So I bought something that looks like a gemstone yesterday and I'm wondering if it's a real gemstone. Can somebody help me?
Look at the picture you posted. Look at it. Ask yourself how anyone is going to be able to tell shit from your dark shitty picture.
Looks kinda plasticy. Although if it was plastic it'd be very light.

It isn't very light. Kind of is like a stone.

If it *is* stone, it's probably carnelian or jasper.
Pretty sure that's a pull string for a ceiling fan. I would need to get my jeweler's loupe and have a closer look to verify.
You'll have to hit it with something in order to cause it to fracture/break up so you can determine it's cleavage.
looks like a red jasper to me. could be coral
It's way too uniform in coloring and surface texture to be an actual stone. Most likely a resin cast of some sort.
Brown recluseinite

You are probably right. This is the best picture I could get. It has black stripes, not many of them though. Probably a fake one, since it was really cheap. The man who gave me that asked something like: "What's your birth month?" I said: "November". He had at least 10 of them, 3 of them were like this one, and two or three blue ones and not sure about the rest of them. I didn't ask him what type of "stone" is it, which was stupid of me, I admit. But it's okay I guess, it was cheap and I find it cute.

So, do you live underground or in a cave or something? Take a pic in the goddamn light ffs

Doesn't really matter anymore.
