I tend to love docile bugs that other people are scared shitless of. Toss up between euro hornet, house centipede, and huntsman spider

You could try systematic desensitisation. Ease yourself into it and work your way up what you find distressing. Like, if you feel comfortable looking at a picture of insects, try something like looking at them in person, and then after that holding one. Usually helps to suppress the fear, displacing the distress with relaxation as a conditioned response.
