tentworm

Tiger moth of some species probably. Try to feed it plants near where you found it, but luckily tiger moths tend to be generalists and eat many types

Tent caterpillar. Highly invasive, and they live in colonies and kill trees and shit. They'll eat pretty much any type of leaf, but if you see a big nest (pictured) itd be best to pick leaves from that tree. (I actually took this picture today walkin through the woods. The are quite interesting)

I just burnt several of these nests out of my trees last week. I know there are sprays and shit, but a propane torch and a 6' ladder work great if you catch them early.

don't even got burn them directly.

My family use to get nests of these fuckers (or the thousand other kinds of worms) and making a large fire under them will kill them with smoke and lack of oxygen.

Of course, burning the actual nest with fire is always much much more satisfying. Those fuckers explode.

Thats a little depressing. Ive always had a soft spot for these guys, they're probably my favorite bug, despite the fact that everything they touch turns to shit
>>
>>2125855
they're actually not that destructive, that's a common myth. unless it's a young sapling, they can't kill a tree or do damage beyond aesthetic damage. you have to completely defoliate a mature tree 2 or 3 times before it's in danger.
>>
These things are cool. There were always packs of them in their big nests during the summer near my house. Cute things
>>
>>2125855
They dont kill whatever they touch. These things areassive where i live and set up like 3 big cocoons in every tree and the trees have always been fine

yeah, the biggest harm they can do is if a pregnant mare accidentally eats some. they're slightly toxic to horses, but they need such a large dose to do harm, it's not a problem unless the horse is pregnant. then they can cause abortions.
