and give it to him?
I've seen adult robins eating worms on my lawn.

Okay i got a 15 watt plant warmer, a shoe box and some soft towels

I don't have a cage, i fed it some nightcrawler bits, it shut it's eyes for a few minutes but i don't know if it was asleep or what.

Now it's just sitting still, eyes open, looking directly at me.
What do.

>inb4 let it die
No, i had a Grackle die on me the same way last year.
Pic related, this bird is dead

get an eyedropper and give it some water, make sure its hydrated.

I've hear dog food is also not a bad option for feeding fledglings. mash it up with some water.
>>
>>2129704
>Robin's
>A common yet not an introduced species
>"Garbage"

Many birds are seasonal visitors. Crazy to think, with wings and all. Might as well just cull all the red tail hawks too. Also think we should cull the snowy owls because damn, there is just so many a few months out of the year here!
>>
>>2129756
The damned thing wants to eat the syringe.

I got about 2 cc of water in him but fuck if that wasn't hell.

Anyways, it's midnight here but he's still awake and skittering around the floor.
I can't imagine being awake is good for his health.

Again, I don't have a cage. How do I detain him to make him sleep?
>>
>>2129771
>How do I detain him to make him sleep?
a box with some holes in it
>>
>this is going to end poorly

Take it to animal rescue in the morning... They might not kill it. Maybe.

Feeding baby birds is a full time job, you have to do that shit seriously, like once an hour/every other hour or they die.

>>2129780
Well, he's not a baby-baby, right?

And two, I'm an actual NEET in his natural habitat.
I have no obligations until mid-August. By then he should be full grown, yeah?
>>
>>2129790
Fuck, it was sleeping for fifteen minutes, then it just up and fucking chirps.
Once.
Then it goes back to sleep.

What the fuck?!
>>
>>2129794
http://www.learner.org/jnorth/tm/robin/FAQBabies.html

Feeding baby birds has been the worst for me so good luck. Prepare to set a ton of alarms.
>>
>>2129797
Just to be clear, they don't have to be fed during the night, right? When everyone's asleep?

Please answer soon, because I've been waking up, and more importantly, waking IT up every two hours now to feed it strawberries and worms.

I can't find the answer online.
>>
>>2129939

I'm not sure but strawberries probably arent good for it...

OP if I were you I would look for the nearest wildlife rehab center ASAP. This thing deserves a decent shot at life, and the average guy isn't equipped to give it that.

You should let the professionals handle this if it is an option at all, for your health and the bird's.
>>
>>2129593
Call a bird sanctuary already.

>>2129947
>>2129982
Gonna do this.

They open at 9 and they're forty miles away.
